December Album 2023 Completed Album

Friday 26 January 2024

Hey everyone! This is a flip-through of my December Album (December Daily) 2023 completed album. I've used two collections: mainly Paige Evans Sugar Plum Wishes, mixed with a small amount of Simple Stories Feeling Frosty, which is from a couple of years ago, but I love it and have kept hold of it! The colours mixed really well and I'm delighted to have a mixture in this 2023 album.

Frosty Days | GoGo Getaway Colour Challenge

Wednesday 24 January 2024

Here is my layout I made for our recent GoGo Getaway Cybercrop Colour Challenge. I’ve used the Winter Wonder collection by Simple Stories as well as lots of Perspextives by Bramble Fox.

I wanted to replicate the ‘wings’ of the snow angel in the photo so choose to go for this diagonal/triangle design with the photo in the middle – I love how this worked out! I added layered tags and Floral Ephemera around the photo and added the Bramble Fox ‘Frosty Days’ title under the photo I also added a few more Bramble Fox Perspextives, from the Right Now set.

I finished off with stickers, Word Strips, sequins and splatters of silver paint. I love it!

Happy scrapping

Unique Moments | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Happy Days

Tuesday 23 January 2024

Here is a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio using Happy Days! I focused on the colourful striped paper from the A5 Paper Stack and wanted to make a feature out of it on four sides of my layout.

I started off with wide strips of the stripes, and then I cut them into ‘steps’. The offcuts made for interesting step shapes too! I arranged these onto my layout but they didn’t quite look right on the far edges. So I drew a frame using a black pen, leaving a wide boarder, then I arranged the ‘step’ shapes around this frame. That worked really well.

I mounted my photo onto a rainbow sheet from the A5 Paper Stack so that it had a really colourful boarder to match the rest of the layout and slotted the photo into the step shapes on the left side of the layout.

I then began adding small areas of embellishments. I used Floral Ephemera in various places, some of the Die Cut Ephemera too. I also fussy cut some words from the Definitive Paper and added one to each of the four main ‘steps’. I also extended each of the words by adding a second word from the Mini Alphabet Stickers. So ‘Unique’ became ‘unique moments’, and ‘perfect’ became ‘perfect day’ etc.

I finished off with sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps, my handwritten journaling, and splatters of black paint which was a great contrast to all the bright colours in the layout! I love how this one turned out and it was super fun to make!

Happy scrapping

Fun Times | Simple Stories | Noteworthy Collection

Here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the fabulous Noteworthy collection! I love this collection, it is so perfect for everyday photos as it isn’t particularly themed! I have documented a fun day out with the girls…we went for a walk hunting for clues, it was so much fun!

I adore scrapbooking with yellow, so choose the yellow paperclip paper for my background. I decided to add a large white vertical strip and added some pink paper strips either side of the white. I distressed the edges of course and raised them on foam pads to ensure my layout had lots of dimension.

I had two photos, both quite large for me! I mounted them both and added them to the left side of the layout together with lots of gorgeous Noteworthy Embellishments: Stickers, Bits & Pieces, Floral Bits, Decorative Brads and Enamel Dots. I made clusters in two places around my photos.

Over on the right side of the layout I made another cluster, using the ‘fun times’ title from the Foam Stickers. I also added more embellishments in this cluster which helped to balance the two large clusters on the left.

I added a few sequins, splatters of white paint and handwrote my journaling.

Happy scrapping everyone!

Cheers! Simple Stories Simple Sets: Happy New Year

Monday 22 January 2024

Happy New Year everyone! This layout is for Simple Stories and I’ve used the Happy New Year collection, which is a Simple Set. The colours and papers in this collection are just fabulous and so fun to scrap New Year celebration photos with of course!

Now we don’t often get to go out for New Years as we have limited access to babysitters, but this year we actually managed to go out! We took the big kids with us and this was the first time they have ever stayed out until midnight to see in the New Year! We had so much fun, so it was great to scrap these photos! I took quite a lot of photos that night so decided to make a double layout. I don’t make double layouts very often, but I always enjoy making them when I do, so really I should do more!

I started with a double background of white card and I used two of the bright papers from the collection to create large blocks of colour on each side. I love the striped paper so much, it’s is so colourful! I also loved the numbers paper, again the colours are so bright and they look awesome against the black background. I fussy cut around the numbers to create a shaped border on each side.

I then added strips of the stripy paper across the layout as a base to put my photos on, and I cut up a few more of the stripes individually which I also placed on the background – but for these ones I rolled the ends – like a party blower!

I used stickers from the Cardstock Stickers to embellish my layout and used two titles from that sheet: ‘celebrate’ and ‘cheers’. I also cut up some of the 2x2 squares from one of the papers and used these as embellishments too.

I finished off with handwritten journaling and splatters of black paint!

Happy new year everyone!

Happy scrapping

It's Your Birthday! Simple Stories | Simple Set: Birthday

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the Simple Sets: Birthday collection. This collection is a ‘Simple Set’ which means it contains six sheets of patterned papers and a Cardstock Sticker Sheet – sometimes that is all you need! I think the Simple Sets are super fun to use with just enough for a few layouts!

For this layout I wanted to use all the gorgeous patterns in the collection so I cut strips in various sizes and widths and cut each one into a flag shape. | used a sheet of white cardstock for my background and arranged the flagged strips across the layout. I added the border sticker from the Cardstock Stickers across the top of the flags.

I added my photo on the left side of the flags, and then added my title to the right of my photo. The title is from the Cardstock Stickers and I just raised the stickers up on foam pads for a dimensional effect. I made a small cluster of embellishments to the left of my photo using more of the Cardstock Stickers.

I added a few other stickers to the flags, including some phrase strip stickers. I then added a sprinkling of sequins, handwrote my journaling and finished off with splatters of black paint for a splash of contrast – I love how the black splatters look with the bright colours in this Simple Set!

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping!

The Best of Days | Bramble Fox | February 2023 Fox Box

This diagonal photo strip creates a big impact on this Noteworthy layout! For this layout I’ve used the Noteworthy Collection by Simple Stories and the lovely ‘the best of days’ title from the February Fox Box. I’ve also used the ‘stay on track’ Perspextive, also from the February Fox Box.

I used a large diagonal strip of green patterned paper across the top of my layout. I had eight photos printed and I arranged these into two photo strips, I removed one photo and replaced it with the ‘stay on track’ Perspextive. But then I struggled to arrange the strips on the layout as I had originally thought they would be stacked. They were perhaps a little too big for that. So I had a re-think and turned them into one long strip that worked well along the diagonal line of the green patterned paper. I cut off the overhanging parts of the photos on each side of the layout which really helped with the diagonal effect: the photos go from end to end and this looks great!

I added one photo under the strip which worked well next to the title. I added a few clusters of embellishments around the strip and the lower photo too.

My handwrote my journaling over on the right side of the layout, added lots of gorgeous Spiegelmom Scraps sequins and splatters of white paint!

Happy scrapping

Wrap Up | Bramble Fox | Simple Stories Winter Wonder

Friday 12 January 2024

Wrap up warm with this wintery layout using the Bramble Fox So Cold, and Right Now Sets! For this layout I have used the Winter Wonder collection by Simple Stories and two beautiful sets by Bramble Fox, available in the shop now.

I choose a pink gingham background for this layout and added a large white vertical strip. I have build two clusters: one large one for the photo, and a smaller one for the title. I layered up both clusters with tags cut from the Tags paper and lots of gorgeous ephemera and floral ephemera.

The black clips and arrows from the Right Now set went really well with my layout: the black goes perfectly with the pops of dark colour within the paper collection. I love how the Treasured Memory clip looks like it is holding my photo, and the smaller ‘noted’ clip looks really cute on the corner of my photo.

I paired the black arrow ‘remember’ with my ‘Wrap Up’ pink title down in the other cluster. This worked really well because the arrow could point in the direction of my photo. I added my journaling under my title.

In each cluster I used a mixture of embellishments such as word strips, stickers, ephemera, decorative brads and beautiful sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps. I finished off with a few splatters of silver paint.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this layout come together, I love the Perspextives and the paper collection too.

Happy scrapping

Best Day Ever | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Happy Days

Tuesday 9 January 2024

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio using Happy Days! I love the Definitive paper with all the words on and used a large strip of it at the top of the layout. I cut two more narrow strips of colourful patterned paper and layered these below the word strip and I wrapped some pink embroidery thread around this area too.

I had three photos to use, one large and two smaller. I mounted the larger on onto yellow patterned paper from the Happy Days A5 Paper Stack to make it stand out. I tucked the photos under the word strip at the top of the layout to almost make them look like they are hanging from the strips.

I then built up some clusters of Floral Ephemera and the Die Cut Ephemera shapes too. I adore the Floral Ephemera, there are so many flowers and leaves in a packet and they are so cute and colourful!

For my title I used the ‘Best Ever’ chipboard title but I separated the words on opposite sides of the layout. I also added the little word ‘day’ in the middle of them so the title reads ‘best day ever’.

I added a few phrase stickers from the Accessory Sticker Sheet, handwrote my journaling, then added a few beautiful Spiegelmom Scraps Sequins and finally some splatters of white paint.

I love how the layout turned out and I’m super pleased to have scrapped these photos!

Thanks so much for joining me today, happy scrapping!
