Heritage/Vintage Scrapbooking Class

Monday, 7 May 2012

Hi All

I'm running a vintage/heritage scrapbooking class this coming Saturday (12th May) and I thought I'd share with you one of the layouts:

Those pictures are of my husband when he was a little boy - he hasn't thanked me for using them on a layout, just wait until he finds out they are now on the internet!!

I wanted to create a heritage feel to this page so I distressed the edges of my kraft cardstock using an ink blending tool and Distress ink. I also used one of the stamps in the Tim Holtz set Slight Alterations to stamp the scribbles onto the background - can you see they are slightly poking out the sides of the burlap paper? I also distressed the edges of each of the large patterned paper layers and inked them as well.

There were slight patterns on the cream paper used here so out of the other half I cut out the shield shape and tucked it under my photo as well as the bicycle.

I finished off the layout using Prima alphabet stickers as well as some tiny kraft letters too to add a subtitle.

I followed the sketch over at Twisted Sketches for this layout.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by - I will be back with more heritage/vintage layouts so watch this space xx
