December Album Day 25 | Lottie Loves Paper

Thursday 14 January 2021

Hey everyone, I have two more pages from my December Album to share today for Lottie Loves Paper. I'm using a mixture of Crate Paper Hey Santa and Cocoa Vanilla Studio Merry & Bright collections.

Today's layouts are for Day 25 - the big day!! This is what the whole festive season has been leading up to so I have made Day 25 into a double page spread with a cute 'Santa stop here' insert.

For the left side I created a gatefold page. I did this by taking a piece of card 8x12" and scoring at 3" in from each side - super easy. I cut a large star from white card with a metal die and added the title 'The Big Day' onto it and stitched it through on my sewing machine. I stuck the left side of the star to the left side of the gatefold and the star then acted like a closure. I added some embellishments from Hey Santa and fussy cut flowers and embellishments from Merry & Bright to the outside of the gatefold, including my '25' number. Inside the gatefold, I added a large 6x8 photo of Santa who we managed to catch by our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve! I added embellishments to the photo itself and to the sides too. I also added strips for my journaling.

For the right side I made a layout using a cut file 'he's been' by Peartree cut files, my photo and a few embellishments. I added a gorgeous embroidered star that my friend sent me too along with a vellum speech bubble that says 'we wish you a merry Christmas'.

I also made an insert with a fun cut file by Paige Evans. It's a stop sign and says 'Santa stop here'. I cut it in white and backed it in red. I added glitter to the letters and the outer edge too. I applied the glitter just using wet glue and I sealed it later with glossy accents because it was shedding everywhere! I then stitched the insert to the page protector that held my 'he's been' layout so it can be folded open to reveal the layout.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Niki xx
