Christmas Hottie

Sunday 18 November 2012

I've been trying for a while to master colouring blonde hair and colouring with reds. I have found both to be really tricky in the past so this week I have been practicing. I got some ideas online re blonde hair and have had a go in several different shades and I found this tutorial on youtube for colouring using red.   That video was excellent and really helped me with loads of tips and techniques for getting the perfect red.  These two things have come together today in the form of my husband's Christmas card this year. I used the challenge over at KennyK's Krafty Krew which is 'Sassy Christmas and this sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp:
and came up with this:

I absolutely love this image by KennyK. She is called 'Christmas Hottie' and I know she will definitely appeal to Ben. She's taken me nearly two hours to colour in (I wonder if he will appreciate the effort?) but at last I am happy with the red blends and the blonde hair. I glittered up the white bits and put glossy accents all over her boots to make them look like leather although this hasn't come out too well in the picture.

What Christmas card would be complete without an enormous bow (?!) and I added a snowflake charm in there to give it a bit more interest.

I printed the sentiment on my computer as I didn't quite have the right stamp.

I'm quite proud of how this one turned out - hope you like it and happy scrapping peeps!
