Hey again everyone! I’m back today with another layout for
Cocoa Vanilla Studio using the Great Escape Collection. For this layout I was
inspired by the banner shapes in this collection and decided to make a banner
design.
I used white for my background and then made three different
sized banners out of patterned papers. I chose two solid-ish patterns for the
larger ones (green compasses, and orange zig zags) and then took a risk and
made a stripy one for the smaller one. The reason it’s a risk, is because there
are white stripes in-between the colours, and multiple colours, so it may not
have looked as defined as the other two, but after distressing the edges and
put some orange trim around the bottom edge, I think it looks ok!
I distressed the edges of all banners, and added strings for
‘hangings’. I usually would have used brads for them to ‘hang’ from, but I
didn’t have any (I was scrapping away from home) so I just stitched them in
place with a single stitch using cotton.
I also added contrasting coloured strips to the top of each banner.
I added one single photo, a landscape one, which is a bit
unusual for me, but it worked perfectly with this design. I added two large
embellishment clusters, comprising of Floral Ephemera from the Heart & Home
collection (which goes beautifully with the colours in Great Escape by the
way!) and multiple other Ephemera pieces from Great Escape. I also added
chipboard, which I always enjoy adding because it gives a different texture to
my layouts.
For my title I used ‘the great outdoors’ from the Puffy
Title Stickers, which I positioned on the diagonal lines of the banners. Again
this is a bit different for me, so I was a bit out of my comfort zone with this
layout! But I love how the title looks!
I finished off with small embellishments: stars from the
Puffy Title Stickers, Enamel Dots and sequins! I also added a few phrase strips
from the Accessory Stickers.
I adore how this layout turned out, it’s so fun and I love
the oversized banners!
Happy scrapping
Big hand-cut numbers to celebrate a birthday! I’ve used
several of the new boy sets available now in the Bramble Fox shop on this
layout celebrating my son’s 11th birthday.
I started with a white background, and then I cut two large
number 1s from black patterned paper from the Family Fun collection by Simple
Stories. Once my large numbers were cut and in place, I then added some
stencilling using the new cogs stencil. I added two areas in yellow ink.
I then built the rest of my layout around the numbers. I
used loads of Perspextive words: loved, awesome and boy, and three of the 100%
words too. I love the look of the multiple words on the layout.
I added a few Family Fun embellishments and added to my
clusters with some of the smaller Perspextives: a few of the cogs and the
football from the diggers set. My son loves football so this was ideal.
I finished off with a few multicoloured stars, enamel dots
and splatters of black paint – this turned out to be such a fun layout, I love
the oversized numbers to mark his birthday.
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping!
Feeling the Beach Vibes? Here is a layout I made using the
Just Beachy collection by Simple Stories. I used THAT paper, and cut out all
the white, leaving only the coloured stripes which I popped up on a white
background, before tucking in ALL the embellishments: Floral Bits, Bits &
Pieces, Chipboard Stickers, Foam Stickers and a few sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps!
Hey everyone! Here is a layout I made using the very pretty
Simple Vintage Essentials Color Palette Collection. I adore this collection as
it is full of ginghams (my favourite!) and also there is a set of papers
containing just tags! I also love working with tags, and always reach for them
in all the regular collections. These ones are sightly different as they are
bigger, but they are also double sided as usual.
I selected three colours to use on this layout: red, pink
and turquoise. I cut tags out in those colours, as well as tags to go behind
them too. I added ribbons to the three top tags and layered them onto a white
cardstock background. Before sticking down the tags fully, I just tacked them
in place so they were easy to lift up and tuck bits under. I then had some
wonderful fun with the Rub Ons. They are so beautiful and easy to use. I cut
them from the main sheet, positioned them where I wanted them, and rubbed. They
transfer super easily.
Some of the Rub Ons are slightly behind the tags, some are
slightly over, and some are over by a long way! There is a lot of flexibility
and options!
I added my photo to the middle point of the two tags on the
right and then added some additional embellishments. I aimed for a
colour-on-colour effect. I added words from the Foam Stickers, some Chipboard
Stickers, Bits & Pieces and Enamel Dots.
I finished off with a few splatters of black paint. I love
how the pops of black stand out so much, contrasting with he softer colours.
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping!
Hey everyone! Here is my layout using the very gorgeous
Simple Vintage Essentials Color Palette. I LOVE gingham! And decided to use ALL
the colours!
I used the 6x8 Paper Pad and selected one sheet of each
design, 12 colours in total. I trimmed them down a little and then scored at ¼”
intervals, then concertina folded. Some of the pieces I scored at ½” intervals,
so as to add a little extra dimension and interest.
I then arranged the concertina pieces into an uneven circle
and stuck them down using a hot glue gun. This was a little tricky and took a
bit of time and manoeuvring of the pieces! But it was a fun process and I adore
my wonky circle! It was never supposed to be uniform but it isn’t quite how I
expected as I wanted more difference in the length of some of the pieces but
I’m still happy with how it turned out!
I then felt I should keep the remainder of the layout quite
simple, so I added my two photos to the middle without any borders or layers. I
then tucked in some Bits & Pieces, and some words from the Foam Stickers. I
added these embellishments in a colour-on-colour fashion, so green
embellishments on the green segment of the circle, red on red, etc.
I finished off with a few heart stickers from the Foam
Stickers and splatters of black paint.
I love how this turned out, it is so colourful and fun! Process reel on my Instagram!
Hey everyone, here is my latest layout for Cocoa Vanilla
Studio using the Great Escape Collection. For this layout I decided to feature
the wonderful journaling cards from the cut -apart sheet. I chose four cards
and arranged them in a grid design together with two photos. I mounted the two
photos onto some of the papers from the A5 Paper Stack.
I made the journaling cards and the mounted photos all the
same size and distressed the edges of all. I arranged them onto my white card
background and then I started to add some fabulous embellishments – my
favourite part!
I used Floral Ephemera from the Heart & Home collection
as the base for each of my clusters. I tucked them under some of the cards in three
distinct areas. I added Great Escape Ephemera to the clusters, mostly smaller
items, including stars, banners and arrows.
For my title I used the Wild by Nature title from the Puffy
Title Stickers which I added to one of the journaling cards. I love these
titles, there are so many totally awesome options! I added some Ephemera words: ‘explore’,
‘roam’ and ‘adventure’ to my layout too and added word strips from the
Accessory Stickers. I finished off with my journaling and splatters of black
paint!
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
For the boys..! For this layout I’ve used the fabulous new
boy sets available now in the shop, to document my son’s birthday. He took a
couple of friends Go-Karting and they had the best time.
I’ve used the Family Fun collection by Simple Stories, which
is an older collection, from about 3 years ago, but I’ve held on to it as it’s
so good for scrapping boys! I started off by using the cogs stencil, which I
stencilled onto a white background using red and black inks.
I’ve used the Built Tough title in black as my main title,
and I also used 100% Fearless, also in black. From the Diggers set I used the
red racing car…so perfect for my Go-Karting photos! And I’ve also used a number
of the cogs and tools. I love the small pieces to tuck in around my layout.
I finished off with colourful enamel dots and splatters of
black paint!
Check out these new sets in the Bramble Fox shop, they are
super fun!
Here is my challenge layout for the GoGo Getaway NSD Colour Fest! I've used the Fresh Air collection by Simple Stories and made large strips of patterned paper for my background!
