Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone has a good week planned. I had a great day yesterday learning about how to use my camera - I'll be back soon with some super duper shots to share!
Anyway, how are you getting on using up your scraps? Even though I'm on a mission to use up my scraps, my scraps basket seems to be getting bigger and bigger all the time! How does this happen?
This week I had a photo of my little one with her hands in a tub of GU chocolate caramel flapjacks to scrap - obviously these were meant for the adults but she got her little hands on the tub when I wasn't looking, emptied them all all over the floor and enjoyed sucking some of them! Oh the joys of motherhood - I didn't know whether to immediately and frantically clear them up or grab my camera - camera won clearly!
I fancied a pink and brown theme for this one so raided my scraps basket for anything in that colour scheme that would work with the photo and this is what I found:
It always amazes me how many scraps I pull out for these projects and also how they are a total mix of manufacturers but yet all still seem to work together. I usually get quite hung up on sticking to the same maufacturer/paper range but I'm trying to let go of that a bit these days!
And here is the layout I made:
I was worried that my background was a little plain - I had deliberately kept my layout minimal as I had used a pattern for the background but it was still missing something so I drew around a little table-top bin I have (!) lightly in pencil (it was a good size and meant I didn't have to go downstairs to get a plate, I was feeling a bit lazy!) and then drew faux stitching over it in brown pen. I did two lines as one got a little lost in the background pattern.
and here's my great title: I knew I wanted a big title on this layout as the rest was quite minimal so I went for italic Thickers in cream and MLS in 'Chocolate' ! Love it!
So please join me on my mission to use up those scraps: to join in simply create a layout using only scraps. You can use one full sheet for your background and can add any embellishments and alphabets you like. Then link your layout below so I can see what you've been up to.
Thanks for joining in xx
