Kit Release: February Week 4 'Bailey's Brush'

Wednesday 27 February 2013

Morning all

Wednesday means another kit release and this week's kit features some of the Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook' collection by American Crafts. It's a really fun paper range with lots of bright colours:
The kit contains:
3 x Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook' patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
A few Jenni Bowlin chipboard tabs
some trims

My first layout utilised the frame on one of the patterned papers. Sometimes I find frames quite hard to work with but this one was subtle enough to be able to work within it and I love the result. I choose to use some of the stripes on one of the other patterned papers to add a layer underneath the photos and I added covered chipboard tabs to the photos.

My second layout uses the leftover manufacturer strips to create a step effect with the photos. I've also used some more of the stripes from the stripy patterned paper and layered up some leftover bits and pieces to form a place to add my title. I've used alphabet stickers from my stash.

Kirei's layout also uses that bright stripes paper and she's cut off part of the frame that I used in my first layout to add detail to the top and bottom edges of her layout. Check out her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit costs £5.75 and can be purchased here. Happy scrapping xxx

Sketch Saturday - Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy!

Saturday 23 February 2013

Morning campers! I'm teaching my first class of 2013 today and am really looking forward to it! I've had a bit of a break recently due to some pregnancy complications but it's fairly safe to return to a normal life now but hopefully the exertion won't bring on any more contractions! (otherwise I'm going to be in trouble with hubby!)

Anyway, on to this week's Sketch Saturday challenge. As always we have another fantastic sketch for you this week:
and here is my DT card. Now I didn't spend as much time colouring this image as I would have liked as I was rushing so it's not up to my usual standard but it is a really cute image, I'm just sorry I didn't do it justice.  It's by the fabulous Wings & Willows. I did add Glossy Accents to all the bubbles which hasn't photographed very well but looks brilliant in real life!

This week's Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Wings & Willows who are offering the winner a prize so make sure you pop on over and join in the fun!

Kit Release: February Week 3 'Tip Me Over'

Wednesday 20 February 2013

This week's kit features some of the really cute papers from the 'Time for Spring' collection by Fancy Pants:
The kit contains:
3 x Time for Spring patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
Lace Trim
RicRac trim
Velvet Flowers
a few American Crafts brads.

I decided to split the background of my first layout - the top half is one of the patterned papers whereas the bottom part is cardstock. I really loved the hexagons on one of the other papers so I cut a few out and made an embellishment cluster in the top right corner of the layout. I finished off by adding ricrac, flowers and brads plus a title using alphabet stickers from my stash.

My second layout focuses on the teapots - I had some perfect photos so a tea themed layout was ideal. I wanted to show off the bunting which is already printed on the background paper so I was careful to ensure my layout was weighted towards the bottom of the paper. Again I utilized that fab hexagon paper and embellished with lace, ricrac, flowers and brads. Again the title came from alphabet stickers I had in my stash. I also cut a out a few teapots to embellish the bottom.

Kirei's layout also uses that great hexagon paper! She's cut out quite a chunk of it and also a few individual ones for embellishment. Take a look at her blog for more details.

This week's kit costs £6.30 and can be purchased here. Enjoy!

Happy scrapping!

Kenny K - Going Round in Circles!

Sunday 17 February 2013

Morning Kenny K fans!

This week's Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge is:

'Going Round in Circles'

and here's what I came up with for my DT entry:

I don't think I could fit any more circles on here if I tried! I loved colouring this image which is called Anime Soccer. The only thing I wasn't happy with is that I wanted the light stripes on his t-shirt to be white but I got a bit carried away with my grey markers and they've come out silver/grey instead. I need more practice colouring in white clearly!

This week's Kenny K challenge is sponsored firstly by KennyK Downloads who are giving away 5 digis of your choice and secondly by Flonz Craft who are offering a $20 gift certificate for their shop!

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

A Gem of a challenge: Dies & Punches
 Broken Box Stock: Happy Birthday
Card Makin Mamas: Birthday
Chocolate Coffee & Cards: Hobbies
Cards Galore Challenge: One for the Men
Sandy's Crafty Creations: Anything Birthday Goes

Sketch Saturday - another Thank You

Saturday 16 February 2013

Morning all

We have another fantastic Sketch Saturday sketch for you this week:
and here is what I came up with for my DT entry:

The image is by Little Claire's and was a little troublesome to cut out again but it was worth it! The papers are by My Mind's Eye ('Fine & Dandy' I think)

I finished off by adding a couple of epoxy brads - they aren't quite in the same place as the circles in the sketch but I didn't want to cover the patterned paper!

This week's Sketch Saturday sketch is sponsored by Sassy Studio Design and they have 4 digi images to give away to this week's winner so make sure you stop by and join in!

Kit Release: 'Impression'

Wednesday 13 February 2013

This week's kit release features some of the gorgeous range 'The Sweetest Thing' by My Mind's Eye:
The kit contains:
2 x My Mind's Eye 'The Sweetest Thing' patterned papers
2 x coordinating Bazzill cardstock
a My Mind's Eye journaling card
A roll of washi tape (colours may vary)

I went circle crazy on my first layout and cut out loads f the circles from the patterned paper to stick around the edge of the cardstock. The words on the journaling card didn't suit my layout so I chopped it up (!) and used the plain part instead. I used washi tape at the top and the bottom of the layout and also across the middle:

My second layout uses one of the patterned papers as the background with a few layouts of the remaining pieces down the bottom. Again the words on the journaling card didn't suit so I used the last plain piece I had left. I also cut out another circle from the circles patterned paper and made a little embellishment cluster in the top left corner and added washi tape to those places too.

Here is Kirei's layout: she had pink washi tape in her kit and obviously the words on the journaling card suited her layout so she's used it in full! Check out her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit is called 'Impression', costs £7.15 and is available to purchase HERE.

Happy scrapping xx
