Adventure | Bramble Fox | May 2021 Products

Wednesday, 12 May 2021

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Bramble Fox. I’m using some new sets from the shop: ‘Weekend’, ‘Banners – Travel’ in Bubblegum and Denim, and ‘Forest’.

I’ve used the Safe Travels collection by Simple Stories. This is a travel themed collection but the colours and words are also great for outdoorsy photos. I started off by using a large pink area of paper for the background but I tore off the top. I added a strip of blue floral paper behind it and left the top part of the layout white. I then put the Adventure title at the top which worked very well because the beautiful blue showed up beautifully against the white.

I mounted my four little photos and arranged these under the torn pieces together with part of a chipboard frame that says ‘let’s go’. I used the other part of the frame at the bottom of the layout together with two tags that I stitched around with machine stitching.

Once all the basic elements were in place I then set about embellishing. I used the Banners – Travel in the denim colour to embellish around my photos. I love the words ‘escape’, ‘freedom’, ‘this way’ and ‘explore’ – perfect for my outdoors photos. I also added several of the Forest trees, both on my photos but also at the top of the layout and one at the bottom too.

I finished with machine stitching on the background paper (zig zags down the vertical lines), my journaling, a few splatters and some woodgrain sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Ten | Bella Blvd | Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre, Acrylics and Aria

Tuesday, 11 May 2021

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Bella Blvd! My assignment today was to use Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre, as well as Acrylics and Aria Puffy Alphas.

I choose the White Ombre paper for my background and pulled out three more colours of Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre: Cotton Candy, Peep and Punch so all the pinks today! I choose to scrap a photos of my gorgeous girl who has just celebrated her 10th birthday so this layout had to be pink for my Pink Princess!

I decided to make a large concertina rosette using strips of the three pink papers. I cut a strip from the three colours 4.5”x12” and scored at every half inch. I concertina folded these and glued the together with a hot glue gun. I then glued the ends together too and flattened it into a rosette. I secured it with a circle on the back and then stuck it to my background paper – I absolutely love how it turned out!!

I added three acrylics to my rosette: Hip Hip Hooray, fabulous and Wish Big – all perfect for this layout and all in pink tones too. I arranged these onto the right side of the rosette.

I added two photos to the rosette too and also wrote the word ‘ten’ three times on the rosette too using Aria Puffy  Alphabet stickers in the same three pink colours: Cotton Candy, Peep and Punch. I secured these with extra adhesive due to the bumpy surface of my rosette!

I then created a border around the outside of my rosette using Florence Alphabet stickers in the same three colours: Cotton Candy, Peep and Punch. I repeated the word ‘ten’ over and over and also interspersed each word with the numerical 10. I separated them with little hearts also from the Florence alphabet stickers. I matched the alphabet stickers to the coloured section on the rosette.

I added a machine stitched border around the edge of my layout and also added pink strips to the top and bottom of the layout flush with the edge which were then revealed a little by folding up the edges of the layout.

I then punched a few hearts in different sizes from the leftover papers and arranged them onto my rosette too. I finished by writing my journaling into one of the hearts and I also added a few splatters of pink paint.

I really love how this layout turned out – it is so perfect for my lovely girl and a great way to document her 10th birthday.

Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping

Sweet Life | Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden

Friday, 7 May 2021

Hey everyone, I have another layout to share today for Simple Stories, using Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden collection which is a new collection that will be arriving at stores very soon.

I really wanted to use the paper with all the farm animals all over it but it was a little busy to use as a full background so instead I made it into a feature at the top of the page. I tore a large strip and then another strip in the black & white gingham print and layered these two together over a sheet of turquoise paper from the Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden 12x12 Basics pack. I’m in love with these Basics papers. They coordinate with the main collection but are solid colours with subtle patterns such as grids or lines and they are perfect for backgrounds.

I added my photo together with three journaling cards cut from the patterned papers. I stitched around all these with black thread. I also made a tag from the black & white gingham paper and I machine stitched around that too and added ribbon and twine.

I added to my photo cluster with ephemera from the Garden Bits and Bits & Pieces packs and I also added some adhesive Decorative Brads – I love those.

For my title I created a little cluster at the bottom of my layout using a long sticker from the Sticker book and a pig also from the sticker book. I wanted to raise him up on foam pads so I stuck him onto a piece of white card and trimmed around him to make him a little more sturdy first. I added the word ‘Sweet’ from the Foam Stickers and the word ‘Life’ from the alphas in the Sticker Book to make up the title Sweet Life. I finished off by handwriting my journaling into the journaling spot next to my photo and a few splatters of black ink.

Thank you so very much for joining me today and I hope you love the Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden collection as much as I do!

Happy scrapping

My Sunshine | Hip Kit Club | Mixing March & April Kits

Hey everyone, here is my latest layout for Hip Kit Club. My assignment today was to mix the March and April kits. You can find the March kits on the website here:  https://www.hipkitclub.net/march-2021 and the April kits on the website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/april-2021

I pulled two papers from the March kit, a yellow chevron and a yellow, green and pink floral. I also selected a paper from the April kit: a black and white Maggie Holmes Garden Party print. I cut my photos into circles and my papers into circles, using metal dies.

I arranged the circles and photos onto my layout and stuck them all in place. I then added flowers from the April stickers and chipboard. I also added some bows and puffy hearts. For my title I used the word Sunshine from the April stickers and the word ‘my’ from the April Thickers.

I added brads from the Bunnies and Blooms Brads and yellow gems too. I then added all the little green Mother of Pearl hearts – these are gorgeous. I haven’t seen embellishments like them before and they were so easy to attach by piercing two holes, threading the soft wires through and twisting them in place on the back.

I finished off with my journaling, some Mustard Seed Vibez splatters (March kit) and a few drops of intense black ink.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you enjoy how this layout turned out!
Happy scrapping

The Great Outdoors | Bramble Fox | May 2021 Fox Box

Tuesday, 4 May 2021

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Bramble Fox using the May 2021 Fox Box. I am focusing today on The Great Outdoors title, the tree trio and the other two loose trees. I love these so much and have perfect photos of my kiddies building a den in the woods.

I’ve used the Safe Travels collection from Simple Stories. I started with one of the chipboard frames and trimmed it down a bit to fit my photo. I cut two large pieces of patterned paper, distressed the edges and added machine stitching. Fussy cut two tags from one of the Safe Travels paper and then added ribbon to one of the tags and pom pom trim to the chipboard frame.

I arranged all these pieces onto a white cardstock background and added a little photo too. I then added a few embellishments from the Safe Travels collection: a few labels, some chipboard and some arrows.
I added the Perspextives. The title looks great over the patterned paper and those trees are super cute!

I finished off with some sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps and some splatters of pink paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and check out the May Fox Box for these awesome outdoorsy Perspextives!
Happy scrapping

Mummy Love | Bella Blvd

Monday, 3 May 2021

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Bella Blvd. This week is ‘Mom’ week and we are celebrating Mother’s Day with our projects. I choose to scrapbook a photo of me and my little two year old boy, Theo. He is always saying ‘mummy’, it is his absolutely favourite word and I hear it so many times every day! He is also giving me a kiss in the photos – super cute!

I choose a monochrome colour scheme of blues and black. I picked out some mixed media colours to use and created a background on a sheet of white. I applied the paint with the packaging technique, added splatters and also some big drips. I used Shimmerz Paints: Refresh Mint, Boogie Boardin’ Blue, Steely Blue Eyes, Oakie Bear Blue, and Hint of Mint.

While my background was drying, I started to make some folded hearts. I picked out four colours from the Bella Besties Freehand Graph and dot pack: Black, Blueberry, Ice & Gulf. I cut these into small pieces of 3x4”, 4x5.5” and 2.5x3”. I cut one of each size from each of the four colours. I rounded off the ends and then concertina folded the rectangles. Once folded I then folded the concertina strip in half and glued the inner edges together using a hot glue gun. Once dry and fanned out, this creates a super cute folded heart! I repeated this technique for all the rectangles and ended up with three different sized hearts in each of the four colours.

I arranged the folded hearts onto my mixed media background, together with my photos which I printed in black and white. I stuck all the hearts to the background with a hot glue gun to make sure they stayed in place! I had a few gaps in between my folded hearts so took a tiny heart punch and scraps of the same papers, and punched lots of tiny hearts which I glued in between the folded hearts and above and below them too.

I then pulled out the same four colours of Florence alphabet stickers: Black, Blueberry, Ice & Gulf. I added the word ‘Mummy’ in each colour in the same area of colour on my layout. I also added a few hearts from the Florence alphabet stickers too.

I added a few hearts and arrows from the Trinkets packs in Black, Blueberry and Ice & Gulf and I finished off with my journaling, some more splatters and some large drops of black ink.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you like how this layout turned out.

Happy scrapping

Adventure | Bella Blvd National Scrapbooking Day 2021 | Instagram Hop

Saturday, 1 May 2021

Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Bella Blvd. I’m using the Let’s Go on an Adventure collection and today we are celebrating National Scrapbooking Day by scrapbooking (or using) something we love and taking part in an Instagram Hop! Well that was a lovely challenge. I choose photos of my two boys who I love lots and lots of course so that was the subject matter sorted. Take part in the Hop by starting on the Bella Blvd Instagram Feed.

Then I started choosing the products I was going to use. I choose the Let’s go on an Adventure collection as everyday is an adventure with my two boys! I picked out the fabulous plaid or checked paper in blue and green. I absolutely love checked designs so this was perfect for this challenge. I trimmed it down, distressed the edges and paired it with white card and a sheet of Bella Besties Pickle Juice paper. I arranged them in a corner design.

I added the word ‘adventure’ from the Let’s Go on an Adventure chipboard stickers down the left side of my layout and added my photos at the top corner. I added black machine stitching around the edges of the layers too.

I then chopped up the remaining piece of the plaid paper into squares, distressed the edges of each and then added them to the background, offsetting the pattern. I then embellished each of these squares with items from the ephemera packs, enamel shapes and Heart Hug.

Behind my photos I added some journaling cards, a tag which I tied through with washi tape and I added a small embellishment cluster to the bottom left corner of my photo. I finished off the layout by adding my journaling and some splatters of white paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Say Cheese | Bramble Fox NSD 2021 Challenge

Hi everyone, happy National Scrapbooking Day! Here is a new layout for Bramble Fox. Today we are celebrating NSD with a series of challenges over on the Bramble Fox Friends Facebook group.

I have teamed up with Wendy Meffan to give you a Tic Tac Toe challenge. I have used the right vertical line: fussy cutting, sequins or enamel dots, and bows. I have used the Magical Memories Perspextives collection, specifically the Magical Mouse Accents set containing black Mickey heads and red Minnie bows – these are so adorable!

I’ve used the Simple Stories Say Cheese Main Street collection and tore off a large section of a patterned paper to go on the left side of my layout. I used a large chipboard frame in the middle of my layout which I backed in white card and I added my photos to.

For the right side of the layout I fussy cut out a few circles from the remaining patterned paper and arranged them coming down from the corner of the frame. Fussy Cutting box ticked.

I added my beautiful Perspextives to the circles: several mouse heads and I also added two red Minnie bows. There are also bows in my photos and I also added in a bow paperclip to the left of the frame. Bow box ticked.

I finished off with a few more embellishments from the Main Street collection and embellished my fussy cut circles with lots of cute enamel dots, fussy cut stars and a few paint splatters. Enamel Dot box ticked.

So I really hope you enjoy the challenges! Head over to the Bramble Fox Friends group to take part. We also have a fun Live Hop collaboration with GoGo Getaway, Lottie Loves Paper and Peartree Cut Files so head over to find out more about that.

Happy scrapping

Easter Love | Lottie Loves Paper NSD Sketch Challenge & YouTube Hop

To celebrate National Scrapbook Day 2021, the Lottie Loves Paper Design Team and some special guests have all created a layout from the same sketch. This is a YouTube hop around all our channels with videos of the layout process and see how each scrapbooker interpreted the sketch and made their layout.

For my layout I have used Simple Stories Bunnies & Blooms. I absolutely adored the NSD sketch and it worked so very well with the journaling cards from the Bunnies & Blooms collection. I started off by using the gorgeous green gingham paper for my background. I trimmed it down and stuck it to a piece of white card. I then machine stitched in white through the white lines on the gingham print. This added lots of extra texture and interest to my background. It doesn’t show up too well on the photos but it looks awesome in real life!

I mounted each one of the photos and journaling cards either onto white card or onto more patterned paper. I also machine stitched around each one, including my photos. I cut two tags and machine stitched around those too and arranged all these pieces onto the layout as per the sketch. I added pom pom trim to two of the cards for extra cuteness!

I then started to add embellishments. I used chipboard, stickers from the sticker sheet and foam stickers. I added a banner sticker to the top of the layout that said Easter and the word Love from the foam stickers to the middle of the layout, creating the title ‘Easter Love’.

I finished off by adding adhesive Decorative Brads and I handwrote my journaling around the arch of the rainbow on the bottom middle journaling card. This layout is so adorable and so perfect for documenting Easter memories and I love how it turned out! Enjoy the rest of the hop and happy scrapping. Here are the rest of the Hop details:

There is a prize for one lucky person who completes the hop. To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave a kind comment on ALL the videos in the hop by 8th May 2021. To be an eligible entry, comments must be specific to the video or layout and not simply the same comment left on them all. The winner will be announced in the Lottie Loves Paper Facebook group soon after the closing date.

There is also another chance to win a prize by creating your own layout based on the sketch and entering it into the relevant album in the Lottie Loves Paper Facebook group: Lottie Loves Paper Community.
