Happy Second Birthday!

Saturday 29 June 2013

Morning all! It's Saturday which means another fabulous sketch over at Sketch Saturday:
and here is my DT entry. I needed a birthday card for one of Sophie's little friends Esme who is now two! Esme is very cute so I picked this cute little girl digi by Milk Coffee who I thought was just perfect! The papers are by My Mind's Eye. I flipped the sketch slightly because otherwise she would have been facing the wrong way!

This week's Sketch Saturday sketch is sponsored by the fabulous Milk Coffee who have some GORGEOUS digis and are offering a prize to this week's winner so make sure youhead on over and join in the fun!

Kit Release: June 4 'Reminder'

Wednesday 26 June 2013

This week's kit features some of the super gorgeous 'Collectable' range by My Mind's Eye:
The kit contains:
3 x Collectable patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
'Collectable' Label stickers
Sequin trim, bakers twine and a button.

I struggled slightly with my first layout as I wanted to focus on the red in the photo but the kit was predominantly yellow! There was red on the back of one of the papers but that seemed really dark so I lightened the layout by using the turquoise card and the floral patterns. I really wasn't sure about mixing the orange card with the red colour but it has worked well because of the orange in the floral patterns. I've added a title using alphabet stickers from my stash.

My second layout was easier as I could embrace the yellow! I've used the label stickers to embellish as well as looping the bakers twine down the right side of the photos.

And here is Kirei's layout using this kit. Check out her blog for more details on how she made it:

This week's kit costs £6.95 and can be purchased HERE.

A New Baby Girl!

Saturday 22 June 2013

Morning morning!

This week is the fabulous Jen's birthday - she is the one who designs our amazing sketches each week over at Sketch Saturday, so in honour of her birthday we're having a FREE week this week. That means you can choose any sketch since #216 which is the first one she did! You can find all the past sketches HERE. I've chosen #243:

and made a new baby girl card with it! I've used an image by Lili of the Valley but I didn't want to go over girly as the friend I've made this for isn't a particularly girly girl so I chose a pink and purple colour scheme:

This week's challenge is sponsored by Loves Rubber Stamps and they are offering a prize so make sure you head on over to Sketch Saturday and join in to be in with a chance of winning!

Kit Release: June 3 'Yoyos'

Hi Lovelies

I'm really excited about this week's kit - considering I usually like girly pink papers, this one is quite different from my usual favourites but now I have a BOY to scrap, these were pretty perfect for me!

The paper range is called 'About a Boy' by Echo Park:
The kit contains:
4 x About a Boy patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
A few About a Boy decorative brads.

My first layout is just awesome, even if I do say so myself - it's the photos that are awesome really! I loved the coloured chevrons so used that as my background and I cut up one of the journaling cards to give me a few more patterns/embellishments. I've used three tiny photos of my little SuperMax (they are about 2x3", printed on my new Canon Selphy printer!) and I've added a title using alphabet stickers from my stash which really remind me of a superhero font!

I also loved these coloured arrows - there was so much of this paper range I absolutely loved! So I used that as my background and built up the rest on top. I used some of the journaling cards, particularly the one 'So Proud of You' to embellish the layout and added as many brads and punched circles as I could. I finished off by adding a title using alphabet stickers from my stash.

And here is Kirei's layout using this kit. Check out her blog for more details on how she made it:

I hope you like this kit as much as I did! The kit costs £7.95 and can be purchased HERE.

Happy Father's Day from Sophie

Saturday 15 June 2013

Morning Sketchers!
This week we have the most awesome Sketch Saturday sketch for you - I kept putting it off and putting it off as I didn't know what to do with it but I did eventually come up with something and the DT inspiration is AMAZING!  Here it is:
and here is my creation! I've done this as Sophie's Father's Day card to Ben - that image is very much her, completely in love with her daddy, mainly because he always gives her exactly what she wants and I get to be the bad guy all the time but hey! The image is by Mo's Digital Pencil. I loved working with the hexagons, I have a hexagon embossing folder so I embossed a piece of cream card then fussy cut out all the patterned paper hexagons to fit inside (!) I hope he appreciates my efforts!

This week's fabulous sketch is sponsored by Sassy Studio who are offering a prize of their digi stamps so make sure you pop over and join in to be in with a chance of winning.

Happy stamping!

Kit Release: June 2 'Invincible'

Wednesday 12 June 2013

Morning scrappers!

This week's kit is GORGEOUS! It features some of the absolutely beautiful paper range 'Wishes and Dreams' by Prima:

The kit contains:
3 x Wishes & Dreams papers
2 x coordinating card
6 x mini Wishes & Dreams envelopes.

I've played on the wording on one of the patterned papers and used this as my title - Dream of Big Things - which I think is lovely. I've cut up one of the envelopes in order to get some additional patterns on my layout and also used one of the envelopes as an actual envelope with punched hearts flying out of it.

My second layout uses one of the more busy background papers as the background and therefore the rest of the layout is fairly simple. I've used three of the mini envelopes as an embellishment under the photos, not exactly what I had in mind for them when I started but I like the result! I've added alphabet stickers from my stash for my title.

And here is Kirei's layout using this kit. Check out her blog for more details on how she made it:

This week's kit costs just £5.00 and can be purchased HERE. Enjoy!

Happy 30th Birthday!

Saturday 8 June 2013

Morning all. Time for another sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week:
My very good friend Laura is turning 30 and this is the card I made for her. My card was square instead of a rectangle and I wanted to jazz up the background a bit so I added a couple of layers of patterned paper (I'm calling it artistic license!)

The image is by Stamping Bella - I wish my legs were that skinny!

This week's Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who is offering a great prize so pop on over to Sketch Saturday to join in the fun!
