Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit
Club. I've used the February 2021 Kits which can be found on the website here:
https://www.hipkitclub.net/february-2021 and I'm playing along with this week's
sketch challenge. Join in with the weekly challenges over on the Hip Kit Club
Group on Facebook and there are prizes to win too.
I am using an Easter photo for this layout so went through
the February 2021 kit to pick out the colours that would work for Easter. I
chose a colour scheme of light blue, light pink, yellow and woodgrain. I
decided to stay quite close to the original sketch that was designed by Kate.
I started off with one of the exclusive die cut journaling
cards. The one I used is white with multiple die cut hearts. I backed this with
a pink Journaling card from the Pocket Life kit and machine stitched around the
edge. I positioned this behind my photo together with another pale pink
journaling card. I choose to use some of the woodgrain paper for the large
middle panel on the sketch. I trimmed a piece out and tore the two ends. I also
added 6x4 journaling card behind that so I ended up with quite a lot of layers
on my layout.
The sketch has some mixed media but instead of using paint
as I would usually, I used the clear mixed media exclusive stickers from the
February kit - these turned out so well and actually look like paint has been
used! I love the effect of these. I then added lots of flowers from Pinkfresh
Studio Some Days as well as a couple of fussy cut rainbows and other bits from
the exclusive ephemera.
I finished off with some twiddles of gold thread and some
splatters of Dandy Lion Shimmerz from the February Color kit. And I added a
title using alphabet stickers.
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping! Don't
forget to play along with the sketch challenge.
Niki xx
