Hey everyone! Have you seen the Baking Spirits Bright
collection by Simple Stories? I absolutely adore it! It is obviously Christmas
themed and is about Christmas baking! Even if you aren’t a baker yourself
though, it is packed full of fun icons, embellishments and prints that work for
generic Christmas photos too.
My favourite icons in this collection are the gingerbread
men! There’s a whole pack of Gingerbread Bits & Pieces which are just so
fun! We ‘make’ a gingerbread house every year (well actually I buy a pre-made
kit and we just stick it together and decorate it!) so this collection is
perfect to document those photos!
I really wanted to use the paper with the gingerbread people
all over it but as a full sheet it may have been too busy for a background, so
I cut off the top half of the paper, carefully fussy cutting around all the
people. The result was a gingerbread people – shaped border! I added this to a
piece of red paper from the Baking Spirits Bright collection which gave me a busy
top half of the layout and a more plain lower half of the layout.
I mounted my photo into one of the Chipboard Frames and positioned
this on the right side of my layout. I added a title from the Foam Stickers
underneath and added embellishments from the Foam Stickers, Bits & Pieces
and Gingerbread Bits & Pieces around the frame.
I also made a little embellishment cluster of little items
from the Bits & Pieces underneath the title, and I added some raised stars to
the gingerbread background too. I finished off with a couple of lines of
journaling and some splatters of white paint.
