1st Birthday card

Monday 30 April 2012

Hi Everyone

I thought I'd share with you a card I made for a 1st birthday this week:

I used a cute stamp set by Stampin' Up and some old SU retired papers.

The sentiment I simply printed off my PC.

I followed the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, which was a fab one this week girls!

The scalloped punch along the bottom is the 'Open Scallop' by EK Success which we have in the shop here

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Stamp-a-Stack Part 2

Sunday 29 April 2012

Hi again everyone

As promised, I am back with part 2 of my Stamp-a-Stack class to showcase the final two cards:

I like the simplicity of this one (Stamp-a-Stack cards have to be simple because of time-constraints!) and that punch I've used top and bottom is simple yet very effective - I think it's one of my most used punches. It's the Open Scallop by EK Success and I've got them in stock here.

And here is my final card:

The Laugh, Live, Love stamp is a cute one and is available here. The fancy edge is done with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set but unfortunately I am out of stock of those at the moment. I do have some other designs here though.

Hope you like the cards and let me know if you'd like to join us one night for Stamp-a-Stack - a bargain at only £12 per person!

Thanks for stopping by xx

Stamp-a-Stack Class Part 1

Saturday 28 April 2012

Hi All

I thought I'd share with you the cards we made at my 'Stamp-a-Stack' class that I held on Thursday evening.

Stamp-a-Stack classes are great fun as we make 10 cards in total: 2 each of 5 different designs, in TWO HOURS!!. The tools and materials for each card are in separate shoeboxes, representing a 'station'. You have 20 minutes per station (actually technically I think it's 24 minutes but I allow for changeover etc) to make your two cards and when the buzzer goes off the 'stations' move round to the next person.

Here is the first one:

When I designed this one I followed the sketch over at the Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog - fab sketch by the way ladies, and so I am going to enter it into their challenge this week. I also have to say what is my new or neglected stash - the Daisy Chain punch is brand new and a welcome addition to my stash. It's a Martha Stewart one and I have them in stock here.  and that flower stamp is also a new one from a set called Real Garden Petals by Hero Arts which I have in stock here!

Next card is this one:

I think buttons in the middle of flowers always finish them off nicely and you can pick up a Coffee & Cream pack here.  Also that shape the Birthday Wishes is in has been cut with an EK Success punch- another new addition to my stash! (Available here.)

And finally, for Part 1, is this card:

I've used up some old Stampin Up supplies in for this card.

Hope you like them and I'll be back tomorrow with Part 2 - the final two cards

Kirei's layout with the April Wk 4 Kit - 'Train'

Friday 27 April 2012

Hi Everyone!

We had some lovely glittery papers from My Minds Eye to work with for this week's Kit and one of them had a vintage train image which made me think they would be perfect for a boy layout. I actually set up some photos of our godson with a toy train but when I tried them with the papers they were just not right! So back to the drawing board... I have plenty of photos to scrap so I ended up using some cute ones of my friend Andrea's little boy Joe that were perfect.

I used the glitter spot side of the 'Boyish' paper for my base and decided to cut around the edges of the glittered title in the lefthand corner so that I could pop the photos under it. Cut carefully round the edges from the 'D' in 'Delightful' to the 'L' (going around the top only and leaving the bottom edge attached).

I then cut a 9" x 12" piece of the brown Bazzill which I border punched along the long edges.  I then gutted a section from the middle of the glitter spot 'Boyish' paper that would be hidden underneath the brown Bazzill. Then I cut a 7" x 8.5" piece of the striped 'Precious' paper which I attached to the right side of the brown Bazzill. From the piece of glitter spot 'Boyish' paper (that I gutted from the base for my layout) I cut a few strips of the crowns and this was attached to the top and bottom of the brown Bazzill. You will need to piece some lengths together as they won't be 12" long. I attached my two photos (6" x 4" and 7" x 5" trimmed down) and then attached the whole section to the glitter spot 'Boyish' paper that I am using as the base for my layout. Don't forget to tuck it under the corner title that you cut our earlier.

To finish off I cut the train from the 'Precious' paper and attached this to the bottom of my two photos, slightly overlapping the title block. From my stash I added a couple of buttons tied with twine.

This fab Kit is available for a limited period from the Pages of Memories Online Store.

Niki's Layout using April Week 4 kit 'Train'

Thursday 26 April 2012

Hi again everyone

I initially struggled to think of photos to go with this week's kit as I have a little girl but it just so happens I had a few of her playing with a toy train she got for Christmas so here's what I did:

I wanted to maintain the train at the bottom of the paper so I cut around the left end of it so I could tuck my photo underneath:

and I added a circle from the remaining patterned paper then used the leftover alphabet stickers from April 1 Kit 'Instamatic' for the title as the colours went really well.  I finished off the layout with the Martha Stewart Pom Pom stickers (which are super fab by the way!)

This kit can be purchased here and costs only £5.70.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. Check back tomorrow to see Kirei's layout.

Sunday 22 April 2012

I've been a busy girl this week!

This time I followed the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday

I've used another Lili of the Valley image because they are so lovey:

These images are so sweet and are great for colouring with Copics:
Mice: E31, E33, E000, E00, R20
Chocolates: E47, E49, E35, E37
Chocolate Box: E71, E77, Y21, Y28
Present, E000, E01, Y21, Y28
Saucepans: C1, C3, C5

I've tied Brown Sugar Divine Twine through the button and added gems and Glamour Dust glitter for a little sparkle.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Racing Car Card

Saturday 21 April 2012

Hi All

I have another card for you today that I made following a sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  Here's the sketch:

and here is my card:

It's for a 3 year old in case you hadn't guessed!

The middle circle has been cut with the Eyelet Circles Nestabilities and I printed the sentiment on my PC as I didn't have anything suitable!

The racing car has been coloured with Copic Markers:
R22, R27, R29
C1, C3

and in case you were wondering, I made those chequered background squares!  I cut two large black squares and I then cut a load of 1/2" white squares and stuck them all on!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Sketch Saturday Card

Friday 20 April 2012

Hi All

I have missed playing along with challenge blogs recently so thought I'd join in with this week's Sketch Saturday challenge especially as Pages of Memories is sponsoring them tomorrow!

Here is this week's sketch:

and here is my card:

I love this image - it's by Lili of the Valley and I really enjoyed colouring it with my Copics.

Copics used:
Mice: E31, E33, R20
Bottle: YG63, YG67
Champagne: Y11, Y21
Foil: Y21, Y28
Ice Bucket: C1, C3, C5

The Circles have been cut with the 'Lacy Circles' Nestabilities which unfortunately are out f stock at the moment. The Daisies on the dark green strip ave been done with the 'Daisy Chain' punch by Martha Stewart which you can get here. I particularly like that punch as it punches out a decorative strip rather than just an edge so you can effectively use it like ribbon...

Here's a close up of the image. It hasn't come out very well in the photo but the champagne and all the bubbles have Glamour Dust on them which I truly believe is the world's most sparkly glitter!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Kirei's layout with the April Wk 3 Kit 'Decorate'

Hi Everyone!

I love the 'Miss Caroline' range from My Minds Eye so was very happy when they turned up in this week's Kit! I loved the faux wood panelled 'Happy Decorate' paper so decided that was going to be the base for my layout.

Firstly I cut around some of the flowers and leaves in the top left and bottom right corners as I wanted to slip some of the papers underneath them later. Then I cut a piece measuring 4.5"x 10" from the 'Baby' paper and a piece 5" x 9.5"from the 'Happy Beach Stripe' paper. The edges of both pieces were distressed with an edging tool and then I tied some twine (from my stash) around the spotty piece. These were both then stuck down (at an angle) to the base paper.

I cut a number of strips of varying lengths: 1" x 7" of the 'Happy Beach Stripe', 1/2" x 8" and 1 3/4" x 8"of the 'Baby' paper. I border punched the 1 3/4" x 8" strip and then layered them all up at the bottom of the layout, just tucking the ends in under the yellow flower.

The 7" x 5" photo was trimmed down and mounted onto the pink Bazzill, and then stuck down onto the layout tucking the bottom right corner under the flower. I added a button (tied with twine) from the fab embellishment pack that came with the Kit, and attached it with a glue dot to the centre of the twine tied round the spotty panel on the layout. I punched a variety of butterflies and attached them to my layout with Glossy Accents (it dries quickly and holds them nice and firm!). For the main butterfly I layered up two of them, attached some pearls for the body and used two of the cute pins for antennae! This was attached with foam pads to the bottom left of the photo.

To finish off I used some alphas from my stash for the title.

This Kit is available for a limited time from the Pages of Memories Online Store.

Niki's Layout using April 3 'Decorate'

Thursday 19 April 2012

Hi Everyone

So here is my layout using April 3 kit 'Decorate'

I've got a lot of wedding photos that need scrapping and the papers in this week's kit were perfect some one particular outdoors one:

I wanted to make sure I kept the lovely flowers that were on the wood paper so I cut round them and layered the on top of my photograph.

I also created an embellishment in the top left corner using a circle punch, two Lattice Hearts and some of the buttons and pinks from the 'Miss Caroline' Buttons & Pins pack.  The border punch on the left side of the paper is part of a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Set which you can buy here - I have one left!!

The large ticket in the bottom right corner embellishment was just made by cutting two rectangles from the patterned paper and card and clipping the corners with a circle punch - very effective!

I added a few more buttons and pins here as well as another Lattice Heart and a large butterfly cut using the Martha Stewart Large Butterfly Punch.

Here you can see how some of those flowers go over the photo and I also added a title using leftover alphabet stickers from April 1 kit 'Instamatic'.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by - pop back tomorrow to see Kirei's layout using this kit xx
