Kirei's layout using the December 4 Kit 'Borderline'

Friday, 30 December 2011

Hi Everyone!

I loved the colours of the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 2 'Breeze' papers in this week's Kit. I really wanted to use the 'Dream' paper with the glittered frames but couldn't quite decide how to use them... in the end I matched them up with my own framed photo. The photos are of our Godson Freddie and I love how Lee and Freddie are looking so intently at each other.... very cute!

I mounted the photo onto the blue Bazzill and the brown 'Fun Day' paper. The photo corner embellishment was cut from the 'Fun Day' papers and to finish it off I used some linen thread from my stash and a brad to make it look like it was hanging on the wall (just like the printed frames). I then added a cropped photo to the glittered frame on the left side. To finish off I made the title by mounting some of the lined 'Fun Day' paper on to the brown 'Fun Day' paper. The bird and photo corner were cut from the 'Fun Day' paper, and I used most of the brads in the Kit to embellish the corners of the title. The letter stickers were leftover from the December 2 Kit 'Abundance'.

You can find the kit to make this layout in the Pages of Memories Online Store.

Thanks for looking!

Hi Everyone

Here is what I did with the fabulous 'Borderline' kit:

I figured I could get a double layout out of this kit and I had a lot of photos.  Here is a close up of the left page:

 and the right page:

I wanted to make use of the glittered motifs on one of the pages so cut them out and used them as embellishments on my layout:

and I even managed to use this one as a title:

The brads were great in this kit as they were the perfect embellishments to really add something to the page.

This kit can be purchased here and costs £7.

Kirei's layout for the December Week 3 kit - 'Merry'

Friday, 23 December 2011

Hi everyone!

The December 'Merry' weekly scrapbook kit is fab, with lovely glittery 'Lost and Found' Christmas papers from My Minds Eye, matching cardstock stickers (with more glitter!), along with some buttons and lengths of ribbon. I had some photos from Christmas time last year that were waiting to be scrapped and were just right to go with this kit! I chose the 'Christmas Trees' paper as the background, then used a piece of the 'Merry' paper to mount my photos on. The middle photo was mounted onto olive green Bazzil. I attached a piece of the olive green ribbon to the left side of the photos, then layered up the lovely stickers around the layout.

I used a snowflake punch to make some additional embellishments and tied some linen thread through the buttons to finish them off.

I added some red letter stickers from my own stash (similar are available at 'Pages of Memories') and used the Prima letters that came with the first December kit.

And there was still plenty left in the kit to get a couple of Christmas cards made as well!

Thanks for looking!

Niki's Page using December 3 Kit 'Merry'

Thursday, 22 December 2011

I absolutely loved these papers, Lost & Found range, glitter, Christmas theme, what could be better! Plus I had some very cute pictures of my little girl all dressed up for Christmas with her Christmas bear who tells the story of The Night Before Christmas...

I managed a double layout with this kit and still had quite a lot left over.

The Glittered Die Cut Titles are ready made embellishments so really this layout was very straightforward!

The foam letters are from my stash of Thickers, a variety of which you can find here.

I made the trims into little flags which feature on both pages and tied my white cord through all the buttons.

I'm trying to do a daily Christmas album this December and methinks I'll be using a lot more of these papers in that!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone xx

Niki's Page using December 2 kit 'Abundance'

Thursday, 15 December 2011

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using the December 2 kit 'Abundance'

I cut the tags out from one of the patterned papers and used them as embellishments and I think I got both sides of all the papers showing except the leafy one (as it didn't really go with my photo)

The strip across the bottom is just layers of card but I also cut out several of the dots from the dotty paper with a small circle punch.

I added the little aeroplane embellishment at the top right from my stash as it went perfectly with my photo!

The title was from the alphabet set that came in the kit.

You can buy this kit here and it costs £7 although you'll get it cheaper if you subscribe!

Thanks for stopping by

Niki xx

Kirei's layout for the December Week 1 kit - 'Garden Gate'

Friday, 9 December 2011

Hi everyone!

You are going to be seeing 2 x layouts from me each month using the fab weekly kits from the Pages of Memories Kit Club. This is my first layout for December and is made using the Week 1 Kit. I loved the 'Pixie Glen' papers from Prima, really soft and pretty and immediately made me think of a cute photo I had of a friends youngest little girl...this is what I came up with:

I used the side on the 'Dartmoor' paper with the jounalling cards and cut them all out as I like to layer lots of elements so could see them coming in useful! I layered up some of these and the other papers onto the pale pink Bazzill card and then added some Prima flowers (you can get these in the Pages of Memories Online Shop) and to go with these I had a stab at making some flowers with the leftover papers and I think they turned out ok.

I also added some trims from my stash and used a Martha Stewart border punch, similar ones are available in the Online Shop.

Now I really liked the 'Garden Gate' paper with the pixies on it but I knew Niki had used this paper as her main background so decided to use the other papers as my feature...but I still wanted to get the pixies on my page so decided to cut them out!

Now there were plenty of bits leftover so decided to make a card as well...

Thanks for looking!

Niki's Page using December 1 Kit 'Garden Gate'

Thursday, 8 December 2011

Hi Everyone

So here is my page using the fabulous 'Garden Gate' kit that was released yesterday:

I just LOVE these papers, they are so cute! Perfect for a picture of my little girl looking her very cutest.  There were no embellishments with this kit as the Prima Alphabet is quite pricey but there are lots of patterns and embellishments that can be cut out from one of the patterned papers.  I made the most of these and added loads!

I inked around the edges of pretty much everything as the colours were so subtle, this made everything pop of the page much better.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Niki's Page using November 5 kit: 'Remember'

Thursday, 1 December 2011

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using the November 5 kit, 'Remember'

I like the pinks in this kit and it was ideal to scrap a fab picture I had of some cupcakes and the huge mess I made of my kitchen making them!

The 'Remember' title didn't work for this layout so I covered up the wording with my own title (which I cut out using my Cricut Machine) but still managed to keep the effect of the shape.

I added circle embellishments cut using circle punches and the buttons too.

I wanted to explain the story behind these cupcakes so I added a large journalling panel on the right hand side:

The kit can be purchased here and costs £7.00 but make sure you check out the information about our monthly subscription as it's much better value.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx
