Celebrate Scrapbook Layout with Layered Hearts using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Heart & Home Collection

Saturday 23 September 2023

Do you like layers on your scrapbook layouts?  On this layout I have used lots of different patterns from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Heart & Home A5 Paper stack to cut lots of hearts in different sizes. I love doing this as it means I get to use lots of patterns on one page!

I started off by cutting multiple hearts – I did this using metal nesting dies and my Big Shot. I then spent some time layering the hearts together, I also distressed the edges of each one before sticking them together. I arranged the hearts down the right side of my layout, on the edge of a large square of the Fall Beauty patterned paper, pink heart side. Once I was happy with the positioning of the hearts, I stuck them to the pink square and then trimmed around them. I added the pink square and layered hearts to a white piece of card for my background. I then added some machine stitching: through the middle of all the hearts and around the edge of the pink square.

I then added my photo, which I framed using a piece of Die Cut Ephemera and I also added a title using one of the Gold Titles ‘celebrate’ because in the photo we were out for my daughter’s birthday.

I kept the rest of the layout embellishments fairly simple as I didn’t want to overpower the stacked design so I just added a few pieces of Floral Ephemera, a few phrases from the Die Cut Ephemera and a few Puffy Hearts. I finished off with a few splatters of gold paint.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this layout, have a happy scrappy day!

Hello Autumn | Simple Stories | Acorn Lane

Friday 22 September 2023

Hey everyone! Here is another layout using the gorgeous Acorn Lane collection by Simple Stories. I love the mustard colour in this collection and wanted that to be the main colour on this layout. So I picked out the beautiful leaf paper, and paired this with a sheet of Mustard Color Vibe cardstock. I layered them together and used these for a large portion of my background.

I arranged three photos and a journaling card in a grid design and then added a tag from the Tags paper, and then set to work embellishing. I made two large clusters consisting of Floral Bits, Bits & Pieces, Chipboard Stickers and Cardstock Stickers. I also added Decorative Brads to these clusters.

I finished off the layout with splatters of gold paint and I also drew a doodled border around the edge of the Mustard cardstock. I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout, I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Happy scrapping

Pumpkin Kisses | Simple Stories | Acorn Lane Collection

Hi everyone! Here is my first layout using Acorn Lane by Simple Stories! I love the patterns and colours in this collection and all the autumn themed icons! For this layout I used a couple of sheets of Color Vibe cardstock: a sheet from the Woods collection of which I used the white ledger B side, and a sheet of blue Cornflower. I used these together for my background.

I cut a large circle from the blue plaid print and also cut a small circle from the middle of it which I turned over. I arranged these together with three tags from the Tags paper, onto my layout together with my two photos.

I created two embellishment clusters using Floral Bits and Bits & Pieces. I also used a few pieces from the Chipboard Stickers and Decorative Brads.

I added my own title using alpha stickers from the Acorn Lane Sticker Book ‘Pumpkin kisses’. I finished off with splatters of gold paint for a shimmery autumn feel!

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Girls Night Girls Scrapbook Layout | Bramble Fox

Time for a Girls Night in?! For this layout I have used the Girls Night title by Bramble Fox, as well as those fun word strips and Paper Snips too, to make a layout documenting my daughter's 12th birthday party.  The paper collection is Sweet Rush by Vicki Boutin, that I’ve been holding on to for a while now!

I started with a strip of colourful patterned paper on a white background. I added large embellishment clusters at opposite corners. For these I used a number of embellishments from Sweet Rush but then added Bramble Fox details: nail polish and lips Perspextives, face mask, eye mask, mascara & lipstick from the Paper Snips, and underneath the photo, several phrase strips Perspextives that say things like ‘paper time’ and ‘time with my besties’ – how fun!

For my title I used the bright pink Girls Night Perspextive. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun title also comes in this set, I had a hard time choosing between the two but eventually the bright pink won. I will have to save the other one for a different layout!

I finished off with sequins, splatters of black paint and handwritten journaling. I hope you have enjoyed this layout and enjoy the video too!

Happy scrapping

Family Home Kitchen | Simple Stories | What's Cookin' Collection

Thursday 21 September 2023

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the very pretty What’s Cookin’ collection. I rarely scrap about the things I cook or bake so this was the perfect opportunity to scrap a story about that!

I choose a pretty pink floral pink patterned paper for my background and trimmed it down. I mounted this onto another brighter pink patterned paper and then added these to a white background. I folded down the top left corner for a bit of added interest.

I then cut a wide strip of the stripy paper, cut in-between all the stripes and cut them into v shapes. I added this strip across the layout with a strip of patterned paper at the top too – this reminded me of the frills of an apron! I added some zig zag machine stitching to this area and I also added some at the top corner too.

I added a square photo which I mounted onto patterned paper and then I added this to the layout together with lots of lovely Bits & Pieces. I added a ‘note’ card behind the photo, chipboard apron from the Chipboard Stickers, mixer and ‘Family Home Kitchen Food’ Chipboard Layered Sticker.

I carried on adding lovely embellishments to my layout. I picked out all the elements that were relevant to my photo: jar of utensils, mixing bowl & whisk, cupcake liners, bag of flour and bag of sugar – how cute are all these!

I added a few more bits: phrase labels from the Cardstock Stickers, Decorative Brads and Enamel Dots. I also added some more Bits & Pieces: the heart shapes, to my paper stripes.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this layout come together! I really enjoyed making it and I love how it turned out!

Happy scrapping

Golden Days Autumn Scrapbook Layout | Bramble Fox

Tuesday 12 September 2023

Do you love the Golden Days of Autumn? I love to scrap my Autumn photos and the October Fox Box is packed full of beautiful Perspextives to do just that!

I have used the Acorn Lane collection by Simple Stories. I wanted to feature a large portion of that gorgeous leaf print so used that at the top of my page and tore off the bottom corner. I added another paper layer and some mustard pom pom trim.

Around my photo I added lots of floral and leaf ephemera, I also added lots of leaves and labels cut from Paper Snips #42. These formed the clusters around my photo.

I used the Golden Days title from the October Fox Box and added several of the word strips also from the October Fox Box around it. And I added that adorable squirrel!

I finished off with sequins and splatters of gold paint! I hope you like the layout and enjoy the video. Happy scrapping

Gather Together Scrapbook Layout with Sequin Shaker Pocket using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Heart & Home

Saturday 9 September 2023

On this scrapbook layout I have used the new beautiful Heart & Home collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio to create a design with circles, stencilling and a cute little sequin shaker pocket out of a piece of ephemera.

I started with the beautiful Flurry paper which is dark blue with multicoloured leaves on one side, and has a multicoloured check on the other side. Of course I loved both sides! I cut some circles and positioned these onto a white background together with some patterned paper stripes too.

I made a sequin shaker pocket out of the wreath from the Die Cut Ephemera. I cut a piece of white card to back the wreath with, and cut a piece of acetate the same size. I then machine stitched the two pieces together trapping some sequins inside. I then added the wreath ephemera on top of the sequin pocket – it looks so cute!

I embellished the layout with Floral Ephemera and also added a small amount of stencilling around my circles and photos using a sun beam style stencil.

For my title I used one of the gorgeous Gold Titles ‘gather’ and then added the word ‘together’ using the Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers.

I finished off with puffy heart stickers and splatters of white paint!

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
