Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club. I'm using the February kits which can be found on the website here and my assignment today was to back a cut file with mixed media as today is Mixed Media Monday.
I've used the Adorable You cut file that can be found on website under February Downloads.
I cut the Adorable You cut file on one of the patterned papers from the February kit but I made it a bit smaller with the letters closer together. I also took the hearts out of the middle of the Os and placed them above and below the letters instead. The reason for this was because I wanted my photos to be in the Os. I used my Silhouette software to re-size and print & cut my photos so they would fit perfectly within the Os.
I took a sheet of Marshamallow card and started adding mixed media. There were three colours in this month's Color Kit: Dandy-Lion (yellow), Tickle Me Turquoise (blue) and Razzeldazzel Berry (pink). I started by applying these colours to the card in separate areas. I then mixed the colours together: yellow and pink to make orange, blue and yellow to make green and pink and blue to make purple. I applied these to the card too. I ended up with a large area of mixed media on a 12x12 sheet. I added large splatters of black ink. Once dry I used this sheet to back the cut file in one whole sheet. I used foam pads to get dimension.
I then embellished the layout using the exclusive Hip Kit Club ephemera and labels as well as a few Simple Stories brads and chipboard shapes. I also used Pinkfresh Studio chipboard flair too - it was great to be able to tuck things inside the letters.
I finished off with my journaling
and with a few more black ink splatters. I actually really love how this turned
out as I was a bit apprehensive at first but it was so fun to create and the
result is awesome!
