Hey
everyone! I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club using the October
2021 Hip Kits. I’ve used the Main kit and Cardstock kit only and I’ve also used
an exclusive cut file to create this Halloween themed layout.
I started
off by cutting the cut file three times from three different sheets: the pink bats,
the black & white skulls and the purple cardstock. I cut these all the same
size. I layered them on top of each other and offset them slightly to get a
shadow effect.
I used a
piece of white card for my background. I trimmed it down and distressed the
edges. I distressed it further by using a black ink pad to add edging to the
white but also to make it look dirty around the corners and in the middle too.
I then mounted this onto the remaining part of the skulls paper but with the
other side showing for my border.
I stuck the
spider web onto the middle of the background and added two photos, both mounted.
I picked out all the fun Halloween pieces from the exclusive ephemera but I
wanted to make it a little more spooky. So I took the wood veneer leaves and covered
them with black embossing powder which I then heat embossed. This made those
leaves suitably spooky! I tucked these to the right of my photos and popped a
cute ghost peeking over the top!
I then
added the exclusive ephemera...the haunted house, pumpkin, witches house and
October 31 sign.
I then
fussy cut lots of pink, white and purple bats from the bats paper and arranged
these onto the layout. I finished off with a few punched stars and splatters of
black ink.
I really
love how this turned out! It is way more spooky that I had imagined I could
make it! I love Halloween so this was great fun to scrap.
