52 Layouts Step-by-Step #14 Alphabet Soup

Friday 7 September 2012

Morning all.
Still no news on the camera, hopefully today...

I have another installment of 52 Layouts Step-by-Step for you today. This is what you need to join in:
One sheet of cardstock
Three sheets of patterned paper  (I've got two full sheets and one half sheet)
Two more smaller pieces: one patterned one plain, both 6x6
Die cut frame or shape
A few brads in different sizes
two 6x4 photos
Alphabets - big and small which I forgot to photograph (again!)

Step 1
Choose your background pattern. Ink the edges and punch a butterfly in the top right corner. Ink the edges of that too.

Step 2
Cut a large patterned paper strip to 6x12", ink the edges and stick across the page near the bottom.

Step 3
Cut another strip of patterned paper to 2.5x12", ink the edges and stick down.

Step 4
and another strip of PP, this time 4x11.5".  Ink the edges and stick vertically to the left side of the layout.

Step 5
Take your two pieces of 6x6. Ink the edges of them then stick together, overlapping the patterned one over the plain, to form one piece 6x9". This can be stuck down.

Step 6
Trim your photos down to 5x4" and mount onto plain card 5 1/4 x 8 1/4". Stick the mounted photos to the layout but do not stick the bottom right corner...

Step 7
Take your die cut frame and draw around it on a piece of subtle/light patterned paper. Cut this out and stick to the reverse of your fame.  Then stick the completed frame to the layout, tucking it under the bottom right corner of the photos.

Step 8
Add a title.

Step 9
Add your brads to various places around the layout.

Step 10
Write in your journaling.
(As scrapbookers you might find this funny. Journaling reads: "the letter 's' had been floating around the lounge for a few days  after it must have got stuck to me. I noticed that Sophie had something in her mouth and when I investigated I noticed the 's' had gone. She stuck her tongue out at me and there it was right on the end!"

And here is the layout all completed. I think the embellishment areas look slightly bare with just the brads so I might have to go back and add a bit more to those areas but you get the idea! If you'd like to play along this week then please add your layout to the linky below.

To join in next week you will need:
3 sheets of patterned paper
1 sheet of card and another smaller piece
3 landscape 6x4 photos
Die cut shapes
Brads
Alphabets - small and large
(sound a bit similar to this week actually!)

See you next week!
