Just Call me the Easter Bunny

Monday 17 April 2017

Happy, or Hoppy, Easter scrappy friends. Today I have a layout that combines a couple of challenges, firstly the first Freckled Fawn challenge is a sketch, which is a fab sketch becuase it features items from the April kit, so very easy to follow along with as long as you have the kit, which I do becuase I subscribe. And also Ruth (aka Furry Pig) set the weekly challenge today on UK Scrappers and asked me to make a sample layout. Her challenge was to use an Easter Theme, to follow the colour palette below and to use five different embellishments.

My layout uses the Freckled Fawn April kit, Cocoa Vanilla Studio Wild at Heart papers and a Silhouette Desig Store cut file. I slightly diverted from the sketch as I changed the photo placement slightly but I used it for inspiration and as a starting point.

Hope everyone is having a great Easter xx

Acetate and Interactive

Saturday 1 April 2017

The challenge this month over on For the Love of Pretty Paper was to use acetate in a creative way. I have also guest designed this month for UK Scrap Addicts, and their theme in March was to use multiple photos, so I combined these two elements together and came up with this layout. The background is all on one sheet of Crate Paper Maggie Holmes acetate, which was probably designed to be cut apart, but I've used it as one sheet. Some of the sentiments however were the wrong way around, so I have either covered these up or cut them out and used them elsewhere as an embellishment. I've been using an older My Minds Eye collection kit from last year, called 'on Trend 2' which is super bright and full of fun icons such as pineapples and flamingos 😊

Over on the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration group, a guest designer Morag Cutts, set a challenge to create a layout with two interactive elements. Well this really was a challenge but I rose to it and created this viewmaster layout which actually turns, and the arrow spins too - two views below to prove it!

And finally, this layout was made using the Stick it Down March single sketch as inspiration.
