A Very Frozen Birthday

Saturday 13 June 2015

My gorgeous little girl is now 4 and she is Frozen mad - particularly Queen Elsa so I obviously had to make her a Frozen birthday card, full of sparkle and glitter. I downloaded a children's colouring-in sheet, scaled it down and coloured it like any other image. I used glitter paper, as well as foiled patterned papers, added glittered snowflakes and pearls and a bit more glitter - she LOVED it!

Beautiful Spring Flowers

Saturday 6 June 2015

I have recently discovered new found love for my Silhouette Cameo machine so cut this cute background with it for this card. The squares of different colours are behind the cut-out, which is then raised up on foam pads. I thought the colours would show through a little better but I do like the subtle effect. I LOVE this image by Sami Stamps, it is so fresh and lovely.

Dad's Shed

Saturday 30 May 2015

This week is a 'free week' over at Sketch Saturday which means you can choose any sketch you like from #215 onwards so loads and loads of scope there. I went for #315 which was designed by Debra. I used 'Dad's Shed' by Digi Stamp Boutique to make a birthday card for my dad, who is always in his shed (and mine!), and I off set the image with a wooden frame and added a couple of wooden birds. I have new found love for my Silhouette Cameo machine so cut my sentiment on there.

Fabulous at 40!

Saturday 23 May 2015

I am getting to the age where my friends are starting to turn FORTY. That means it'll be my turn before I know it (I plan to ensure the next 7.5 years last as long as possible). I loved this image by Bugaboo and used some birthday themed scrapbooking papers.

Gamer

Saturday 16 May 2015

Cards for men are a challenge for me, I never know what image to use as a lot of them are too cutsey, but this one by Mo's Digital Pencil didnt fall into that category so I thought I'd give it a go. Again I used up some old papers from my stash and continued with my twine obsession...

A Pirates Life For Me!

Saturday 9 May 2015

I had a blast making this card! I fell in love with this pirate ship image by All Dressed Up and knew it would be perfect for a little boy who is turning four very soon. I added strips of patterned paper and tied a load of twine around it and finished off by adding in some pearl & gem waves - love it!

A Little Cutie

Saturday 2 May 2015

Morning all and happy National Scrapbook Day! I will probably not be scrapping today but I was last night so all good.

This week's sketch was designed by me (whilst in a scrappy mood obviously), and I loved making the starburst background. This starburst design always screams out for stitching to me so I faux stitched around all the rays.  The image is by A Day for Daisies and is called Miss Clair Clown - so cute! I've added a flair badge and a little bow and used washi tape for my sentiment.

Mirror, Mirror

Saturday 25 April 2015

This is such a cute little image by All Dressed Up and I thought she'd be ideal for a girl friend, so I went all pink and flowers - quite a simple one really which didn't take long to make and I love how easily it all came together - I'm loving my twine at the moment and used two different colours to give a slightly different effect than usual.

A Beautiful Balcony

Saturday 18 April 2015

This balcony window reminded me of a view from a countryside mansion or something - I think it's so pretty. This digi stamp from Little Claire, actually comes with a second part - another door underneath but that didn't really work for my card so I just used the top half. I used up some old My Minds Eye papers and added in a flower cluster to finish off.

My baby boy is 2!!!

Saturday 11 April 2015

How did this happen?? I'm not sure where the last two years have gone but my little Max is now two whole years old! He is a little terror at the moment, amongst moments of pure sweetness - all boy, he loves to terrorise his big sister (and me!), bang things (his favourite toy is a hammer), and throw things and generally cause chaos whereever he goes. This little image by A Random Fan reminded me of Max. I'm on a mission right now to use up my old papers so I rummaged through my stash to find some boyish colours, but bright, and I threw in a few big stars to finish off.

Wild Flowers

Saturday 4 April 2015

I love these flowers by Sami Stamps, I think they are just so beautiful. I decided to keep the card quite simple and used an old Papertrey Ink paper for the background together with some pretty driftwood paper that I love also as much as the flowers. I went a little crazy with twine and added in a few Prima leaves and paper flowers.

A Fairy in my Tea!

Saturday 28 March 2015

This super-cute fairy image is by The Paper Shelter who are sponsoring Sketch Saturday this week. I totally fell in love with it when I saw it but wasn't sure who I'd send a card to with her on it - I decided on a little girl's 4th birthday card - all little girls love fairies right?! This little girl is also very pink and girly so it worked out perfectly for her. I totally cheated this week though and used the image pre-coloured, which I hardly ever do! Sometimes it's nice to cheat though! On some pre-coloured digi images the colours can look unnatural but the Paper Shelter images are such high quality that I knew I couldn't do a better job! I love the result and I'd never ever think to colour hair pink - but may give it a go in future!
