Good Vibes | Hip Kit Club | Moodboard Inspired | January 2022 Kits

Tuesday, 1 March 2022

Hey everyone

Here is my latest layout for Hip Kit Club using the January Kits. You can find the January Kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/january-2022

I was inspired by the moodboard today which has hearts, a geometric design and flowers. I choose that beautiful background paper and trimmed a section out of the middle to create an area of white space. I then cut my photos into heart shapes, mounted them on more hearts and then began adding my embellishments.

I needed to keep the embellishment fairly simple because of the very busy paper I’d used for the background, so I tucked in a few flowers, added a rainbow (another element on the moodboard) and some more hearts. I also used a chipboard title ‘good vibes’.

I added some tassels from the puffy stickers, and some wood veneer arrows – I love these as they have foiled details, beautiful.

I finished off with some splatters of white paint.

With a heavy heart this is my final layout for Hip Kit Club. I’ve been on the team for 3.5 years and it will be a big change to not be part of it going forward. I have a little too much on my plate at the moment and it is necessary to reduce some of my Design Team commitments so that’s what I’m doing. Hopefully it will be temporary, and I’ll be back soon!

Thanks so much for having me Hip Kit Club, it’s been a blast

Happy scrapping

Beautiful You | Hip Kit Club Mixed Media Monday

Wednesday, 16 February 2022

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the January Kits which can be found on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/january-2022. Today is Mixed Media Monday so I have focused on the Color Kit.

I started by using one of the stencils on a white background with some white texture paste. Once it was dry, I spritzed it with three colours of Shimmerz: the Frostbite blue that was in the January Colour Kit, Jeni B Blue which was in a past Colour Kit and a green colour from my stash. I sprayed directly onto the background. It’s great to see the colour run between the texture paste pattern, the effect is lovely.

I added my photos together with three geometric hearts cut with the metal dies. I backed these with white so they showed up better against the background. I added a few solid hearts and some other small embellishments such as the cute sequin puffy stickers, ephemera flowers and mandala puffy stickers.

I added a title in the black and white font from the January kits – I love these letters. I finished with a few splatters of white paint and some drops of black ink.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

3 Today Balloon Mini Album | Hip Kit Club | January 2022 Kits

Monday, 14 February 2022

Hi everyone! I have a mini album to share today for Hip Kit Club. I’ve used the January 2022 Kits which can be found on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/january-2022.

Our assignments today were to use lots of hearts, and to include five different patterned papers. I chose to go for a balloon shaped mini album because these photos are of my little boy’s third birthday. I included lots of hearts throughout the album.

I drew a balloon shape onto white card and cut it out which I then used as a template for the pages. I made seven balloon shaped pages. I made two into sequin shaker pockets and turned the rest into pocket pages by adding a vellum pocket. I machine stitched around the outside edge of all. I punched a hole in the top of each so the book could be bound by a book ring.

I added ribbons and twine to each of the balloons, as the strings. I made little booklets full of photos to go inside all the vellum pockets.

I decorated each page with a geometric heart cut using one of the metal dies and solid hearts too. On the front cover I used the balloon die too, inked it to match the paper and added ‘3’.

I used lots of little stickers, puffy stickers and ephemera inside the album.

I really love how it turned out. Thank so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Amazing Winter Sun | Hip Kit Club | December Main Kit Only

Saturday, 5 February 2022

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the beautiful December 2021 Kits. You can find the December Kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/december-2021.

Today I’m using the December Main kit only. I really wanted to use the patterned paper that looked like water as my photos are from our swimming pool on holiday. We managed to get away to sunny Florida for the Christmas break so spent lots of time in the sun and the pool. The paper reminded me of the ripples in the pool so I just had to use it with these photos.

I cut the paper into three large strips which I distressed and stuck to the background. I then used the chipboard frames in two ways: to frame three of my photos and also as layers behind the photos.

I added a few embellishments from the Main kit: snowflakes from the Puffy Stickers, labels and small shapes from the Chipboard Frames pack and a few items from the ephemera.

For my title I totally cheated and used the metal dies to cut the word ‘amazing’ and also used the small alphabet stickers from another kit to add the word ‘winter’. ‘Sun’ was from the alphabet stickers actually in the Main kit. I don’t usually cheat but a three word title like that would have been too overpowering in the large font only so I reached for the others too. I love how it looks.

I finished off with my journaling and splashes of white paint!

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Happiest | Hip Kit Club | Color Challenge

Sunday, 30 January 2022

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the beautiful December 2021 Kits. You can find the December Kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/december-2021.

Today I’m playing along with the weekly challenge which is a Color Challenge and is to make a monochromatic layout. I chose to go for blue tones for this layout. I started with a white background and then picked out lots of different blue bits and pieces from the kits.

I cut some strips of light blue patterned paper and layered these vertically on the background. I added my photo and a chipboard frame. I then created a large embellishment cluster on the bottom right corner of the photo consisting of ephemera, puffy stickers and snowflakes cut using the metal dies. I added a much smaller cluster on the top left corner too to help balance out the large cluster.

I added my title on the vertical down the right side of the photo.

I finished off with splashes of white paint and a few splatters of black ink too! I really love how this one turned out.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Snow Much Fun | Hip Kit Club | Product Focus

Friday, 21 January 2022

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the beautiful December 2021 Kits. You can find the December Kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/december-2021.

I’m focusing on the exclusive Ephemera packs in the December kits today. I was also challenged to include three photos in a creative way. I turned my three photos into a photo booth style strip which is something a bit different for me and definitely took me out of my comfort zone!

I used some of the patterned paper on the right of the layout and added second pattern for interest. I love the soft colours in these papers. I added my photo strip to the middle and then started adding the ephemera pieces.

I focused mostly on snowflakes due to the subject of my photo and attempted to embellish colour-on-colour style with the pinks at the bottom left and the blues at the top right. I used chipboard frames, a journaling spot and lots of snowflakes and stars. I also tucked in some flowers and leaves. Those ombre puffy stickers from the Main kit are so pretty!

For my title I used the two different alphabet stickers from the kits to create ‘snow much fun’ with the emphasis on the word ‘much’.

I finished with splashes of white paint and handwrote my journaling.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Magical | Hip Kit Club | Mixed Media Monday

Wednesday, 12 January 2022

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the beautiful December 2021 Kits. You can find the December Kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/december-2021.

Today is Mixed Media Monday so I have focused on the December Color Kit and also on the beautiful metal dies.

I started by applying the Nuvo Galcier paste through the snowflake stencil onto an area on a white cardstock background. I let this dry completely before adding anything else. I then added chipboard frames and my photo which I mounted onto a Pocket Life card.

I tucked in lots of the beautiful exclusive ephemera pieces, particularly leaves. I also added puffy leaves. I tucked in several dark blue snowflakes that I cut with the metal dies and used the word ‘magical’ for my title, which was also cut from the metal dies.

I added smaller snowflakes cut with the metal dies and then added other small embellishments such as label stickers and chipboard pieces.

I finished with splashes of white paint and lots of the Silver Crystals Nuvo Glitter Drops – they are so gorgeous!

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Winter Village | Hip Kit Club | Moodboard Inspired

Tuesday, 4 January 2022

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the beautiful December 2021 kits. I love the winter feel and soft icy colours of this kit. You can find the December kits on the Hip Kit Club website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/december-2021

Today I have been inspired by the January moodboard. It’s super pretty with a winter scene, triangles and trees.

I decided to make a winter scene and use that fabulous house paper. I started off by making a zig zag ‘road’ or ‘hills’ out of triangles. I cut strips of 4x12” patterned paper and cut them at an angle to make triangles. I stacked these on the bottom of my layout creating a zig zag effect. I distressed the edges and raised them too so that I could tuck things in.

I then added my photos which I mounted on Pocket Life cards and then added lots of fussy cut houses around the photos. I added lots of trees too, from ephemera and also fussy cut from the houses paper. I added more trees from the puffy stickers so I have lots of different textures on the layout.

I created a title using the word Winter from the puffy stickers and the word Village from the small alphabet stickers.

I added label stickers that have such lovely phrases, some snowflakes and some stars & hearts. I really love how this layout turned out and I would never have made it but for the inspiration the mood board provided!

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
