Hey everyone!
I have a second layout to share today for Simple Stories using the Simple
Vintage Weathered Garden collection. I love all the pretty florals in this
collection.
I framed a
photo with one of the chipboard frames from the Weathered Garden collection. It’s
a beautiful woodgrain frame with pretty details on the side. My photo fitted perfectly and looked super
lovely framed in this way.
I settled
on the yellow gingham print for my background which I trimmed down a little and
distressed the edges. I mounted this onto one of the black sheets from the
Weathered Garden 12x12 Basics Kit. I love the dramatic look that black outlines
gives the layout!
I added a
long journaling card from one of the cut apart sheets together with another piece
of yellow patterned paper. I distressed the edges of both and angled these onto
my background together with my framed photo.
I then
fussy cut lots of beautiful blooms from one of the Weathered Garden papers. This
paper had a black background and when I fussy cut the flowers I left a narrow
black outline. This really helped the flowers show up against the busy gingham
background. I curled all the flowers too to give dimension. I arranged the
flowers in a diagonal design at two corners of the frame.
I then
added a number of label stickers. The phrases are really lovely saying things
like ‘live love laugh’, ‘make the most of today’ and ‘the good life’. I also
added a few hearts, both from the Foam Stickers and from the Bits & Pieces
pack.
I finished
off with white machine stitching around the edge of the gingham print, my
journaling and splatters of black and white paint.
Thank you
so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
Niki xx
