Christmas Eve | Bella Blvd | Sketch & Let Us Adore Him Collection

 

Hi everyone! Here is my latest layout for Bella Blvd using the brand new Let Us Adore Him collection. I am playing along with the sketch challenge this week.

I decided to choose four patterns from the Let us Adore Him collection to form the block background. I liked the red and green prints and also that pink background with green holly leaves is adorable. I cut the strips to 2” x 8” and distressed the edges. I also stitched around each one on my sewing machine.

I mounted my photo on one of the journaling cards from the cut apart sheet. I added it to the left side of the layout, as per the sketch. I then added lots of flowers around the photo…ephemera and chipboard.

To the right of my photo I added my title, made up of the acrylic word ‘Christmas’ and ‘eve’ made with stickers. I stuck the alphabet stickers onto white card first and trimmed around them so they would show against the red patterns on the background.

I then embellished the layout using different products. I attempted to embellish colour-on-colour so that I had green embellishments on the green section – I like the way this technique makes the layout flow.

The sketch has some stitching around the the colour block. Instead of doing this I handwrote my journaling around the edge instead.

I finished off with some white splatters.
