Life is Better with You | Simple Stories | Pet Shoppe

Tuesday, 17 January 2023

Hey everyone, here is another layout using the Simple Stories Pet Shoppe collection. For this layout I focused on the spotty paper which I cut at an angle and placed onto my white background. I layered this with the yellow striped paper. I always enjoy using patterned papers on my layouts but this can sometimes be tricky especially is the paper is very busy. I usually combat this problem by pairing the pattern with some white space, which is what I have done here!

I chose to use one photo of my little boy with some guinea pigs which I mounted and placed across the paper layers. I balanced it out with a guinea pig journaling card ‘it’s guinea be a great day’ and other journaling layers too.

I’ve used a title from the Foam Stickers ‘life is better with you, and I added lots of super cute guinea pig embellishments. I also added other animals, I tucked these into the paper layers, I love how they look like they are peeking out!

I then embellished the spotty paper. I doodled some circles around some of the spots, I added Decorative Brads to some, enamel dots to others and I also added raised heart stickers to some too. This just added an extra level of details and dimension to this side of the layout and it was fun to do!

I finished off with my journaling and splatters of white paint. I really had so much fun creating with the Pet Shoppe collection! I hope you enjoyed seeing my layout.

Happy scrapping

Totally Cute | Simple Stories | Pet Shoppe

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the totally adorable Pet Shoppe Collection! There are three Pet Shoppe collections, the one I’m using features small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, lizards etc. There are two other Pet Shoppe collections too: Pet Shoppe Cat and Pet Shoppe Dog.

Our family actually doesn’t have any pets which is something which my children would love to change! To compensate for this, we regularly visit our local farm which offers a small animal petting experience, where we spend a fun hour playing with the rabbits and guinea pigs. They also have a rescue chicken who also comes to play, and it takes place next to the llama enclosure, so we get to pet the llamas too. It is always fun, and it is a really good way for the children to interact with animals!

For this layout I decided to feature some of the bright fun patterns from the Pet Shoppe collection. I couldn’t choose between them as I love them all so much, so I decided to feature small strips of them all. I cut strips in various sizes and arranged them vertically. I machine stitched them in place and curled up the ends to give extra texture and dimension.

I arranged three photos horizontally across the strips which I mounted first on journaling cards. I then had lots of fun adding embellishments. These photos featured rabbits so I set about picking out all the rabbit embellishment I could find. The rabbits in this collection are just so cute and adorable! I used three from the Foam Stickers and one from the Bits & Pieces.

I added stickers from the Cardstock Stickers and more Bits & Pieces. My title is from the Foam Stickers and I also added Decorative Brads.

I finished off by handwriting my journaling and adding splatters of white paint.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

The NoNos | GoGo Shopaway | Jen Hadfield Stardust

Monday, 16 January 2023

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for GoGo Shopaway using the very lovely Jen Hadfield Stardust Collection. I have found this collection so much fun to use, it is very generic and therefore it’s been versatile and easy to use.

For this layout I picked out a pink diagonal paper which I trimmed down to 10” and stuck to a white background. I distressed the edges and folded them up to give them lots of dimension.

I then fussy cut lots of speech bubbles from one of the Stardust patterned paper. I mainly focused on the pinks and blues because those colours matched the aprons we are wearing in my photo. I also fussy cut some concentric hearts from another sheet of paper. I mounted my photo and stuck it in the middle with all the speech bubbles pointing to the photo.

For my title I used the Stardust glittery Thickers. I had to slightly re-arrange some of my speech bubbles to fit it in. I decided to keep any further embellishments minimal so as not to detract from the speech bubble effect so just added little foam diamonds and enamel dot diamonds in between the bubbles. I also added some crafty Bramble Fox Perspextives from my stash. I finished off with white splatters and my journaling.

I really love how this turned out. Th speech bubble paper was so fun to use and this layout would be super easy to re-create, so give it a go!

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

4 Today! | For the Love of Pretty Paper Sketch | Jen Hadfield Stardust

Saturday, 7 January 2023

Hi everyone! Here is my version of the January For the Love of Pretty Paper Sketch! I’ve used Jen Hadfield Stardust and chosen to use a black background with multicoloured stars. I love this paper so much.

I then used the striped paper from the Stardust collection to cut several stars. I then scored each one to make them 3D and arranged them around my photos. I also used one of the pre-made rosette stickers and lots of little embellishments. I’ve used the gorgeous glittery Stardust Thickers for my title.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout, I love how it turned out!

Happy scrapping
