Summer Love Scrapbooking with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happy Days

Thursday 23 November 2023

Hey everyone, today I’m missing summer so have gone back to using Happy Days! I’ve used photos from my little boy’s 5th birthday this year when we spent the day at a water park having lots of fun.

I started off with the turquoise paper which I cut into a large circle, and I added this to a white background. I mounted my three photos and added them to the circle together with two colourful stripes from A5 paper stack. I also added that gorgeous tassel ephemera from the Die Cut Ephemera.

I then added some floral clusters using a mixture of Floral Ephemera and fussy cut flowers. For my title I used one of the Chipboard Titles and the lovely Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers. I added some puffy stickers and handwrote my journaling as well as adding some white paint splatters.

I hope you enjoyed this layout, it was fun to go back to summer time, I adore this bright happy collection so much!

Happy scrapping

Naughty or Nice? Fussy Cut Presents and Multi-Font Title Christmas Scrapbooking with Bramble Fox

Wednesday 22 November 2023

Fussy cut presents and a multi -font title! Today I’m using the Define Naughty Perspextives set from the Bramble Fox Shop. I had a couple of great photos that this set would work well with.

I decided to use some offcuts of patterned papers I already had cut from the Simple Stories Boho Christmas collection, I layered these up on the left side and right side of my white background.

I placed my two photos on the left and then in the big blank area on the right, I started to build up stacks of presents, made up from lots of fussy cut presents cut from one of the papers.

I added my title using the ‘define’ and ‘naughty’ words from the Perspextive set. I also used alphabet stickers to add the ‘Dear Santa’. Together the title reads, ‘Dear Santa…define naughty…’ which I think is really cute.

To my present stacks and to the clusters around my photos, I added as many other Bramble Fox Perspextives as I could. I have quite a few left from the previous two years Advent Calendars. I used two wooden gnomes (how cute are the!) and a couple of sweeties, and the North Pole signpost.

I finished off with splatters of black paint and lots of teeny star and heart stickers.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping!

HoHoHo | Christmas Scrapbooking in Quarters with Simple Stories Simple Vintage Tis the Season

Tuesday 21 November 2023

Hey everyone! Here is a new layout using the Simple Vintage Tis the Season collection by Simple Stories. This collection is packed full of beautiful florals and traditional Christmas colours.

I started with a large photo that I trimmed into a square shape. I decided to go for a quadrant design with a different square of patterned paper from the Tis the Season collection in each quarter of the layout. Once my papers and photo were in place I set about with all the beautiful embellishments.

I added one of the large Chipboard Clusters to the top left quarter, layered with some Floral Bits. I added the word ‘joy’ to the Chipboard Cluster, which is a title from the Foam Stickers.

I added three large red Floral Bits to the lower left quarter and added a & sign on top, together with some word strips from the Cardstock Stickers.

In the top right quarter, I added more word strips, a journaling spot and some Decorative Brads.

In the quarter containing my photo I’ve kept the embellishments to a minimum, so have just a few very small embellishments right in the corner. I also added my title, HoHoHo, also from the Foam Stickers across the bottom of the layout.

I finished off with a few splatters of black paint and I hand wrote my journaling into the journaling spot above the photo.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout come together, I really enjoyed making it and working with the Simple Vintage Tis the Season collection!

Happy scrapping

Christmas Scrapbooking with Oversized Tags using Simple Stories The Holiday Life

Monday 20 November 2023

Happy holidays everyone! This layout is my second layout using the gorgeous The Holiday Life collection by Simple Stories.

For this layout I decided to make some giant tags! I chose a few of the patterned papers and cut the into tag shapes: three large ones in varying sizes. I also cut two little tags from the Tags paper.

I stitched around each of my tags using my sewing machine and also tied each one through with ribbons. I then arranged them onto a white background and worked out where my photo was going to go! I then started to build my clusters of embellishments. I used the rub ons to add gorgeous floral details to a few areas of the layouts. The rub-ons were a pleasure to use, really easy to position and transfer.

I added a few house embellishments over on the left side of the layout and lots of other smaller embellishments, from a mixture of the Bits & Pieces, Floral Bits and Cardstock Stickers. I also added a few Decorative Brads.

I added a few phrase stickers from the Cardstock Stickers, which I distressed the edges of and raised up on foam pads. I find this was that they show up really well against a patterned paper.

I finished off with some journaling and splatters of black paint. I love how this one turned out, those oversized tags are so fun!

Happy scrapping and happy holidays!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year | Christmas Scrapbooking with Simple Stories The Holiday Life

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the gorgeous The Holiday Life Collection. I’ve really enjoyed using this collection, it contains quite traditional Christmas colours and it full of cute florals and icons, such as houses, that are just adorable!

I really loved the paper with all the houses I cut it into strips and mounted those strips onto a piece of solid red paper from the same collection. I then cut this out and made a feature of it for a large part of the background of my layout.

I added my title to the top of the feature paper, it’s from the Page Pieces pack. I created a cluster around the title, cascading down onto the houses. I’ve used a mixture of Bits & Pieces, Cardstock Stickers and Floral Bits.

My photo is a portrait photo of my front door and my gorgeous Christmas Wreath that I made (with the aid of a wonderful kit). I mounted this onto green patterned paper from the collection, and I offset it with a couple of journaling cards. I created a cluster here too, again using a mixture of embellishments such as Bits & Pieces, Floral Bits, Cardstock Stickers and Decorative Brads.

I finished off by hand writing my journaling and adding splatters of black paint.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Bright Colourful Scrapbooking using Shimelle Main Character Energy and Bramble Fox Perspextives

Sunday 19 November 2023

Hey everyone! We recently had so much fun at GoGo Getaway October 2023 and today I’m sharing the GoGo Shopaway challenge. It was a 5, 4,3,2,1 challenge: 5 word or phrase strips, 4 different patterned papers, 3 wooden items, 2 photos, 1 star.

I have used Shimelle Main Character Energy. I loved the paper with the circle segments and I cut this apart and arranged the segments onto the background. I added machine stitching around some of the segments. My 4 patterned papers are: the circle segments paper, the patterned border, the photo that I mounted my photo on, and the tags are from a cut-apart sheet.

I added 5 phrase strips to the left of my photos, and added other embellishments on top of the circle segments: 3 wooden circles by Bramble Fox, one includes a star. That’s two more criteria ticked. My two photos are another one...and I’ve fulfilled the challenge criteria, yay!

I used a Bramble Fox Perspextive as my title ‘Enjoy Life’ which is very fitting for these photos. I also added a few more Main Character Energy embellishments around the title and also added lots of little enamel hearts around the layout. I finished with handwritten journaling and splatters of white paint.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my slightly crazy challenge example! Happy scrapping!

Spread Joy Christmas Scrapbooking with Bramble Fox

Sunday 12 November 2023

I’m spreading joy today with the festive Perspextives in the December Fox Box! I’ve chosen to use the Spread Joy Perspextive which comes in a traditional green colour. It has lovely details within the O and I wanted it to show up really well so wanted to make sure it was on a white background.

So I started with a white background, and took a sheet of traditional red and green patterned paper from the Simple Stories Boho Christmas collection. I cut this into a large circle shape which I then cut into two pieces. I placed the large piece on the left side of the layout and the smaller piece on the right. The smaller piece was a bit too big for the space and didn’t leave a gap big enough really for the Perspextive title, so I trimmed it down a bit. I then added machine stitching around the outside edges of both circle pieces.

Once both circle pieces were in place, I added my photo and the Perspextive title. I then started to build my clusters: one to the bottom left corner of the photo, one on the top right corner of the photo and one on the small circle piece. I added stickers and ephemera to these areas together with Perspextives stars from the December Fox Box, and a couple of mirrored Persspextives I’ve had in my stash for a while!

I finished off with word strips, brads, tiny stars and splatters of white paint.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

I’ve used the Acorn Lane collection by Simple Stories which is perfect for my photos, and have used several Perspextives by Bramble Fox too, new and old!

Paper Weaving Scrapbooking using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Heart & Home

Thursday 9 November 2023

Hey everyone, today I’m doing something a little different and am having a go at some paper weaving! I’m using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Heart & Home collection and started off with that beautiful stripy paper called Harvest. I spent a bit of time cutting out all the coloured stripes. They are quite narrow which is why I had the idea for the paper weaving.

Once my stripes were cut, I then cut them all in half. I then took a spare piece of cardstock and arranged the stripes in colour order, onto the cardstock in a vertical orientation. When I was about happy with the order and the size of the stripes altogether, I taped one end of all the stripes to the cardstock. I then took the horizontal stripes and began weaving them into the vertical ones, under, over, under, over etc. I repeated this until all stripes were weaved.

To secure the weaving I carefully peeled the taped ends from the cardstock and turned over the weaved piece. I then made sure the weaving was quite tight and then I put tape all over the back so the stripes couldn’t move. I ended up with a beautiful piece of paper weaving about 6” square.

I then set about making my layout. I added the weaved paper piece to a white card background, added two mounted photos and then added several pieces of Floral Ephemera. I also added a title using the beautiful gold foiled Title Ephemera and a few phrases cut from the Golden Fields paper.

I finished off with a few Puffy Stickers and some splatters of gold paint.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Beautiful Butterflies Moodboard Inspiration with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Heart & Home

Wednesday 1 November 2023

Hey everyone! Today I am setting the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Monthly Moodboard Challenge! I’m using the Heart & Home collection.

I had envisioned an Autumn themed layout with lots of warm autumn colours that appear in the moodboard, but then I was inspired by the butterfly and went in a completely different direction! I love the butterfly paper in the Heart & Home collection and decided to use that. I cut around the butterflies to create a frame around three sides of my layout.

I then incorporated the other things in my moodboard: two people in my photo, flowers, hearts, cross stitches (on the photo) woodgrain, words & phrases (inspired by the books image and the book print in the background of the waffles image) and if we want to stretch things a little further: my paint splatters are inspired by the sprinkles!

I love how my layout turned out and even though at first glance it might not look much like the moodboard, so many elements on my layout came together because of the moodboard images!

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you enjoy playing along with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio November Moodboard challenge!

Happy scrapping
