Hi everyone, I’m sharing my layout today from the recent
GoGo Getaway Cybercrop which was a colour challenge.
I used the very gorgeous
new Jen Hadfield Stardust collection for this layout and used a sheet of words
& phrases. I carefully cut out the middle of the paper, fussy cutting round
all the coloured blocks to create an abstract border. I then backed this paper
with white card, added my photo and embellished in a few places. I kept my embellishments
quite minimal as the background was so busy!
Thanks so much for looking, I hope you enjoy this layout!
Hi everyone, here is a layout I've made playing along with the October For the Love of Pretty Paper Sketch. I've used Simple Stories Simple Vintage October 31st and some heart Perspextives by Bramble Fox.
Hi everyone, here is another layout using the new Life
Captured Collection by Simple Stories. I’ve made another traditional 12x12
layout, but this collection is also perfect for pocket-style scrapbooking, so
if you do that then you should definitely check out this collection!
I decided to scrap a school photo of my daughter. She’s just
started secondary school and was the only one from her primary school to go
there, so she knew no one. She’s so brave and confident, and when I saw a whole
page of noticeboard affirmations in the Life Captured Sticker Book, I knew
these would be perfect on a layout about her and her new school journey.
I stuck all the affirmations onto some white card and
trimmed around them so they all had white edges. I selected two papers from the
Life Captured 12x12 papers, the blue ditsy heart paper and the kraft with white
dots. The blue pattern was perfect as the photo has a blue background so this
worked well.
I added my photo to a clipboard ephemera that was from the
Journal Bits and then started arranging all the elements onto the layout. I
trimmed down both the papers and arranged them, offset, onto a white card
background. I then arranged the clipboard and 11 affirmations onto the layout
in row formation – it reminds me of a giant noticeboard!
I embellished the layout with lots of stationery items that
I selected from the Bits & Pieces and Chipboard Stickers. I popped these up
on foam pads to give the layout lots of dimension.
I made my title using the little tile stickers from the
Sticker Book which I stuck onto white card and trimmed out. I also used the
number ‘7’ from the Bits & Pieces.
I finished off by handwriting my journaling and adding some
splatters of white paint.

Hi everyone, here is the first layout I’ve made using the
Life Captured Collection by Simple Stories. I adore the colours in this
collection and there are so many lovely phrases that are perfect for everyday
life.
I’ve made traditional 12x12 layouts with this collection but
it would also be perfect for pocket style scrapbooking.
For this layout I have chosen a sheet from the 6x8 Paper Pad
and made this the feature of my layout. The phrase ‘Follow your heart’ is on a
clipboard. I fussy cut out the clipboard and distressed the edges.
I love the soft pink ledger paper from the 12x12 paper
collection and chose to use this for the main part of my background. I trimmed
it down a little, and used a notebook border punch to create a border down the
left side and then mounted it onto a sheet of white card, at an angle.
I layered the Follow Your Heart clipboard with two of the Chipboard
Frames and also added my photo, mounted onto more patterned paper from the 6x8
Paper Pad and a noticeboard ephemera piece from the Bits & Pieces.
I embellished the layout with Chipboard Stickers and more ephemera
from the Bits & Pieces pack, including paper tabs, flowers, a globe and
hearts. I also used a few stickers from the Cardstock Stickers: three phrase
stickers and the long scalloped blue border sticker – I cut this into sections
and placed them either side of the pink background to give a pop of colour.
I finished off with a little bit of journaling and some splatters
of white paint.

Hey everyone! Here is a new Mini Album for Simple Stories
using the adorable Into the Wild collection! We love a day at the zoo so I had
no shortage of photos to use with this collection. Have you seen the adorable
animals?! I fell in love with this collection the moment I saw it.
I have replicated the lion from the collection who appears
on the Cardstock Stickers sheet. I hand drew it onto white card, then cut this
out and used it as a template. I used the template to cut out all the elements
of the lion’s face and create an adorable paper-pieced lion.
I made the lion into a box, with his face as the front
cover, and another shape on the back: I still used the mane shape but instead
of a face, I made the back end of the lion, including a tail with a handmade
paper tassel! It’s so fun!
The box contains a mini album, which is made from two sheets
of paper. I used the Color Vibe paper and used the ‘one sheet wonder’ technique
to make a little book. This makes multiple pages with top opening or side
opening pockets. I then added tags from the Tags sheet into these pockets.
These gave me room for extra photos.
I used lots of flat embellishments within the album itself
such as the Into the Wild Sticker Book, Bits & Pieces, Journaling Bits and
Cardstock Stickers. I also used the cut-apart 12x12 papers such as the Journal
Elements paper to add layers.
This was such a fun album to make and this collection is
super adorable!
