Kirei's layout using the January 4 Kit 'Crisp'

Friday, 27 January 2012

Hi Everyone!

In this week's Kit we had the fab 'Summers Day' papers by Fancy Pants. Pretty doilies in oranges, lime greens, soft aquas and choc browns. It was hard to decide which ones to use... so decided to use all of them! I used the multi-coloured doilies side of the 'Windy Day' paper as my base. I then cut a 7" x 11" piece from the tree side of the 'Crisp' paper (making sure I didn't cut into the trees) and inked the edges with brown ink. This was attached to the right side of the doilies paper. I cut an 11.5" x 2.5" strip of the dotty paper called 'Strips' and mounted this onto a piece of the blue 'Changing' paper and this was stuck to the bottom of he page. I then mounted a 7" x 5" photo onto orange Bazzill  and attached this to the bottom left.

The trees from the 'Crisp' papers were cut out and attached to the right of the photo and I then just used some strips of the papers and the spotted orange ribbon to embellish the page.

Finally I used the 'Summers End' alpha stickers to make my title.

This fab kit is available in the Pages of Memories online store.

Niki's Layout using January 4 Kit 'Crisp'

Thursday, 26 January 2012

Hi Everyone

I had the perfect photo for this kit, here is my layout:

The blue and brown doily patterned paper was a little bright for my layout (background behind photo) so I distressed it a bit with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks, same with the panel under the title at the top and the large doily circle.

I clustered my embellishments around the bottom right corner of the photo, the centre of the flower is cut from the 'Strips' paper. I also cut some circles from the different coloured card that was in the kit.

The border punch I've used here is called 'Garden Rail' by Martha Stewart and it is available to buy in our online shop here

I've added the title using leftover letters from the previous two kits!

Thaks for stopping by and check back tomorrow to see what Kirei has done with this kit!

Kirei's layout using the January 3 Kit 'Vintage Blue'

Friday, 20 January 2012

Hi everyone!

This week's Kit had the yummy 'Vintage Blue' papers from Glitz and the blues and yellows made me think of a beach walk we did last year. I used the navy patterned side of the 'Vintage Blue Motif' papers as my base and then cut a 10" square from the yellow side of the 'Vintage Blue Toile' paper and mounted this centrally onto the navy. Then I cut a couple of stripes from the navy stripe side of the 'Vintage Blue Stripe' paper and attached these to the top and bottom of the yellow square. I then attached my photos, mounting one of them onto navy Bazzill.

I then went about adding the embellishments to the layout. I used the lovely Prima flowers and added some buttons from my stash.

Finally I added the title and journalling, I used some American Thickers from my stash for the main title and then used the fabby Glitz Teeny Alphas mounted onto small strips of navy Bazzill for the journalling. These were finished off with a small pearl.

This Kit and many more goodies are available from the Pages of Memories online store.

Niki's page using 'Vintage Blue Motif'

Thursday, 19 January 2012

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using the gorgeous 'Vintage Blue Motif' kit:

I really enjoyed making this layout, I particularly wanted to create a filmstrip effect along the top as these photos came from a photo booth that our friends had at their wedding.

I made a little embellishment out of a semi circle cut with a circle punch and the pearls in the kit.

I carried this on by adding a scalloped strip under the small photos and added pearls to every other scallop:

I've added brads from my stash to the centre of the flowers but the same effect could easily be achieved by cutting mini circle using a hole punch out of the coloured card or by adding pearls instead.

I added a title and sub title using the Teeny Alpha that came in the kit.  I love how much you can get out of those Alphabets - there are millions of letters!

Hope you like it, the kit can be purchased here, and thanks for stopping by xx

PS check back tomorrow to see what Kirei has done with this kit!

Kirei's layout using the January 2 Kit 'Aquarella'

Friday, 13 January 2012

Hi Everyone!

I really enjoyed scrapping with this week's Kit as I loved the Prima papers and thought they would work well with a photo I had from a visit to Shaw's Corner with Lee and his mum and dad last year.

I used the kraft cardstock as the base and then cut a 10" square of the 'Chiaro' paper and stuck that slightly off centre on to the kraft. I really liked the leafy strip on the 'Aquarella' paper so cut that out and used that at the top of my layout. I used a 7" x 5" photo and double mounted that onto a piece of the cream 'Aquarella' paper and the kraft cardstock. Before sticking this down I cut a strip of the green 'Chiaro' and a wavy edged strip of cream 'Aquarella' and used this under the bottom edge of my photo.

I punched some flowers and leaves from the papers and layered them up on the border strip and in the bottom left corner of the photo. I did have to dig into my own stash for some buttons and twine to finish them off!

The final piece was to add a title using the fab Prima letter stickers.

You can get this Kit and lots of other lovely goodies at the Pages of Memories Online Store.

Thanks for looking!

Niki's page using January 2 Kit 'Aquarella'

Thursday, 12 January 2012

Hi Everyone

I absolutely loved this week's kit, it made a change from Christmas.
When I first saw it I thought I would have to have some outdoorsy photos but I had a distinct lack of those so choose a super cute photo of my little girl:

I made the tag out of a piece of the beige Bazzill cardstock and added a bit of ribbon from my stash.  I mixed up the different alphabet stickers to form my title:

I made the embellishments on the corner by again using the beige cardstock and I cut out a flourish which is a Tim Holtz die and three tickets which again are from a Tim Holtz die.  I distressed them all a bit using brown inks and added a subtitle:

And I added a couple of ribbon flags (not included in the kit) held in place by some mini staples to finish it off

Even though it's not heavily embellished I was quite pleased with the way it turned out!

This can be purchased here and includes full instructions for how to make this layout.

Check back tomorrow to see what Kirei has done with this kit xx

Niki's page using January 1 'Noel' Kit

Thursday, 5 January 2012

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using the gorgeous 'Noel' kit released yesterday:

I had this absolutely adorable photo of my little girl taken on Christmas day and it was perfect for this kit.

I really loved the Santa so cut him out and made a feature of him and used the 'Merry Christmas' which was on the same page as my title.

The Noel motif also had to stay but it meant I would really have to cut back on the space I could use for my photo so to get around that problem I cut it out to halfway and managed to tuck some of the patterned paper underneath it.

The baubles are cut out with a punch but they could also be hand cut and the strings they are hanging up on are the glittery bits from the 'Tinsel' paper.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx
