Which Way? Mini Book | Lottie Loves Paper | Crate Paper Magical Forest

Friday, 10 July 2020

Hey everyone, here is my latest creation for Lottie Loves Paper using Crate Paper Magical Forest.

Today I have made a mini book using a concertina spine. I have made pockets out of all my pages so that I have lots of space to tuck away extra photos, embellishments and journaling.

This video begins as a process video as I go through making the basic album. I embellish off camera and come back to show a flip-through of the completed album.

Thanks for joining me today and happy scrapping

Get Outside | Hip Kit Club | Using Cut Files

Thursday, 9 July 2020

Hey everyone, I have a layout and video for Hip Kit Club today. I'm using the beautiful June 2020 kits that are packed full of Pinkfresh Studio Let's Stay Home which can be found on the Hip Kit Club website.

I have used two cut file sets: Get Outside and Sunshine on my Face, which can both be found in the June Downloads menu.

I have cut the flowers from the Get Outside set multiple times from the Pinkfresh Studio Let's Stay Home paper which is the one with all the squares on it and arranged them in colour order along the bottom edge of my layout. I have the cut my photo into a circle and picked out lots of circle elements from the June kits to use with it. I cut 'get outside' from yellow cardstock and used this as my title. I also cut a sun from yellow card too (Sunshine on my Face set) and finally cut some extra flowers (from the Get Outside set) in white card to use as layers together with my circle elements.

I added some stitching around my sunshine and also made some loopy butterfly trails.

Thanks so much for joining me today
Happy scrapping

Wonder Puppet | GoGo Getaway Design Team | Lottie Loves Paper Sketch

Wednesday, 8 July 2020

Hey everyone, I have a new layout to share today that I made using the Lottie Loves Paper challenge that was set at our June 2020 Cyber GoGo Retreat.
Sadly we weren't able to get together in person but we still had a great weekend scrapping together, taking classes and doing challenges!
Lottie Loves Paper are our new on-site shop and they set a fabulous Sketch challenge for us for our June Cyber GoGo. I rotated it and used the gorgeous Shimelle Never Grow Up Collection that is available at Lottie Loves Paper. I wanted to get some patterned paper onto this layout so I added a large strip across the top - that Shimelle star paper is simply gorgeous! I have used this layout to document my little boy and an awesome puppet that he made.
I love using sketches for inspiration and this one was great fun to use, so thank you Sarah Jane for setting it and for being our fabulous new shop.
Happy scrapping everyone

Mini Book Lesson and Harmony Mini Book

Tuesday, 7 July 2020

Hey everyone, welcome to a lesson all about Mini Books! This week at Scrap Academy we are looking at scrapbooking in different formats and I am taking you through the enormous topic of mini books.
I don't make loads of mini books but seem to have made an awful lot over my many years of scrapbooking. I have recently fallen in love with them again so expect to see a few more from me.
The first 40 minutes of this video is a talk about mini books and a look through all the different styles I have ever made. This section is pretty long but there's a lot to look at.

The second part of this video is a process video (skip to 41:41) where I made a brand new and extremely cute mini book using a Paige Evans cut file available from the Silhouette Design Store (simply called 'Mini Album' design ID: 283408). The base of this book is made from one sheet of 12x12 paper and then there are lots of cute interactive bits inside too. The book documents our 'Harmony Week' at school (well, home school!) where the children were set tasks and activities all relating to harmony, celebrating diversity and being inclusive.

I've used the May 2020 Hip Kits to make this mini book and I've added perspextives by Bramble Fox and sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps
Thanks so much for watching along and happy scrapping
