Kirei's Layout using the March 4 Kit 'Lime Twist'

Friday 30 March 2012

Hi Everyone!

We had a fab kit to work with this week, very pretty and bright papers...makes you think of the summer coming! I had a cute pic of my friend Nicki and her daughter Phoebe that went perfectly with the papers.

I used the plum Bazzill as my base, firstly gutting a large part from the centre (I don't want to waste it!). I then cut a 7" x 11.5" piece of the green Bazzill and a 6" x 12" piece of the Lime Twist 'Perfect' paper. I then stuck down the green Bazzill to the plum Bazzill frame. The diecut Lime Twist circle was cut in half and then attached to the green Bazzill. Finally the Lime Twist 'Perfect' paper was then stuck down. I punched out some small flowers from the green Bazzill and stuck them randomly across the green Bazzill base. I mounted my 7" x 5" photo onto firstly the plum Bazzill and then to the teal Bazzill. This was attached on a slight slant to the right side of the layout.

I punched a mixture of size flowers from the Bazzill and Lime Twist papers and layered them up (you need 5 complete flowers in total). Attach a button (that has a piece of the striped twine tied through it) to each flower. A 3.75" x 4" piece of the Lime Twist 'Hello' paper was cut out and then border punched along one of the long edges. The last piece of striped twine was tied around the bottom (you need to be quite careful to save a small bit after tieing it through the buttons!). This was attached down to the bottom left of the photo. The flowers were then attached to the top right of the photo and the bottom left of the journalling square.

To finish off I used some tiny alphas from a past Kit to add some journalling to the Lime Twist 'Hello' piece, as well as some little jewels to bling it up!

This yummy Kit is available over at the Pages of Memories Online Store here.

Niki's layout using March 4 Kit: 'Lime Twist'

Thursday 29 March 2012

Hi Everyone

I'm sure you'll agree that yesterday's kit had some super cute papers and colours in it and here is my layout:

I really loved the die-cut paper and wanted to make the most of it on my layout so I tried to make it into a background feature but then I found I was struggling to showcase all the other papers! They were all so nice that I had to get them on somehow so I did some layering and got them all on in the end!

Given the photo, I wanted to create a water effect somehow so I cut out the blue circles on the blue spotty paper using a small circle punch and stuck them all over like bubbles and also used a wavy edge punch

I also stamped swirls in the top right corner and added a title with the most watery-type letters from my stash!

If you would like to purchase one of these kits you can do so here

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Kirei's Layout with the March Wk 3 Kit 'Kraft Funday'

Friday 23 March 2012

Hi Everyone!

I use kraft paper a lot so loved that this Kit contained three patterned sheets of it! The bunting paper was my favourite so decided to make that a feature and it was perfect to use with a photo of me and my godson Freddie at on a visit to a local soft play! I took the bunting side of the 'Celebration' paper and trimmed it to 11.5" x 11.5". I then took the 'Remember This' paper (diagonal side) and gutted a large section from the centre leaving approximately 3/4" on each of the four sides as I wanted to use some of this centre section for trims later. Stick the 'Celebration' paper (bunting side up) to the  'Remember This' paper (diagonal stripes side up. I then cut a 1" x 11.5" strip of the 'Remember This' paper and a 2.5" x 11.5" strip of the red Bazzill. Pick your favourite border punch and punch both strips along one edge. Attach to the bottom of your layout. Mount a 7" x 5" photo onto the pale green Bazzill and attach to the right side of the layout.

The bunting was made with a punch that I have but you could just as easily cut out some triangles and layer them up (I used 9 triangles). I attached them together with a piece of linen thread and then stuck them down on the top right corner of the layout. The Kit contained a fab pack of Kraft Funday stickers so I used the three stars and attached to the bunting.

I then added the 'Funtime' sticker and some of the kraft tickets (stamped with a ticket stamp that I had) to the bottom left corner of my photo. Did you notice how I cut a piece from the actual Kraft Funday sticker packaging (the three stars) and layered that up too!

Finally I finished off with some alphas from my own stash to create the title.

I made a variation of Niki's layout at one of her classes so here are the pics of that too...

This fab Kit is available for a short time at the Pages of Memories Online Store.

Niki's pages using 'Kraft Funday' kit

Thursday 22 March 2012

Hi Everyone

Here is my page using this week's kit 'Kraft Funday'

I thought I'd go mad and do a double page this week!  This layout is really quite simple. The trick with double page layouts is to have some continuity across both pages i.e. the strips at the bottom.

The Kraft Funday layered stickers made embellishment very easy this week and the die cut ticket strip also added to the effect. I have some stamps that I used to stamp on the tickets which really brought them to life, but if you don't have any of these you can always doodle on the ticket outline around the edge and stamp your usual sentiments in the middle!

If you like the look of this kit then it can be purchased here.

Thanks for stopping by, pop by again tomorrow to see what Kirei has done with this kit!

Kirei' Layout using the March Week 2 Kit 'World Traveller'

Friday 16 March 2012

Hi Everyone!

For this week's Kit we had the fab 'World Traveller' papers and cardstock stickers from Teresa Collins to work with. I decided to stick with the theme and use some photos from our trip to Vienna last year. I used the black side of the 'Black Damask' papers as my base, I did gut a section from this first before sticking down a 10" x 10" square of the kraft Bazzill (inked the edges first). Then I cut a 7" x 3.5" piece of the red side from the 'Red Brocade' papers, inked the edges and stuck it down to the top left of the kraft Bazzill.

My two photos were trimmed down from the standard 6" x 4" to approx. 5.75" x 3.5" though of course you can use any size that you wish to fit into the space. I used one of the stickers as a trim and attached it on the right side of the photos, and another tab sticker was added to the left photo. Then I cut two 12" strips of the red side of the 'Black Damask' papers and border punched them both. I cut a 5/8" x 12" strip of the black side of the 'Black Damask' papers (I had to cut two pieces and hide the join under a sticker) and these were mounted over the border punched strips onto the layout.

Finally I added the 'World Traveller' banner stickers to the top right of the kraft Bazzill. The
title was added using some black alphas from my stash.

I added some journalling with the Glitz Teeny Tiny alphas down the rightside of the photos.

This Kit is available for a limited time over at the Pages of Memories Online Store.

Niki's Layout using March 2 Kit 'World Traveler'

Thursday 15 March 2012

Hi Everyone

So what did you think of yesterday's kit? Something a bit different for you this week huh!

I really enjoyed using some of the darker colours - here is my layout:

I made the background pattern by stamping all over the beige card in brown ink using a script stamp and I inked the edges also using brown ink. I also added some faux stitching around the edges.

I made sure my stickers stretched as far as possible by butting the strips in half and covering the gap up with other things (such as the journaling panel below) and I also cut in half some of the other stickers to make features of them too...

I made some embellishments using circles cut from the leftover cardstock and added more stickers plus I added a title using some alphabet stickers from my stash and some from the Teeny Alpha included in the kit.

This kit costs £7.45 and can be purchased here.

Kirei's Layout using the March Week 1 Kit 'Rose Garden'

Friday 9 March 2012

Hi Everyone!

So this week's Kit was definitely a girly inspired one with some very pretty Echo Park and My Minds Eye papers. I had some very cute photos of our friend's daughter Lucy that were perfect to scrap with this Kit.

I used the pale pink floral side of the My Minds Eye 'Sisters' papers as my base and inked the edges with some Distress Ink. I then cut a 10.5" square of the pink Bazzill, border punched one edge and then stuck that down onto the 'Sisters' paper (keeping it over to the right side). Over this I mounted a 7.5" x 9.5" piece of the Echo Park 'Windchime' paper, using the bright pink side and ensuring I had the fancy scroll on the lefthand side. I again border punched the left edge and then inked all of the edges before sticking down.
I attached my photos (one 4" x 6", two 1 7/8" x 1 7/8", two 1 3/4" x 2") onto the paper, though I mounted the two smallest photos onto some of the 'Sisters' paper first.

Then I made the banner with the grey Bazzill and the striped side of the My Minds Eye 'Sisters' paper using a banner punch of mine. I hung them together with a piece of bakers twine from my stash and attached it to the top left corner of the pink Bazzill. You can see the tiny butterflies that I punched out and attached to the pink Bazzill as I just wanted something to stop it from looking too plain.

To embellish I used 3 of the flowers (coloured with Copic markers to match the papers) and attached them below my smallest photos. Then I took a strip of the Echo Park 'Windchime' paper and pleated it before attaching just below the bigger photos (I used Glossy Accents to stick it down as it dries quickly and is strong!).

To finish off I used the Glitz Teeny Alphas that came with the Kit for the title, combined with some black letters from my own stash.

Niki's Layout using March 1 Kit 'Rose Garden'

Thursday 8 March 2012

Hi All

Here is my layout using the 'Rose Garden' kit released yesterday:

I knew I wanted to do something floral with this kit given the lovely light pink Rose patterned paper and I had this wonderful picture of a gerbera plant that I actually went out into the rain to photograph. It went perfectly and I'm really pleased with the result.

I did my usual trick of cutting around the picture on the patterned paper so as not to cover it up and tucked the corner of my photo layer underneath it

I added a little title using the alphabet provided in the kit and added some faux stitching around it to make it stand out.

I inked my Petaloo flowers using light pink ink and then added a bit of dark pink to the edges I also made them shimmer slightly by covering them in Perfect Pearls

This kit costs £6.80 and can be purchased here.

Thanks for stopping by and check back tomorrow to see what layout Kirei has made using this kit xx

Kirei's Layout with the Feb Week 5 Kit 'Fresco'

Friday 2 March 2012

Hi Everyone!

For this week's kit we had some yummy papers from Prima, I was drawn to one of them instantly so decided to use it as the base for my layout. My photo suited the papers perfectly... it was taken in Las Vegas in 2010 a few days before we got married there!

The base for the layout was the 'Fresco' paper, I mounted my  7" x 5" photo onto the teal and light green Bazzill. For the central section I cut a 5" x 12" strip of the teal Bazzill. Before attaching this to the 'Fresco' paper I added patterned strips cut from the striped side of the 'Motif' paper. These were in varying lengths from 8.5" to 9.5". I attached these and layered some of the cream and teal ribbon over the top. I pleated the cream ribbon and then stapled it over the paper strips. I then stuck this down onto the 'Fresco' paper and added the mounted photo to the lefthand side.

I then added some of the pretty Prima flowers to the top left and bottom right corner, and added some leaves punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Then I just had the title and journalling to finish it all off... I used some Prima letters that I had from a previous Kit to journal down the right side of the teal Bazzill and added the date under the photo. I used some letters from my stash for the title.

This Kit is available for a limited time from the Pages of Memories Online Store.
