November week 3 kit 'Mother Earth' - Niki's Page

Thursday 17 November 2011

Hi Everyone

I am absolutely in love with these papers by Fancy Pants! They are in the 'Summers End' range and as you might have guessed from the name they have an autumnal feel about them.

My photo that I wanted to use for this kit was taken on a summers day rather than an autumn one so I selected the brightest sides from the papers to steer away from an autumn theme.  This is the page I came up with:

I used the reverse of the journalling cards sheet to get the big spotty panel in the middle but made sure I cut the sheet carefully to preserve some of the cards on the back.  One of those had that lovely leaf on it which I cut out and made into an embellishment.  One of the other journalling cards is the doily patterned panel just poking out from the right side of the photo.

Here's the leaf embellishment up close...I added faux stitching on the leaf itself and around it using a brown pen. I then got a bit carried away and added more stitching to the date strip, and a shape under the photo and also around the title lettering!

That fabulous edger punch is by Martha Stewart and is called 'Garden Rail' and we have it in stock here.

There was no alphabet with this kit so I added a short title using an alphabet from my stash but this is the only thing I have added to this kit.

You can buy this kit for £7.00 here but see the same webpage for details of our monthly subscription if you want to save yourself some money!

My Minds Eye pages for 16/11/11

Tuesday 15 November 2011

Working with My Minds Eye papers is great fun, because they are so yummy !
I did add a bit of glitter for extra sparkle, not that it needed it, but you can never have enough bling on a page. The Bazzill colours I chose really complimented these pages and using the EK Success border punches, which we have in stock, just adds that finishing touch.

November Week2 Kit - Card using My Guy Ian by The Greeting Farm

Monday 14 November 2011

Hi Everyone

I had a few leftovers from my November Week 2 kit so I put together this card:

I used a stamp from the 'My Guy Ian' set by the Greeting Farm which we have in stock here.

I coloured him with my water based inks and an aqua painter, cut the border on the right with the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice punch (which we have in stock here) and added a chipboard bracket from my stash. I think that even though the papers are glittered this still became quite a male card.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Niki's Page using November2 Page Kit 'You & Me'

Thursday 10 November 2011

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using yesterday's kit, 'You & Me'

I made the title by cutting out the motif on the spotty paper, adding the crepe trim round the outside of it and adding a title from some alphabets I had in my stash.

Here's a close up...

The wording on the Glittered Titles that came with the kit didn't go with my photos but I still managed to use them anyway by hiding the wording but still showing off the lovely shapes:

Making the bakers twine curl like that was a challenge but with a bit of patience and some PVA glue I managed to succeed!

All I added to this kit was the alphabets, everything else came with.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Pages for Nov 9th

Tuesday 8 November 2011

This weeks pages were created using Echo Park papers and stickers. Although the trims weren't from the same range, they worked well on the pages. I chose three colours from the Bazzill Basics range, to co-ordinate with the Echo Park papers.

Niki's page using November Week 1 kit 'Cheerful Words'

Thursday 3 November 2011

Hi Everyone!

Here is Niki's page using the Pages of Memories November Week 1 page kit 'Cheerful Words'.

The kit contains:
2 x Echo Park patterned papers from the beautiful Victorian Gardens range
3 x coordinating Bazzill cardstock
and a sheet of the Echo Park Victorian Gardens Alphabet and embellishments stickers

Here is what I did with the kit:

I wanted it to have an autumnal feel as the photos I had were taken on a glorious October day a couple of weeks ago.  Initially I didn't think I could make this kit an autumn layout but by adding an A4 sheet of dark brown and not using much of the bright yellow, I think I successfully managed it!

Can you see that line of dots? Well they are taken from the middles of the brown scallop border strip that you will find on the Alphabet stickers sheet.

Here is my title - I took both the big and little letters from the Echo Park Alphabet stickers that are in the kit as well as the fancy 'A' (there are a lot of letters and other lovely things on there!)

And finally, here is a close up of an embellishment I made of one of my photos, careful cutting of some of the words from the Cheerful Words paper and a flourish from the Alphabet stickers sheet.

In total I added the A4 sheet of brown and a few trims from my stash to this layout but the rest is included in the kit which can be purchased here.  You will also find details of how to subscribe to our monthly Scrapbooking Kit Club in the same place.

I had a few leftovers so I have also made a card - check back tomorrow to see it!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Niki's Halloween Pages for Wednesday 2nd November

Hi Everyone

Firstly a big WELL DONE to Sandra for actually blogging this week!
(he he he! sorry Sandra!)
Here are my pages for this week - can you believe it, I did two rather than my usual one!

Here is the first one:

I used the Glitz Teeny Alpha in Mint Grunge to add my titles and also used the Martha Stuart Garden Rail edger punch on the right hand side of my journalling panel.

I also made my own embellishments using circle punches and some funky Halloween rubber stamps that I got from the States - I will bring all these tonight for people to use. Here's a close up:

And here is my other page:

again I've used the Martha Stewart Garden Rail punch across the top - in black I think it is quite a good Halloween punch!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you like it and see you later tonight!
