A Very Spoooky Banner | Lottie Loves Paper

Friday 30 October 2020

Hey everyone, I have a new 'project' to share today...not a layout! Basically I've been making lots of Halloween layouts lately with the Spoooky collection by Pebbles, and I had SOOOOOO much ephemera left over that I decided to make a home decor banner, loaded full of fun Halloween icons, to hang on my stairs.

I made a simple banner back in May for my husband's 40th birthday, which has sat in the cupboard unused ever since, so I decided to re-purpose it. I took the 40 off five pennants so was left with five plain black pennant shapes...then I began loading!

First I added pom pom trim around the outside edges of the pennants. I stitched these in place. I added dangling charms to the bottom point of each pennant too.

I wrapped bakers twine around one, and cut some cut files by Peartree Cut Files (Spider web and Potions) out of silver glitter paper and added those. I added fun titles to the pennants: Yikes, Boo, Spooky and Scary.

For one of the pennants, I cut three star shapes using metal dies and turned them into glitter and sequin shaker pockets.

I also made the CUTEST witches broomstick, totally inspired by Shara Crane and the ones she makes, it was so fun to make!

This banner is now hanging proudly on my stairs, above all our fabulous pumpkins we have carved this year!

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed this slightly different project from me! There is a process video that can be viewed below.

Happy Halloween and happy scrapping
