Last of the Huge Christmas Cards
Saturday 27 December 2014
Morning all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. The Saturday Girls are back with another challenge today with this fab sketch designed by Debra. This is the last of my enormous Christmas cards that I do every year for close family, this one is for my sister in law and her fiancee. Because the card is so large, I needed to add something to the sketch so it wasn't so white! I couldn't find an image that would work perfectly with the sketch so added a coloured panel to represent the box for the image, and added this gorgeous postbox on top (by Just Inklined), oh and a few glittery stars of course!
This week's Sketch Saturday sketch is sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts who are offering a great prize so pop on over and join in with the challenge. And, finally have a - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Lots of Christmas Sparkle
Saturday 13 December 2014
This is the most glittery paper I've ever used - once I'd finished this card, there was literally glitter everywhere! I went for both gold and silver glitter, a combo I don't usually use. The image is by Just Ink Lined who have an enormous range of beautiful Christmas Stamps, as well as many others too.
This card is a really big 'special' Christmas card. I do a few large special cards each year for close family. This one is for my husband's grandparents. I adapted the sketch a bit by splitting the background into two and scaling down the image a bit.
This week's Sketch Saturday sketch is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who are offering a great prize so pop on over and join in with the challenge. This week's challenge will actually run for two weeks as we're having a break for Christmas so Merry Christmas all.

A Very Sassy Birthday
Saturday 6 December 2014
Wow! I certainly have tested my colouring skills this week. This week's sponsor is Art by MiRan who has very beautiful images. I was slightly scared of them to be honest as I didn't think I'd be able to do them justice, but I think I just about managed. This card is for my sister-in-law who is still very young and glam. I went for super glittery paper for the background layers and added black stitched ribbon to add to the glamour, and finished off with some black gem flourishes.

A Penguin Christmas
Saturday 29 November 2014
This week over at Sketch Saturday is a 'free week' which means you can choose any sketch frrom #215 onwards. You can see the sketches over on Sketch Saturday here.
On to the second penguin card, another cutie. This one is from Sophie, she was most annoyed that I hadn't done it in pink for her!

This week's sponsor is Drawn with Character, and they have some of the cutest images. I'd been looking for something to do for Christmas cards from my kiddies to my mum and dad. I couldn't find one image that was suitable so I ended up with two separate ones - double the work for me but it was worth it! Who can resist a super cute penguin at Christmas!! This one is from my little boy Max - I did the sentiment on my pc and printed it to size.

A Countdown to Christmas
Friday 28 November 2014
Ooooo it's nearly December and therefore the countdown to Christmas is about to start...exciting! A while back I bought a naked wooden advent calendar box with a view to making it pretty, and finally I have got around to doing that using the gorgeous Tinsel & Company collection by Teresa Collins.
To see the finished project, which turned out brilliantly, pop over to the Hey Little Magpie blog and there are also details there about how I made it and links to where you can buy the materials to decorate the box (the actual Artemio Advent Calendar box was bought at a local craft fair but is available on Amazon here.)

A Glass of Wine a Day...
Saturday 22 November 2014
I love Bugaboo images - they literally have something for everything and they are such fun too. This image is for a friend's birthday and boy does she love her wine, so I printed it really big, to add to the hilarity!

Happy birthday to Mum
Saturday 15 November 2014
When I found out that A Day for Daisies were going to be sponsoring Sketch Saturday throughout 2014, I was really unsure about the images, I thought I'd have issues colouring them, but I am totally in love with them! They are so gorgeous and so different from what I usually work with. This one is called Daisy Bird Bath and I've lightly coloured it and added a bit of sparkle. The papers are Stampin' Up.

Christmas Sparkle
Saturday 8 November 2014
My little girl is a complete fairy princess - she loves anything that is pink, sparkly, or princess/fairy like. I therefore had to make her the pink-est, sparkliest Christmas card I could, with an image of a fairy or a princess. I found this gorgeous fairy image by Wee Stamps who was perfect. I picked out some pink background paper and some sparkly paper from an American Crafts glitter paper pad, and added some gem swirls. I finished off with some snowflakes and a few more gems - she'll love it!

A Snowflake Flurry
Saturday 1 November 2014
I absolutely love this sketch designed by Marzena - the hexagons can be any shape of course so I choose to go for snowflakes and make an icy-blue Christmas card. This one is 8x8" so it's a big one and my snowflakes looked a little lost on such a large background, so I added two strips to the top and bottom of the card to make the snowflake area a bit smaller. I could have added more snowflakes of course but my punch is a little worse for wear!
