Fun Times | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Great Escape Collection

Monday 26 February 2024

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio using the fabulous Great Escape Collection! This layout actually started off as a scraplift as the monthly challenge over on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community Group is to scraplift a layout of one of the Design Team. There is an example by Josefine that has layered hearts in a grid design, so I decided to do the same thing with stars.

I set about using my Big Shot and metal nesting star dies to cut lots of different sized stars from lots of patterns from the A5 paper stack. I layered them together and stitched down the middle of each one. I made some smaller than others and each star has at least three layers.

But it turns out that arranging stars in a grid design doesn’t really work because they are very pointy! The would have to be really small to fit several across the page! So I continued to use my layered stars but the grid design was out the window!

I prepared my background using the beautiful white wash woodgrain paper which I trimmed down, distressed the edges and stuck onto a sheet of white card. I then splattered this with black paint.

I arranged my photo onto the background with four of the layered stars. They are all clustered together across the top part of the layout and this worked really well. I couldn’t cut my photo into a star shape so I’ve kept it as a rectangle and slotted it in-between two stars with some overlap.

I added ‘Fun Times’ as my title from the puffy title stickers pack and then added just a few simple embellishments to the layout: a couple of Chipboard Stickers, some little phrase stickers from the Accessory Stickers and some little star stickers: some from the Puffy Stickers set, and some from the Puffy Title Stickers pack. I finished off with some sequins and some splatters of black paint!

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping!

Love Much | Bramble Fox

Thursday 22 February 2024

Love much and adore with this love themed layout made using several Bramble Fox Perspextive Sets and the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Love Story collection.

For this layout I began with a pink background which I then stencilled hearts onto using stencil #88. I went for a very soft stencilled look. My photo stood out very well against the pink background and I created an embellishment cluster at the bottom left corner.

These are the Bramble Fox items I used:

Stencil #88

Love Much Perspextives Set – love much title

February Fox Box – adore title, grey arrow & tab, and viewmaster circle.

XOXO Set – xo title and the little hearts, envelopes & cherries

I used three Bramble Fox titles to the right of my photo – they all went perfectly with this photo! I was worried the pink ‘xo’ title wasn’t showing up too well against the pink background, so I backed it with a dark paper and then it stood out perfectly.

I created another large embellishment cluster at the top right of the layout, repeating lots of elements used in the other cluster.

I finished off the layout with some pretty sequins and splatters of white paint, I love how pink and pretty it turned out!

Happy scrapping

It's a Love Story | Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Love Story

Wednesday 21 February 2024

Have you seen the Simple Vintage Love Story collection by Simple Stories? This is my first time using it and I’m in love!

The camera paper instantly had my heart and I knew it was going to feature prominently on my layout. I fussy cutout a large portion of it and paired it with a plain sheet from the 12x12 Simple Vintage Basics coordinating paper pack. I used a turquoise sheet which just made those cameras pop off the page!

I added just one photo at the bottom of the cameras and I added lots of Floral Bits and Rub-ons around this area too. I balanced this cluster with another one at the top right of the cameras. The Rub-ons really are gorgeous!

I added a few butterflies and a title from the Foam Stickers saying ‘it’s a Love Story’. I also added phrase strips from the Cardstock Stickers, and lots of gorgeous Decorative Brads. I added a Brad or Enamel Dot to the centre of each of the cameras – this turned out so cute!

I finished off with my journaling, a few sequins and splatters of black paint. Those cameras really are just gorgeous and I’m so pleased with this layout!

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed the layout!

Happy scrapping

Tis the Season to Sparkle | Simple Stories | Winter Wonder

Tuesday 20 February 2024

Here is another layout using the absolutely stunning Winter Wonder collection by Simple Stories. I started off by trimming down the spotty paper to about 10” square and adding this to the right side of a white background. I added strips of dark peach paper around the edges of the square to make it really stand out against the white.

My photos were a bit awkward because I had two portrait photos and one landscape – I usually find mixing orientations a bit of a challenge but this worked well with the  landscape one being on it’s own on one side, with the two portrait ones grouped together on the other side.

I added a big line of embellishments down the left side of the square and around my landscape photo. I used some 2x2 squares cut from Patterned Papers, layered tags from the Tags paper as well as lots of Bits & Pieces and Floral Bits. I also added a large title to this cluster, underneath my photo, from the Foam Stickers.

I also added some small embellishment clusters to the other two photos too, including phrase strips cut from one of the patterned papers – I love the phrases on that sheet!

I finished off with my handwritten journaling, a few sequins and splatters of silver paint. I enjoyed using this collection so much and love how this layout turned out, it is so easy to create with!

Frosty Friends | Winter Wonder | Simple Stories

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the gorgeous Winter Wonder collection. I just adore the colours in this collection!

The photos I was using for this layout were from a recent ice-skating trip. I printed a series of five photos in quite a small size.

I choose to go for a wide strip of that fabulous criss-cross paper across the bottom of my layout. I paired this with a strip of peach paper. I mounted all my little photos and then arranged these across the horizontal line. Once my photos were in place, I could start embellishing!

I made two large clusters at the top of the photos, both on the right, and the left sides using a mixture of tags cut from the Tags paper, Bits & Pieces, Floral Bits, Cardstock Stickers and Decorative Brads.

I added my title under the photos, using the phrase ‘frosty friends’ from the Foam Stickers. I also added a few phrase strips from the Cardstock Stickers and some small embellishments here too.

At the top of the layout I added another cluster which cascades down to meet the other parts of the layout, this helped balance out the very large section at the bottom of the layout.

I finished off with sequins and splatters of silver paint! This one turned out so fun, I love it!

Picturesque | More Travel Scrapbooking with the Bramble Fox Wander Collection

Wednesday 14 February 2024

Another travel layout made using the Wander Collection by Bramble Fox. I've used the Great Escape paper collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I cut a large yellow circle to represent the sun and some stencil details to go under my photo. I paired this with pretty florals, fussy cut flags and lots of gorgeous perspextives by Bramble Fox, including a wooden sign saying 'scenic route'.

I love how this turned out!

Mr Lava Lava | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Great Escape Collection

Monday 12 February 2024

Hey everyone, here is my first layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio using the new Great Escape Collection! I had a little story to tell about my little boy, and the paper with the mountain skyline was just perfect so I went straight for that!

I trimmed the paper down and placed it on a white background. I framed it with two dark blue strips that I cut from the A5 Paper Stack, this was to give that middle piece some definition against the white background.

I added my photo together with some mountain ephemera from the Die Cut Ephemera pack and a cute little journaling card from the A5 Paper Stack. I added some Chipboard Stickers and some more ephemera: a star and a compass.

On the other side, I made another large cluster using a small piece of paper, several Accessory Stickers, some Chipboard Stickers and more pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera. I stapled some ribbon onto the tag sticker and this was initially where I thought I could write my journaling. I actually ended up adding small embellishments and the date and writing my journaling below the title instead.

I added ‘let’s explore’ title from the Puffy Titles pack – how awesome are these! And I handwrote my journaling below this. I wanted to add my own title to this layout which went with my story, so I reached for the Mini Puffy Alphabet stickers from the Heart & Home collection. The colours match really well and I was able add my ‘Mr Lava Lava’ title!

My mountain skyline was looking a little flat, so after I’d stuck everything down, I decided to attempt to give them some dimension! I managed to lift up the paper, slide my cutting mat underneath and carefully cut along the mountains. I then added foam pads – I love how this turned out!

Finally I added some splatters of black paint and some sequins!

I loved using the Great Escape collection and have made loads more layouts with it since so keep checking back for those!

YOUnique | Bramble Fox

Reach for the stars with this YOUnique layout about my gorgeous boy! For this layout I used the Bramble Fox sun rays stencil to add a starburst effect to a sheet of white cardstock which I then splattered with black paint. This gave me a fabulous background to start creating on top of!

I’ve used the Great Escape collection for this layout. I mounted my large photo onto some patterned paper, which I replicated at the two sides of the layout by making little tears which I backed with the same paper.

I layered my photo with a large colourful star cut from stripey patterned paper and some ticket strips. I then added three Bramble Fox titles, to the right of my photo: ‘YOUnique’ from the March Fox Box, and two more words ‘remarkable’ and ‘superb’ which are from a set called ‘Good Life’. I love how these words all describe my complicated boy. I also added a black page tab and a little blue person, both of which were from the March Fox Box.

I added LOADS of stars cut from one of the Great Escape papers, a wax seal a friend made me, added some Accessory Stickers, and then I finished off with sequins and splatters of black paint.

This layout was super simple to make and I love the end result!

Happy scrapping
