Howdy! | Simple Stories Howdy Collection

Tuesday 6 July 2021

Hey everyone, here is another layout for Simple Stories using the new Howdy collection. I have just loved working with this collection, it’s jam packed full of super cute fun cowboy and Wild West related things!

I love stars and was really drawn to using the stars paper – they aren’t actually stars, but mini Sheriff badges, how cute is that! I tore a large section to go across the top of my layout and tore another smaller section of the same paper, but the reverse B side, to layer underneath it. I layered the two together and put them at the top of the denim paper. I love the contrast this gives.

I arranged my two photos at the top together with two tags from the Tags paper that I tied through with ribbon and twine. I cut up some of the 2”x2” squares from the 4x4/2x2 Elements paper because I just loved the pop of bright colours they added to the layout. They also have super cute icons on too such as a saddle, horse shoe and ‘rootin tootin’. I distressed the edges of each and layered some of them with some spare ones and arranged these along the torn line of the paper.

I added my title ‘howdy’ from the Foam Phrases to the denim coloured part of the layout, underneath my title. I then set about embellishing the layout. I adore the cute critters in this collection and my little boy loves foxes, so the fox Sheriff had to feature. I gave him some sticks of dynamite and a cactus too. I also added the chipmunk critter too and a little racoon from the puffy stickers.

I added some word stickers ‘yee-haw’, ‘round up’ and ‘reach for the stars’ and a larger ‘wanted’ sticker. I carried on adding the embellishments: stickers, Bits & Pieces, decorative brads and puffy stickers. I love having a variety of embellishments on my layouts as they provide different sizes and textures so this was my layouts always have lots to look at!

I finished with some splatters of white paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
