Fantastic Ribbons Christmas Project

Sunday 9 December 2012

Hi Lovelies

This month the fabulous Design Team over at Fantastic Ribbons are making Christmas home decor projects. There have been some really amazing ideas so far, some I will definitely be trying!

I've gone for decorating my Christmas table. I've made a tree which will be a centre-piece  and I've also made napkin rings and place names for everyone I've got coming over.

The tree was made by rolling a piece of A4 card into a cone shape and securing in place with tape. I chopped off the bottom and the top to make them level and then got sticking. I cut LOADS of ribbon tabs then started adding them one by one from the bottom up. I stapled on the first two layers but then my stapler wouldn't reach any further so I had to resort to double sided tape. I finished off the top with pearl pins, scrunched up some wired ribbon and poked it through the hole in the top, then wrapped some green ribbon around and tied it in a bow - hey presto!
(of course the whole thing would have been much simpler with a styrofoam cone and pins but I went for the hard way!)

The napkin rings were made with wide wired ribbon which is just secured at the back. The poinsettia is made from three red ribbon loops and one green one. I layered them on top of each other and secured. A button in the middle really finishes it off.

And finally the place cards were super simple - a bit of washi tape and some ribbon on the left side!

Hope you like these little projects and feel free to give them a try!

Thanks for looking xx
