Hi everyone, I have two more pages from my December Album to share today for Lottie Loves Paper. I'm using a mixture of Crate Paper Hey Santa and Cocoa Vanilla Studio Merry & Bright collections.
Today's layout are for Days 26 & 27. For both these pages I have taken inspiration from other people. Sometimes I see ideas from other people and groups that I just have to do myself. I never copy directly and always make the layouts into something true to my style, but the initial inspiration has come from elsewhere. For Day 26 I have seem lots of people making split pages: two 3x8 strips, one half a photo and the other half either patterned paper or embellishments. I really loved the idea of using a 3x8 photo in black and white so choose one of my little boy playing intently with a new toy. I stitched this to the other patterned paper piece using zig zag machine stitching and then added some embellishments and journaling. This page was very quick and simple to put together.
For Day 27, I took inspiration from the amazing Cristina Sales. She has such a unique style that I really admire, and even though I would never be able to re-create it she inspires me so much! She made a DD layout on a pink background with a doily, a square photo and an oversized number. I loved this layout so much and so I pulled out a doily and made myself an oversized number on my Silhouette machine. I cut the number twice: once on white and once on red and I stuck the together for an offset effect. I cut my photo to a circle and cut some more circles from white card. I then added fussy cut flowers, all in shades of pink and red. These were from the Merry & Bright collection. I added ephemera, a flair badge and also the word 'merry' from the Hey Santa Hey Santa Puffy gold Thickers. I also added gold snowflakes from the Hey Santa Confetti pack.
I machine stitched around the edge of the layout and I love how this turned out.
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
Niki xx
