Challenge #1: Start with a Sketch

Friday 1 August 2014

Yey - happy weekend everyone and the UK Scrappers 2014 Summer Scrapbooking Challenge is here! We have a weekend packed full of challenges for you to keep you scrapping over the summer. The challenges are on UK Scrappers but I will also be posting them on my blog here too.
The first challenge starts right now (!) and the last will be posted at 4pm on Sunday. BUT the best thing is you have until the official end of summer :(  30th September, to upload your layouts to the gallery.

These challenges are just for fun but you will be able to collect additional points for your team if you take part in points-collecting. Details of the points for each challenge and how to claim them will be in the UKS SSC forum.  If you don’t claim Team points then please join in for your own enjoyment and we hope to still see your finished layouts in the UKS Gallery.

Please also share your work on Instagram using the hashtag #uks2014summerscrapbookingchallenge.
So, without further ado, here is the first challenge:  Challenge #1 is an easy one: just a sketch for you to follow, no other criteria. See, I told you it was easy. There is also a video below too. Challenge #1 is worth 10 bonus points for your team if you are a points-collector.

Most of my layouts for the UKS 2014 Summer Scrapbooking Challenge are from a weekend we recently spent at Peppa Pig World and this one is no exception. I have an enormous title so I extended that to the bottom of the layout and also ate into my journaling space a little bit.

The background paper I've used is the #Summer collection by American Crafts. I've also used a Hey Little Magpie flair badge and the Kiwi PL sample pack, also available at HLM.

My UKS team mate Ruth rotated the sketch and has made a lovely clean and simple style sample layout:

We'll be back very shortly with another challenge so pop back later this evening. Happy scrapping x
