I am using the fabulous Star Cake cut file to document photos of my little boy’s 2nd birthday. These photos are of him with a huge chocolate cake that he was delighted to be presented with!
I backed the cut file with different patterned papers. I did this manually, rather than use my Silhouette to cut them. I’ve used Jen Hadfield Hey Hello collection for this layout. The Star Cake cut file is a cake with three tiers. I backed each one in a different pattern. There is also a bow around the cake which I backed in another pattern. On top of the cake are lots of stars. I left these open.
I added my photos next to the Star Cake Cut file and added clusters of embellishments either side of the layout. I added my title in the middle. I added a border to my layout with a Dear Lizzy Paper.
To finish off the Star Cake, I added loads of stars to the open stars on top of the cake. Have added lots of different Bramble Fox stars, in different sizes and colours. I’ve also added the white stars leftover from the cut file itself, and I also added star stickers around those stars too. I also went a bit crazy with some Spiegelmom Scraps star shaped sequins! I finished off with splatters of gold paint so now there is an EXPLOSION of stars on top of this fabulous cake.
