Surf's Up | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Great Escape

 

Hey everyone! So today I am sharing a layout I made for the March challenge! Each month we have a challenge over on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community Facebook group and this month the challenge is the Great Escape challenge…scrap about your adventures, big or small, near or far…even if it’s your dream escape! So of course I reached straight for the Great Escape collection!

The photograph on my layout is certainly an adventure…my two big children went surfing while we were away on holiday. They had a three hour surfing lesson and they did really well! We don’t often do things like this as my boy is often reluctant to try new things, but he LOVED it! So this was a really big deal for him.

I decided to make some surf boards from patterned papers so chose three papers from the A5 paper stack and cut them into surfboard shapes. I then added machine stitching around the edges of each one. I also cut a wavy line from yellow paper to represent the ‘sand’ and added a dark blue border strip from the cut apart paper to ground the image.

I embellished the layout using a mixture of embellishments: star ephemera, fussy cut flags, Chipboard Stickers, Die Cut Ephemera, Accessory Stickers and Puffy Stickers too. I also used ‘adventure is out there’ label, cut from the cut apart sheet.

For my title I used one of the chipboard titles from the Chipboard Stickers which I positioned at the top of the layout in-between the surf boards, this worked really well to fill that empty area! I also wanted to add my own title so reached the mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers from the Heart & Home collection and wrote ‘surf’s up’ along the line of the sand – so cute!

I finished off the layout by adding a few sequins and splatters of black paint all over my embellishment clusters!

This layout turned out so fun! I love how the surfboards look…I was worried they wouldn’t look enough like surf boards, but I think I did ok!

Enjoyed This: Scrapbook Layout with large circle feature and Detailed Clusters for Bramble Fox

Capture the moment with this scrapbook layout for Bramble Fox featuring a large striped circle paired with beautiful clusters! I’ve used the True Colors Collection by Simple Stories together with the April Fox Box, Essential Elements Spring Set,  Paper Snips #53 and dotty Fox Cut Stencil #53.

I began by cutting a giant circle from a piece of striped patterned paper – I didn’t have a circle template or pair of compasses big enough, so I drew around a large wall clock! My husband wondered what on earth I was doing! I cut this out by hand, created a colourful boarder for it and added it to my white cardstock background.

I layered my two photos together with some tags and then added the gorgeous black Perspextive title ‘Enjoyed this’ so that the arrow was pointing towards my photo. I left the title area clear of embellishments so that it would show up beautifully against the pink background.

For my clusters I created a stencilled base with dotty Fox Cut Stencil #53 and bright pink ink. I then added many things, embellishments from the paper collection, loads of bits from the Essential Elements Spring set including glasses, plus signs, a tag, alarm clock, tabs, photo corners…the list is endless there are so many bits! And I also added a few bits from Paper Cuts #53.

I finished of with decorative brads, sequins and splatters of black paint for a pop of contrast!

Happy | Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Spring Garden

 

Hey scrappers, here is a layout using the very pretty Simple Vintage Spring Garden collection by Simple Stories. I choose to use a yellow gingham paper as my background which is from the 12x12 Basics pack – I always adore these coordinating paper packs!

I wanted to arrange my photos into a grid design and I had initially decided to use the 3x4 journaling cards from the 3x4 Elements paper to do this, but this plan didn’t work out because my photos were too small to work properly with the 3x4 cards. So I changed direction and layered up my favourite two journaling cards, and then arranged my photos into a grid of their own. I replaced one of the photos with a clipboard shaped Layered Sticker – so cute!

I added lots of Floral Bits to the left of my photos, together with a bunny Layered Sticker (even cuter!!). I created another smaller cluster over on the right with more Floral Bits and I also added a wax seal that a friend made for me that went perfectly with this layout!

I added a title from the Bits & Pieces and then embellished the layout with Cardstock Stickers, Decorative Brads, and Enamel Dots. I finished off with my journaling, some sequins and some splatters of white paint.

I really enjoyed playing with this pretty spring collection, the bunnies are adorable and I love how my layout turned out.

Smile | Simple Stories | True Colors

 

Hey everyone! I have another layout to share for Simple Stories using the fabulous True Colors collection. I had a great photo of me taking a photo so I decided to tell the story of me being the photographer of the family!

I choose the big camera from the Big Bits pack and fussy cut the middle part out. I used this as a frame for my photo, which fit behind the aperture perfectly! I positioned this in the centre of my layout together with some Floral Bits.

I choose a few titles from the Foam Stickers pack, and arranged them in a stacked vertical design but I felt the layout was a little empty. I came across the patterned paper with all the cameras all over it – perfect! I added strips of this to each side of the layout , which I edged with some green ombre paper. This looked great!

I created two more little clusters to the layout, one at the top right edge and one at the bottom left edge. These consist of smaller cameras from the Bits & Pieces, along with some Cardstock Stickers and Decorative Brads.

I also embellished the middle section of the layout with more of these gorgeous embellishments: more Bits & Pieces, more Floral Bits, more Decorative Brads, more Cardstock Stickers and Enamel Dots too.

I finished off with some sequins, some black paint splatters and my journaling, which I wrote directly onto the large camera!

I’m so happy with this layout, I just love all the bright colours and the cameras have my heart!

Love This | Simple Stories | True Colors

 

Hey everyone! Have you seen the True Colors collection by Simple Stories? I am in LOVE!! This collection is so bright and colourful, and is go generic and therefore so easy to use and fantastic for scrapbooking all those everyday moments!

For this layout I chose my favourite paper and tore a large piece for the top of the layout. I added a second torn strip under this in yellow. I mounted my photo onto contrasting black paper and added it to the clipboard ephemera from the Big Bits pack.

I created a big cluster with my photo on the left side of the layout. I layered my photo and clipboard with more ephemera pieces and also added some bright pink ink underneath to make it all pop right off the page!

I layered together two tags and added a large bow made from ribbon and made this into another smaller cluster at the top of the layout.

I felt the layout needed to be balanced out with something at the bottom, so I added another tag, some squares and frames fussy cut from patterned papers and some more Bits & Pieces, also with some bright pink ink underneath. This small cluster at the bottom really helped to balance out all the bigger elements at the top of the layout.

I embellished the layout with more Bits & Pieces, Decorative Brads, Cardstock Stickers and I also added a couple of titles from the Foam Stickers: ‘hi’ and ‘love this’ speech bubble – how cool!

I finished off with splatters of black paint, a few sequins and my handwritten journaling. I absolutely love how this layout turned out, it’s so fun and super bright and colourful!!

Adventure | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Great Escape Collection

 

Hey everyone! Here is another layout I have made using the Great Escape collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio! I adore the bright stripey paper and decided to make a feature out of that. I started off by cutting a large block of it to go across the layout which I paired with a narrow strip of yellow sun paper to go along the top.

I cut one of the border strips from the cut apart sheet, the one with the rainbow scallops, and added this strip as a boarder along the bottom of the stripes. I love the bright colours!

I mounted my photo onto a piece of navy blue paper from the A5 paper stack to make it stand out against the stripes and added it to the lower horizontal line. I already had two layered stars made that I had leftover from my previous layout so I added those to the layout too, tucked behind the photo.

I added my title ‘adventure’ from the puffy title stickers across the top of my photo together with the word ‘play’ from the cut apart paper. I also added a little label sticker from the Accessory Stickers to the bottom of the photo that says ‘so much fun’.

I then embellished the layout with several pieces of ephemera from the Die Cut Ephemera pack, Chipboard stickers, Puffy Stickers and more Accessory Stickers. I finished off with a few sequins and splatters of black paint!

I love how bright, happy and colourful this layout turned out!

Weekend Shenanigans: a half and half Scrapbook Layout for Bramble Fox

 

Split the page with this bright, fun layout using the April Fox Box and the Essential Elements Spring set for Bramble Fox! For this layout I have used the True Colors collection by Simple Stories and choose two papers to feature in half-and-half design.

I used Fox Cut #93 Stencil to create a film strip area to the left side of the middle square with a bright pink ink. I then layered up my photos with some tags and placed my ‘weekend shenanigans’ title along the centre line of the square.

I then had fun playing with all the Essential Elements Spring set – there are so many little bits in this set: tabs, tags, arrows, plus signs, cameras, photo corners etc.

I created another cluster over to the right side of the layout and included several pieces from Paper Snips #53 as these coordinated perfectly with the paper collection I was using.

I also added a cloud and a sun Perspextive from the April Fox Box above my photos.  I finished off the layout with my journaling, splatters of black ink and some sequins! I love all the fun bright colours and all the little Perspextive bits!
