Only Scraps Allowed...mist

Monday 17 September 2012

Morning peeps!

I've been suffering from internet problems all weekend so that's why I didn't post yesterday and am late posting today. Fingers crossed it's working right now but it's been very intermittent all weekend so bear with me!

Sophie started her first full day at nursery today and was super miserable before I dropped her off due to a bad night's sleep, sore gums (I think) and the start of a cold. Goodness knows how she's going to get on but on the other hand it might just be the distraction she needs. Fingers crossed.

Right, onto this week's Only Scraps Allowed Challenge. This week I had a lovely photo of our friend Russel's niece Maisey holding Sophie when she was really tiny and I've been wanting to scrap it for ages for Sophie's album(s). Maisey is wearing a turquoise/teal top so I thought I'd incorporate that into the colour scheme. Here are the scraps I picked out:

This week's challenge is to incorporate mist into your layout. I love mist. I only have a few bottles but I use some on almost every layout I do at the moment. I think it adds just that extra bit of dimension to a layout and mixes up the background paper a bit. Plus there is also the option to ink splatter too - another thing I love! Here is the layout I came up with using my scraps and mist:

The mist has been sprayed from the centre of the layout towards the top left corner. I knew there was going to be some white space on this part of the layout and my title so this place was perfect for misting and ink splattering.

If you fancy joining in this week just create a layout using only paper scraps (one whole sheet allowed for the background) and incorporate mist somewhere onto your layout. You can add any embellishments you like - easy! Then link your layouts below.

A good day to all - I'm going to enjoy my child free day by filling it with lots of crafting!
