December Album Foundation Pages 9-10 and a Shaker | Lottie Loves Paper

Saturday 5 December 2020

Hey everyone, here are two more foundation pages of my December album for Lottie Loves Paper using the Hey Santa collection by Crate Paper. I've also made a vellum shaker pocket insert but I'm not entirely where it's going to go in my album yet - I guess not all decisions need to be made at the foundation stage!

So I have a 'rule' that I usually stick to for my December Album Foundation Pages - I have a white cardstock background on the left and a patterned paper background on the right. For Pages 9 and 10 I broke that rule and have included both white card and patterned paper on both pages. I'm such a rebel.

So the paper I was using for Pages 9-10 was a diagonal striped black and white paper. I cut it into a few pieces along the diagonal stripes, distressed the edges and then fixed it to my white cardstock background. I then added white machine stitching through these pieces.

I have featured the Hey Santa charms on these pages: there are five on Page 10 all stitched into place and one on Page 9. I've also added some tags and a few pieces of ephemera and puffy stickers as well as my numbers.

I've also made a shaker pocket. It started off a piece of 6x8 white card and I stitched a vellum piece over the top, capturing some Spiegelmom Scraps sequins inside. I then added lots of lovely gold phrases from the Hey Santa Phrase Thickers set - I think it's lovely to make a feature out of these beautiful words. I also snowflakes, stars and leaves from the same set. I haven't decided yet whether this is going to go inside a page protector or be loose in the album, or be stuck onto something else...time will tell.

Thanks so much for joining me today

Happy scrapping

Niki xx
