Hello My Lovely | Lottie Loves Paper | Maggie Holmes Garden Party

Friday 28 May 2021

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Lottie Loves Paper using the very beautiful Garden Party collection by Maggie Holmes. I’ve focused on that beautiful pink striped paper today called ‘Sown’.

I started by cutting the stripes apart, distressing the edges and sticking them back onto a piece of white card. I moved them all over to the left and trimmed off the overlaps so that I had an area of white space over on the right side.

I added my photo and a few pieces of the large ephemera I still have left to use. Sometimes I find larger pieces hard to incorporate into a layout I have already started, so by starting with them I find them much easier to include. I have used a card saying ‘hello my lovely’ and have used this as a feature instead of a layer. This is super pretty because the writing is gold foiled.

I had lots of pink fussy cut flowers leftover from a previous layout so I thought I’d use them for this layout too. I created a large cluster over on the right side of the layout under my photo. I then dotted the flowers around the layout in other places too, trapping them under the stripes in some places. I also added machine stitching to the stripes.

I added gold accents to the layout: vellum ephemera, gold ribbon through the tag ad some gold words from the Thickers. I added Bramble Fox hearts to all the clusters and finished off with a few Spiegelmom Scraps sequins.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout and thank you for joining me today. Happy scrapping

Summer Fun | Simple Stories | Sunkissed Collection

Thursday 27 May 2021

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Simple Stories and I’m using the Sunkissed Collection which is bright and happy summery collection.

I particularly love yellow so was drawn to the yellow paper in the collection that have loopy lines all over it. I trimmed this down, distressed the edges and stuck it to a white background.

I decided to go with a circle theme for this layout and used the SN@P! Circle Photo Crops to cut down my photos. I also used a smaller Circle Crop to trim the 2” squares from one of the cut-apart sheets into circles too. I cut more circles from patterned papers from the 6x8” paper pad and I cut white circles too.

I made some cute rosettes too. I cut strips of the diagonal striped paper 12” long but varying widths (1.5”, 1” and ¾” and scored every ¼”. I concertina folded the strips, glued the ends together and flattened into rosette shapes which I secured on the back with a punched white circle.

I arranged my photos, rosettes and all those beautiful patterned paper circles onto my bright yellow background and added a sun from the Foam Stickers and a title. I made the title from the word ‘summer’ from the Foam Stickers, and ‘fun’ from the alphabet stickers within the Sunkissed Sticker Book.

I stuck some circle stickers from the Sticker Book onto white card and punched them out with circle punches so that I had some little circles to dot around the layout and use as embellishments. Sticking them onto cardstock first makes them more sturdy, particularly so that I could raise them on foam pads.

I added more Foam Stickers: phrases and cute hearts. I added a few of the adorable Puffy Stickers too and then dotted enamel dots in between my circles.

I finished off with a few white paint splatters!

This layout turned out so fun and bright! I love the end result and it was a pleasure to create with the Sunkissed collection. Roll on summer here in the UK so that I can use it for our upcoming summer adventures!

Happy scrapping

You Make Today Better | Hip Kit Club | April Kits and Pinwheel Cut File

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club. I’m using the April 2021 Kits which you can find on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/april-2021. I have also used an exclusive cut file, ‘Pinwheels’ which you can find in the April downloads here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/april-2021-downloads

I cut the beautiful pinwheel cut file from the pretty Heidi Swapp patterned paper. I love how the pinks and peach tones all blend into each other and now I have all that prettiness on my cut file!

I decided to add some stenciling onto a white background using the inks from the April Color Kit and the beautiful stencil. I started with two colours: Lotus Flower (pink) and Powdered Peach (peach) and blended them in several places. I then moved the stencil and used the Mint Macaroon (mint) ink. The effect of the stenciling is really pretty. I then popped the cut file up on foam pads and placed that over my stenciling.

I decided to go with those colours as my colour scheme for this layout so I added my photo and then set about finding embellishments that matched that scheme. I love all the chipboard pieces from Maggie Holmes Garden Party and there were plenty to match my colours. I picked out a polaroid frame with the phrase: You Make Today Better which I thought was so lovely and therefore I used it as my title! I added Bunnies & Blooms ephemera and labels as well as Garden Party stickers too.

I finished off the layout with beautiful gems from Prima and some splatters of the Powdered Peach ink which I mixed with a drop of water.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Love & Sprinkles | Bella Blvd | My Candy Girl Collection

Wednesday 26 May 2021

Hi everyone! Here is a new layout for Bella Blvd using the BRAND NEW My Candy Girl Collection. I’m so happy to be creating with this beautiful and fun new collection.

One of the papers has donuts all over it and I had a perfect photo so decided to go with this. I started off fussy cutting out lots of donuts from the donut paper.

I then came across the paper with the wide stripes and decided to use that together with the fussy cut donuts to form a background. I cut apart the wide stripes and distressed the edges. I then stuck four onto a white background.

I then layered all my fussy cut donuts onto the striped background in a colour-on-colour fashion. I also went looking for more embellishments to use. I went through the My Candy Girl ephemera pack and pulled out lots of fun things that would work with this layout: more donuts (!), stars, hearts and flowers!

I also used some stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet: three border strips which matched my striped background and some labels.

I mounted my photo onto My Candy Girl paper and some tissue paper too and then got everything stuck in place. I added a title using Aria Puffy Stickers and Florence alphabet stickers in the Ice colour. I finished off with a few splatters of white paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Beep Beep | GoGo Getaway Cybercrop Sketch Challenge

Monday 24 May 2021

Hey everyone, here is a new layout to share for GoGo Getaway. On 15th May we held our monthly Cybercrop over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook Group and I hosted the Sketch Challenge.

I have mirrored the sketch as my photos were facing the wrong way so I just switched it around a little to suit my photos. I have used the Little Dreamer collection by Echo Park Paper which is available from Lottie Loves Paper.

I started off with a pale blue cardstock background. I added two colourful striped strips on the side edges of the layout to make the background a little bit less plain.  For the three areas on the sketch I chose a 4x4” journaling card showing a car and the words ‘beep beep’ and for the other two squares, I used my photos. I backed the photos using ephemera and other papers. I added a cute little chipboard saying to the top photo ‘so much awesome in such a little boy’ and another small journaling square at the bottom of the layout that reads ‘born to be wild’ and my little Theo certainly was born to be wild!!

I added some Bramble Fox perspextives: a red camera from the May 2021 Fox Box and some gold stars that I’ve been holding on to for some time now! I added puffy stickers, chipboard stickers and also a couple of ephemera tags tied through with natural twine.

I added my title ‘beep beep’ using little navy alphabet stickers which are super cute!

I finished off with my journaling and some splatters of white paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Lovely | Hip Kit Club | Recipe Challenge

Sunday 23 May 2021

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club. I’m using the April 2021 Kits which you can find on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/april-2021. I’m also playing along with Challenge Friday and this week’s challenge is a Recipe Challenge: rainbows, flowers, stitching and chipboard. The DT members also had additional challenges of using a white background and to have a Summer theme.

I’ve used a white background but included a large area of patterned paper, one of the Maggie Holmes Garden Party papers. I cut it into six squares and positioned these onto my white background in a grid fashion. I machine stitched around each one.

I positioned my photo on a cross point of the grid and then added lots of embellishments around my photo: chipboards, stickers and ephemera. I managed to tick off two things on the recipe list by using chipboard flowers 😊 I did include quite a lot of flowers and lots and lots of chipboard on this layout!

I created a cluster at the bottom of the layout that included a rainbow – so that box on the recipe list is ticked too. I think that’s all of them!

I finished with a few lines of journaling and some white paint splatters.
Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Toddlersaurus | Lottie Loves Paper | | Maggie Holmes Garden Party

Saturday 22 May 2021

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Lottie Loves Paper using the very beautiful Garden Party Collection by Maggie Holmes. I decided to go for a boy layout today!

I have used a cut file by Peartree Cutfiles which I cut in white and backed in teal Garden Party Paper. I created my background out of the green Garden Party paper and I tore off a strip from one side. I layered this with a piece of the blue stripy paper too and put them onto a white background. I splattered the green paper with white acrylic paint.  I then tucked on of my photos into the torn strip and placed the other on top.

I then fussy cut lots of blue flowers from another Garden Party paper. I tucked these into the torn layers, around my photos and around the dinosaur too. I also cut a large vellum flower from the Garden Party speciality sheet and layered this under one of my photos.

I added tickets, a cupcake, a bow and a floral circle embellishment to the layout from the Garden Party Chipboard and stickers. I also added two Garden Party gold glittery hearts.

I finished off with sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps (Holiday Magic) and some punched leaves from teal cardstock.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Fun Right Here | Shimmerz Paints | May 2021 Color Kitz

Friday 21 May 2021

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Shimmerz Paints using the May 2021 Color Kitz. This kit is awesome! I adore the colours. The Kitz contains five colours of Shimmerz Paint: Rule of Plum Vibez, Sugar Plum Shimmerz, Lettuce Get Together Creameez, Daffodil Creameez and Meet Me @Sunset Inklingz. The Kitz also includes an exclusive cut file, a set of three Dotz and a pack of cut little paper flowers.

I started off with the cut file. I cut it three times in white card in three different sizes. I then cut backing pieces for each one from Marshmallow cardstock. I then painted these backing pieces with three colours: Rule of Plum Vibez, Sugar Plum Shimmerz, Lettuce Get Together Creameez. Once dry I attached the cut file on top of each backing piece using wet glue and I also stitched around them with my sewing machine.

I then created a yellow background on a piece of Marshmallow card. I began with the beautiful Daffodil Creameez paint. I activated it with water and let it sit for a while so I had lots of lovely right paint and then I used a wide paintbrush to paint a very large area of colour on the right side of my layout. When that had dried a bit, I applied Meet Me @ Sunset to the background too, mostly around the edges of the yellow area I had created already and then I also added splatters of this colour all over the yellow area. Because the Daffodil paint was already dry, the Meet Me @Sunset paint sat on top and looks beautifully shimmery.

I then set about putting together the rest of my layout. I added torn strips of paper at the top of the layout. I mounted my photo onto yellow and green paper and I added twine to my lightbulbs to make the look as though they were hanging down – they look so pretty!

I added fussy cut flowers to the lightbulbs, as well as gold acetate butterflies, chipboard flowers, gold padded hearts and other embellishments. To each cluster I also added the cute little paper flowers from the Kitz.

I added in all three Dots from this month’s kit, they are such perfect clours and coordinate beautifully with the paint colours. I added in a few acrylic Perspextives: ‘& frame to the left of the photo, two pretty swans and little yellow starbursts on the yellow painted area.

I finished off with some sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps (Jewel of the Nile) and some more splatters of Daffodil paint.

I think this layout turned out really pretty! I hope you have enjoyed it. Don’t forget if you place an order via the Shimmerz Store, put my name in the comments to receive a freebie.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Amazing | Bramble Fox | May 2021 Fox Box & Travel Banners

Thursday 20 May 2021

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Bramble Fox using the May 2021 Fox Box and the Banners – Travel which are new to the shop. I have used the Amazing title from my May Fox Box and four bubblegum Travel Banners . I’ve also used two little trees from the Forest set.

I went looking for supplies to match the colour of the bubblegum banners and found the perfect paper! It is from my March Hip Kit and is a sheet of purple flowers and green leaves on a navy background. I spent a lot of time fussy cutting all those flowers and leaves and then arranged the onto my layout around my central photo.

I managed to place the Amazing title on the photo – it reads quite well there. I usually like to put my Perspextive words on a plain background so that they show up well but this worked well enough over the photo and I really liked the placement there.

I added more fussy cut flowers, tiny yellow and orange ones! I also added some rolled paper flowers. Amongst the foliage I added in the cute bubblegum Travel Banners – these have great words: Destination, Discover, Adventure, Journey. The match the fussy cut flowers so well. I also added in the little trees from the Forest set, just peeking out from the flowers too.

I finished off with Spiegelmom Scraps sequins (Jewel of the Nile), some journaling and splatters of navy paint.

Thank you so much for joining me and happy scrapping

Hoppy Times | Hip Kit Club | April Main Kit Only

Saturday 15 May 2021

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club. I’m using the April 2021 Kits but am using the Main Kit only today. You can find the April kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/april-2021. As well as using just the Main Kit, we also had a recipe to follow for today’s posts: 5 patterned papers, 1 Alpha, 1 embellishment pack and a white background.

I choose to feature lots of patterns on my layout and chose five papers that worked well together. I cut four hearts in different sizes from three of the patterns to create layered hearts. I layered these up and stitched through the middle of each.

I mounted my photos onto another patterned paper which was a floral by Maggie Holmes. From the same paper I also fussy cut lots of pretty flowers which I tucked into my layered hearts.

From my 5th patterned paper, I fussy cut a few little tickets and labels and also tucked these into the various elements of my layout too: a couple next to the photo and one on the bottom heart.

I then embellished using  just one set of embellishments: I choose the chipboard from the Simple Stories Bunnies & Blooms collection which is full of fun motifs.

I added my title using Maggie Holmes Thickers and went for ‘Hoppy Times’ which is such a fun Easter themed title!

I finished off with my journaling and a few splatters of pink paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this layout. Happy scrapping
