Whatever | Hip Kit Club | July Main Kit Only

Saturday 22 August 2020

Hey everyone, I have a new layout for Hip Kit Club today. Today's assignment was to use the July Main Kit only and also to create a masculine layout and to use stitching to create an interesting background.

You can find the July Kits on the Hip Kit Club website .

I have used the fabulous blue and green patterned paper by Pink Paislee 'and many more' collection. I paired it with the Dear Lizzy Here and Now navy paper with white diagonal stripes. When I create a masculine layout I usually go for greens and blues so these two papers were perfect.

I used a journaling card from the Dear Lizzy Cut Apart sheet and two photos of two of my lovely boys (there is a third one but he wouldn't pose!) I machine stitched several tines behind the photos and the large journaling card to create my 'interesting background' I'm not such I quite achieved 'interesting'!

Because I was only supposed to use my July Main kit and it's about the 5th layout I've made with this kit - I was a little limited on the embellishments I had left to use! So I got creative with the stamp set that came in the Main Kit and made my own embellishments. I stamped all the stamps several time onto white card in navy ink and then cut then out. This was a great way to make extra embellishment when I was a little light on my kit.

I also punched a few stars from patterned papers and used those as embellishments too. I also stamped the phrase 'picture perfect' onto the layout directly multiple times.

I finished with some enamel dots, a title from the Simple Stories Kate & Ash collection phrase stickers and I also made some splatters with my navy ink pad.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout and it will inspire you to scrap the boys in your life. There is also a process video that can be viewed below.

Happy scrapping

Niki xx
