52 Layouts Step by Step: Wash Day!

Friday 12 October 2012

Greetings from Barbados!
It's nice and sunny here but we've had a few showers at inconvenient times and Sophie is afraid of the sand. He he he! The jetlag is a bit of a killer and I'm really suffering but give it a few days and I'm sure I'll be sorted.

To join in with this week's 52 Layouts you'll need the following:
3 x patterned papers (one of mine is die cut)
one piece of card
Fabrips (I'm new to these too...!)
Alphabet stickers
Trim
A few embellishments - I've gone for chipboard banners and a couple of flowers.

Step 1
Choose a background and ink the edges.

Step 2
Cut your die cut paper (or just another patterned paper) to 10" square, ink the edges and stick to the bottom left corner of the layout.

Step 3
Cut a strip of another patterned paper to 2.5"x11", ink the edges and stick to the layout.

Step 4
Add some trim across the whole layout.

Step 5
Rip up part of your fabrip and stick it to your layout, pleating it.

Step 6
Mount a 6x4 photo onto kraft card 6.25x4.25 and stick it to the layout.

Step 7
Cover a chipboard shape with more of your fabrip. I cut it just a little too big then tucked the edged round the shape. I also tried to ink the edges of this but it didn't absorb the ink very well. Stick to layout.

Step 8
Add some pretty flowers.

Step 9
Add a title.

Step 10
And finally write in your journaling or subtitle. I've just gone for the date in my banner but there is plenty of space to do some real journaling if you want.

And here's the layout all finished, I hope you like it!
