Niki's page using last night's kit

Thursday 27 October 2011

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using last night's kit:

The papers are the Victorian Gardens range by Echo Park. I was supposed to use the Victorian Gardens Element Stickers on this page too but somehow they had slipped under the mountain of stuff on my desk and I forgot all about them!  So instead I added a few things to it myself:

The Prima Flowers were part of the kit but I added the swirls and the other bits and pieces including the huge yellow paperclip that I've had in my scrapbooking stash forever!

The alphabet is a chipboard set by American Crafts Thickers.
I love the little journalling tags - I just had those in my stash too but they were perfect for this layout.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my scrapbook page.

Niki's page for Wednesday 19th October 2011

Tuesday 18 October 2011

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using tomorrow evening's kit:

The only things I've added are the Prima flowers and the Alphabet which was actually left over from a previous week's kit

I wanted to make full use of the gorgeous flower cluster in the bottom left corner of the Glitz paper and didn't want to cover any of it with my photo so I carefully cut round it with a craft knife and slipped my photo underneath. I then added some Prima flowers together with some of the trims that came in the kit

This is what I did with the rest of the trims - no sewing involved, I simply stuck down the strips with double sided tape then stapled in place with my Tim Holtz tiny attatcher (I shall bring this tomorrow evening)

I punched some hearts from some of the left over paper and also cut out some shapes using nestabilities to put the title on.  You can see in some of the pictures above that I have added some journalling to this page - I just cut a few different sized strips of one of the papers and arranged them over my photograph, then I handwrote my journalling.

I hope you like it - see you tomorrow

Niki's page for next week's kit (12th Oct)

Thursday 6 October 2011

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using next week's kit:

I love this kit - such bright colours and perfect to scrap my recent holiday!

I've added a few things to this kit - all the ric rak/trims are from my stash and so are the big buttons and the large alphabet font but that's it.  The flip flops are just a rubber stamp that I stamped in different inks and cut out, as is the 'Life's a Breeze' sentiment in the bottom left corner and the sun.

I created a bit of texture on the page by adding some trims in the top left corner - sometimes embellishing over the photo creates a different effect and I quite like it!

I clustered all my bits here and added a large title.  On one of the journalling cards that's in the kit, I added a longer title with the mini letters that come in the kit. Because the letters are little I managed to add quite a lot of detail in here. These letters go on forever, I used them on my page last week too and still have loads left!

Hope you like it and see you next week

Niki's page from Wednesday 5th October

Hi Everyone

Here is the page I did using last night's kit:

I have added to it a bit, although not too much.  All I added were a couple of those lovely pink brads from a kit a fair few weeks ago now, and a button and a brad from my stash, everything else was in the kit.

I wasn't too sure what to do with the crepe garland so I added some double sided tape to a circle punched out of some card and gathered the crepe round in a circle to create my own embellishment.  I added a couple of punched circles, a brad and a bow from one of the other trims we had and part of a shape cut with a nestability.

I created another embellishment up here by using part of one of the banners that were on one of the papers, some of the papers/card, two brads and a small piece of the brown trim.

I added the date of the photos to the other banner and stuck that down the bottom, and also a flat double bow with a button in the middle. If anyone would like to know how to make these then just ask me next week - they're really easy and there's no sewing involved Lisa!

I hope you like it - I'm really pleased with the way the page turned out.

See you next week
