Card Making Corner, is it Christmas ALREADY?!

Thursday 14 June 2012

So we're looking at cards today. Christmas cards to be precise. I had several requests for a Christmas themed stamp-a-stack class earlier than October which is when I usually run my Christmas classes. So I dusted off my bestest Christmas stamps and got creating.

Stamp-a-Stack classes are timed classes and we make 10 quick-make cards in two hours, 2 each of 5 different designs. People have 20 minutes per station and as soon as the buzzer goes off, everyone changes stations and moves on to the next design.  They are great fun and I had 10 people for my most recent class - that is the absolute maximum I can fit in my craft room (plus me of course!) and we all had to breathe in a bit!

The cards are very simple because people have to make two of them in 20 minutes!

So here is the first one:

This is a very cute Santa stamp but is from a retired SU set unfortunately. The background is stamped with a mini poinsettia stamp. The sentiment is stamped onto scrap card, then punched out and then inked so that it stands out.

Here is the second one:
I got the idea of the snow and Dasher from the fabulous Monica. The snow has been sponged on using white ink and the snowflakes have been stamped in this too - really effective!

And the third one:
This one is stamped with the snowman tag from 'Tags til Christmas' stamp set but without the 'To' and 'From' and then embellished with glitter. There are also pretty snowflakes stamped all over the blue background.

and the fourth one: (are you bored yet?)
I got this idea from Claire Daly - what a fab colour combo! I would never have considered this combo for Christmas but it works very well.  The baubals have been sparkled up with a few gems to make them extra pretty.

and finally, the last one:
This is my favourite one - clean and simply style. I cased it from Kriss Huels and added some extra bling.

We had a fab time at this class - a good time was had by all. Merry Christmas everyone!
