Volcanic Adventure | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Great Escape Collection

Friday 26 April 2024

Let’s go on an adventure up a volcano! The Great Escape collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio was perfect for these photos of our recent visit to Timanfaya National Park & Fire Mountains. My little boy absolutely loves volcanos and it was great to be able to take him to one!

I wanted to replicate the slant of the volcano on my page so cut a diagonal piece of the Adventurer patterned paper. I love the semi circles on this paper with all the different colours. I gave it a border by adding a strip of green paper also along the diagonal. This helped to contain the busy pattern and gave my photos some white space to breathe.

I mounted my photos using the A5 paper stack and added them to the layout together with my title ‘adventure’ from the Chipboard Stickers. I added the word ‘volcanic’ using the Mini Alphabet stickers from the Heart & Home collection.

I then added all my embellishments: I particularly wanted to use the camp fire icons, one from the Ephemera and one from the Chipboard stickers as there was fire in my photos! I also added wooden rounds, flags, stars both fussy cut and chipboard, and some of the small journaling cards from the A5 Paper Stack. My photos and journaling card ended up in a horizontal line across the page which contrasts nicely with the steep diagonal on the background!

I finished off with some journaling which I wrote along the green diagonal border, I added some sequins and Puffy Stickers and some splatters of black paint. I absolutely love how this one turned out and it feels great to have documented this fabulous adventure!

Happy scrapping

Little Chef | Bramble Fox Yummy Collection

Monday 22 April 2024

More baking with this Little Chef on my latest scrapbooking layout for Bramble Fox! I’ve used the Yummy collection which is perfect for photos of my little chef! This little boy loves to bake, and these photos capture him making a lemon drizzle cake! His egg-cracking skills are egg-cellent! I’ve used the Little Chef Set, and I’ve also used quite a few pieces from the Yummy Wordfetti set, I love the word and phrase feature over on the right side of the layout.

I’ve used the What’s Cookin’ collection by Simple Stories, and picked out colours that complemented the blue of the Little Chef title – this colour didn’t feature in the paper collection I’d chosen, but I was absolutely still able to make it work by carefully choosing colours that I put with it: yellows and aqua. The wood veneer from the Wordfetti went perfectly too.

I finished off with lots of little embellishments and some splatters of black paint which I used to tie in with the black Wordfetti pieces. I hope you enjoyed seeing how this layout came together, happy scrapping!

Ready for an Adventure! Simple Stories Pack Your Bags Collection

Thursday 18 April 2024

For this layout I chose to feature a large block of that fabulous cactus print paper on my background. I added my two photos and created one large embellishment cluster horizontally across the page.

I used a few squares from the 2x2 4x4 Elements paper which added pops of colour to my layout together with that fabulous title ‘let’s go on an adventure’. This title came from the Page Pieces and I love that it is multi coloured.

I cut two tags from the Tags Element paper and layered them together and tucked them behind my photos. This gave me a little journaling spot to add my date. I handwrote my actual journaling along the two vertical sides of the cactus paper.

I added so many things to my large cluster: Foam Stickers, Bits & Pieces, Decorative Brads, Chipboard Stickers and Cardstock Stickers. I also added a few sequins and finished off with splatters of white paint!

This layout turned out so fun! Happy scrapping

Explore | Simple Stories | Pack Your Bags Collection

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout for Simple Stories made using the new Pack Your Bags collection. I have loved playing with this collection, it is travel themed which is great for me but is also packed full of fun bright colours which I love!

For this layout I chose the red checked patterned paper and cut it into a frame which I placed on top of a white cardstock background. I then fussy cut around some of the flowers from one of the floral patterned papers, in one large piece. I added that look as though the flowers were growing out from under the frame – I actually really loved how this turned out and I was so pleased to be able to use that floral paper.

I added two photos in the opposite corner. I had two photos of different sizes but because they were both portrait orientation this worked out really well.

I then set about building my clusters in the two opposite corners of the layout, incorporating the flowers in the top corner, and the photos in the bottom corner. I also added a title: Explore, from the Foam Stickers. I love the multicoloured words and they stick so well too!

My clusters consist of lots of different bits: Bits & Pieces, Chipboard Stickers, Foam Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, Decorative Brads and Enamel Dots…ALL the things! I particularly loved the ditzy arrows and hearts and I added one of these from the Rub Ons too.

I added phrase stickers from the Cardstock Stickers over on the right side and began my journaling there as well.

I finished off with a few sequins and splatters of black paint. I absolutely love this layout!

Happy scrapping

Wild Life | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Great Escape Collection

Friday 12 April 2024

Live the Wild Life with the Great Escape collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio! In this layout I have chosen an orange and yellow colour scheme and I therefore focused on picking out all the bits from the Great Escape collection that had those colours.

I started with a white background that I trimmed down and added to the yellow sun Great Escape paper. I then set to work using the orange zigzag side of the Happy Camper paper. I originally envisaged having a large block of this paper on my background but last minute decided to cut zigzag strips instead! I cut a few rows, trimmed them down so I had various lengths, distressed all the edges, and then arranged them onto my background.

I mounted my photo using one of the yellow papers from the A5 Paper Stack and tucked this into the zigzags. I then added all the embellishments I could find in the yellow and orange colours. I used some Floral Ephemera from the Heart & Home collection too, as well as Ephemera from the Great Escape, Chipboard Stickers, Accessory Stickers and some pieces from the Cut Apart sheet too.

For my title, I used an acrylic Perspextive title by Bramble Fox and a little yellow arrow that matches. I finished off with a few sequins and some splatters of black paint. I also hand wrote my journaling along one of the zigzag lines.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Home Cooked | Yummy Collection by Bramble Fox

Do you love to bake? This scrapbooking layout features the Yummy collection and celebrates everything home cooked! My little boy has recently joined Cooking Club at school, and it is always the highlight of his week, I never know what creations he will come home with and make me taste! These photos feature a baked bean and cheese pastry slice…

I love the red Home Cooked title, it was perfect for my photos. I have used the What’s Cookin’ Collection by Simple Stories and the colour match was spot on. I have made a horizontal feature across the middle of my layout using a mixture of photos, tags, journaling cards and ephemera. I love all the little icons from the Yummy Elements Set, the Yummy Wordfetti, and the Little Chef set – they are all adorable! I also used the red gingham ribbon and one of the cute charms.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping!
