Frosty Winter Days | Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Winter Woods

 

Hey everyone! Here is a layout I made for Simple Stories using the Simple Vintage Winter Woods collection. This collection is perfect for snowy or frosty photos!

I wanted to showcase some of the beautiful patterns in this collection from the 6x8 Paper Pad so I selected a few and punched some snowflakes from each. I then used the Simple Vintage Winter Woods Stencil and a blue ink pad to create some stencilled snowflakes onto a white background. Amongst the stencilled snowflakes I added the punched snowflakes. Some are layered and offset to give extra dimension.

I added my photo layered with one of the Chipboard Clusters in the middle of the layout together with some ephemera from the Bits & Pieces packs. I added a large title to the right of the photo together with lots more embellishments including Foam Stickers, Decorative Brads, Bits & Pieces and Enamel Dots.

I was going to leave it there but I had quite a few leftover punched snowflakes so I stuck them randomly all over the background together with some little water droplet gems from my stash. I finished off with splatters of white acrylic paint.

Love Never Melts | Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Winter Woods

 

Hey everyone here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the very beautiful Simple Vintage Winter Woods collection.  This collection is so unbelievably pretty with all the soft pastel snowy tones and I couldn’t wait to dive right in!

I was instantly drawn to the cross hatch paper and decided to use that for my background. I trimmed it down and distressed the edges, then mounted it onto a piece of paper from the 12x12 Basics Pack.

I cut a circle from white card, which I then cut into pieces and distressed. I then added this to my background as a central feature.

I then added my photo which I layered with one of the Chipboard Clusters and some ephemera from the Bits & Pieces pack. I tucked in several snowflakes from the Woodland Bits & Pieces to the slices of my circle and created a couple of embellishment clusters with these, some Foam Stickers and more Bits & Pieces.

My title ‘love never melts’ is from the Foam Stickers, how adorable is that phrase! I added more Foam Stickers, Decorative Brads and Enamel Dots.

I finished off with splatters of silver paint. I’m delighted with how this layout turned out, this collection is super pretty and perfect for frosty photos.

Baking Memories | Simple Stories | Baking Spirits Bright

 

Hey everyone! Have you seen the Baking Spirits Bright collection by Simple Stories? I absolutely adore it! It is obviously Christmas themed and is about Christmas baking! Even if you aren’t a baker yourself though, it is packed full of fun icons, embellishments and prints that work for generic Christmas photos too.

My favourite icons in this collection are the gingerbread men! There’s a whole pack of Gingerbread Bits & Pieces which are just so fun! We ‘make’ a gingerbread house every year (well actually I buy a pre-made kit and we just stick it together and decorate it!) so this collection is perfect to document those photos!

I really wanted to use the paper with the gingerbread people all over it but as a full sheet it may have been too busy for a background, so I cut off the top half of the paper, carefully fussy cutting around all the people. The result was a gingerbread people – shaped border! I added this to a piece of red paper from the Baking Spirits Bright collection which gave me a busy top half of the layout and a more plain lower half of the layout.

I mounted my photo into one of the Chipboard Frames and positioned this on the right side of my layout. I added a title from the Foam Stickers underneath and added embellishments from the Foam Stickers, Bits & Pieces and Gingerbread Bits & Pieces around the frame.

I also made a little embellishment cluster of little items from the Bits & Pieces underneath the title, and I added some raised stars to the gingerbread background too. I finished off with a couple of lines of journaling and some splatters of white paint.

Joy | For the Love of Pretty Paper Sketch Challenge

 

Hi everyone, I’ve been playing along with the December sketch over at For the Love at Pretty Paper. The December sketch is Christmas themed and has baubles on it!

I’ve used the Baking Spirits Bright collection by Simple Stories, which is adorable! I made layered circles for two of the baubles and the third is a folded paper rosette. I’ve decorated the layout with loads of Bramble Fox Perspextives, I just adore all the Christmas ones!
