Cool in the Pool | Hip Kit Club | Sketch Challenge

Sunday 30 August 2020

Hey everyone, I have a new layout for Hip Kit Club today using the July kits and playing along with the weekly challenge. This week's challenge is a sketch. I've also used an exclusive cutfile. You can play along too over on the Hip Kit Club Group on Facebook.

I added some mixed media to two areas on my white background. I wanted to use blue and green colours so had to go back to past Color Kits to find a few different shades. I also used the Tonic Nuvo Embellishment mousse through the Echo Park Stencil that came in the July Color Kit over the top of the water colour effect mixed media too.

I cut the exclusive cut file from white card. I then stuck the pieces onto a sheet of Pink Paislee And Many More paper, stitched around them and then cut them out. I arranged the cut file pieces onto the layout together with my photos and some striped Dear Lizzy paper.

I finished with a few embellishments by Maggie Holmes Sweet Story as well as some sequins. I love how it turned out, the cut file was completely perfect for my photos.

Thanks so much for joining me today and don't forget that you can play along over on the Hip Kit Club Group on Facebook.

Happy scrapping

You Rock | Lottie Loves Paper | Simple Stories Bro & Co

Saturday 29 August 2020

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Lottie Loves Paper. I've used the awesome Bro & Co Collection by Simple Stories that is available in the Lottie Loves Paper Shop.

I used that gorgeous diagonal stripe paper which I cut into the coloured strips, distressed the edges and pieced back together onto a piece of white card. I left off the bottom black piece so that I had some white space on the layout.

I then set about making three star shapes sequin shaker pockets with Spiegelmom Scraps Sequins. I cut three different sized stars from Bro & Co Patterned papers and also cut three pieced of acetate the same size. I stitched the acetate stars to the patterned paper stars using machine stitching, leaving a small opening. I filled the stars with sequins then stitched up the opening so that my sequins were trapped inside.

I positioned the sequins star shakers onto my layout together with my two photos and then I added lots of chipboard, stickers and fussy cut stars to the background. I also added some of the Bro & Co brads and finished off with some splatters of black ink. I LOVE how this one turned out, those star shakers are awesome!

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping. Enjoy the process video below.

Summer Fun | GoGo Getaway August Cybercrop Moodboard Challenge

Saturday 22 August 2020

Hey everyone, today is our August 2020 GoGo Getaway Cybercrop! We are holding one every month whilst this crazy pandemic is still ongoing and while we can't meet in person. Each month over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook Group, we host four challenges, each with a prize and a game of BinGoGo. Head over there now to play along.

My challenge this time is a moodboard challenge which is full of pinks and greens and tropical summer images. Be inspired by the colours or by anything on the moodboard. I've used the colours, palm leaves and flamingos on my layout.

For my layout I've used the Shimmerz Paints July 2020 Color Kitz and lots of things from the July 2020 Lollipop Box Club kit 'take me away'. The colours and items in both of these kits were perfect for this challenge.

I fussy cut out the beautiful leaves from the patterned papers. I added mixed media to my background and arranged my photo together with the leaves and some journaling cards . I added flamingo paper clips and a wooden flamingo too and a flamingo sticker (enough flamingos?)

I also added buttons, punched flowers, a few little heart stickers and loads of Spiegelmom Scraps sequins.

I angled my layout onto a pink Dear Lizzy patterned paper and I added pink tissue paper to the edges too along with another palm leaf.

Thanks so much for joining me today, head over to the GoGoGetaway Facebook group to play along.

Happy scrapping

Whatever | Hip Kit Club | July Main Kit Only

Hey everyone, I have a new layout for Hip Kit Club today. Today's assignment was to use the July Main Kit only and also to create a masculine layout and to use stitching to create an interesting background.

You can find the July Kits on the Hip Kit Club website .

I have used the fabulous blue and green patterned paper by Pink Paislee 'and many more' collection. I paired it with the Dear Lizzy Here and Now navy paper with white diagonal stripes. When I create a masculine layout I usually go for greens and blues so these two papers were perfect.

I used a journaling card from the Dear Lizzy Cut Apart sheet and two photos of two of my lovely boys (there is a third one but he wouldn't pose!) I machine stitched several tines behind the photos and the large journaling card to create my 'interesting background' I'm not such I quite achieved 'interesting'!

Because I was only supposed to use my July Main kit and it's about the 5th layout I've made with this kit - I was a little limited on the embellishments I had left to use! So I got creative with the stamp set that came in the Main Kit and made my own embellishments. I stamped all the stamps several time onto white card in navy ink and then cut then out. This was a great way to make extra embellishment when I was a little light on my kit.

I also punched a few stars from patterned papers and used those as embellishments too. I also stamped the phrase 'picture perfect' onto the layout directly multiple times.

I finished with some enamel dots, a title from the Simple Stories Kate & Ash collection phrase stickers and I also made some splatters with my navy ink pad.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout and it will inspire you to scrap the boys in your life. There is also a process video that can be viewed below.

Happy scrapping
