Niki's Layout using 'Rosy Love' kit

Thursday, 17 May 2012

Hi All

So what did you think of yesterday's kit? I loved it! I am a big fan of glittery papers anyway but this particular range by My Mind's Eye are particularly gorgeous!

Here is my layout:

I really loved the frame but the green glitter was a little too much for my photo so I trimmed it down and stuck it onto a less busy pattern which created by background.

I wanted to keep the label shape in the bottom left corner and therefore cut around part of it so I could slot things behind it rather than cover it up.

I added a number of layers of patterned papers under my photo in order to showcase as many of the different patterns as possible without making the page too busy.

The Label stickers added subtle embellishment to the layout and I added a title using some leftover Prima alphabet stickers.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking. Pop back tomorrow to see a layout by Kirei using this kit xx

Final Vintage/Heritage Class layout

Tuesday, 15 May 2012

Hi Again everyone

Today I'm sharing the last of the layouts made in my Vintage/Heritage scrapbooking class that took place on Saturday. I really enjoyed running this class, some of the old photos people had were really amazing and I just loved seeing them and helping to bring them alive on scrapbook pages:

This was a photo of me and my mum (did the title give it away by any chance?). I only had the one so this had to be a single photo layout which are often my favourite.

I added some interest to the photo by building up several different sized pieces of card and patterned papers and gave one a decorative edge which sort of became a feature by hanging over the background frame.

I then added some chiffon trim under the photo

The corner embellishment is simply made with lots of circles cut with various sized punches out of different patterned papers which have been build up to fit into the corner of the layout. I added a couple of gorgeous flowers and some buttons to finish off

If you've liked this series of vintage/heritage layouts and would like to come along to one of my scrapbooking classes in the future, have a look at our Workshops page for details and drop me an email to book your place (pagesofmemories@hotmail.co.uk)

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by - check back tomorrow for this week's new kit xx

Prima Almanac Double Layout

Monday, 14 May 2012

Hi Everyone

I have another layout to share with you today - it's again from the class I ran on Saturday just gone. This time I did a double layout and used the gorgeous Almanac papers by Prima:

The purpose of this layout was to see if there was any resemblance between my mum, me and my daughter when we were all babies/one year olds. Everyone (and I mean absolutely everyone!) says Sophie looks like my husband rather than me but I was convinced there must have been some of me in her but I think I am going to have to admit defeat!

These gorgeous butterflies were on the back of one of the papers I used as part of the background - they were too gorgeous not to use...

I added a title using Prima alphabet stickers and some ric rac to finish off

and I used the same border punch to create some continuity throughout the layout. I particularly like ones that work layered on top of each other to get a double effect.

Supplies used:
Prima Almanac patterned papers (sold out - sorry!)

Thanks for looking and thanks for stopping by xx

Miss Anya Card

Saturday, 12 May 2012

Hi Again Everyone

I have another little project made with May 2 kit 'Sweet Pea' to share with you today:

I used a Miss Anya image on this card - I absolutely love these girls, they are so cute! I've coloured her with Copic Markers (although the shading doesn't show very well on the photo)

I worry that proper bows can be a bit cumbersome on cards, particularly if the ribbon is quite thick, so I get around this problem by simply tying a knot - it looks like a bow though doesn't it!
Adding a button to the centre of the 'bow' finishes it off nicely.

I finished off the card by cutting some flowers using the 'Flowers & Leaves' punch by EK Success and I added some flourishes and sticky gems too!

Supplies used:
May 2 Kit 'Sweet Pea'
Miss Anya Collection Rubber Stamps
It's Only Words 2 Sentiment Stamps
Memento Ink Pad
Copic Markers:
Scroll & Dots Edger punch
Flower & Leaves Punch
Wave Flourish Punch
Sticky Gems
Yellow Button

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx

Kirei's layout with the May Week 2 Kit: 'Sweet Pea'

Friday, 11 May 2012

Hi Everyone!

This week's Kit was all mauves and soft greens with the pretty 'Lilac Avenue' papers from Kaisercraft.  I had a lovely photo of a family get together in 2010 with Lee and I, both of our parents and his nan. We took his nan to Sopwell House in St. Albans for dinner as she couldn't make it out to Las Vegas for our wedding. Unfortunately she passed away last year so this holds some very special memories for us.

I used the 'Sweet Pea' paper as the base for my layout. I then cut a couple of strips (1" x 12", 1" x 10") of the green Bazzill and border punched each of them. I wanted to use the frame side of the 'Snapdragon' paper so cut the centre out, and from this centre I cut a strip of the green vine 1" x 10". The 7" x 5" photo was firstly mounted onto a piece of lilac Bazzill, then a piece from the lilac spots side of the 'Snapdragon' paper and finally onto a piece of the green Bazzill. The final 1" x 12" strip was cut from the 'Wisteria' paper using the side with the flower border. The strips were all then layered up (look at the finished layout pic for details) before attaching the triple mounted photo.  The frame that I cut out earlier was then attached to the layout using foam pads to add dimension.

I added some embellishments by punching a variety of flowers and layering them up in the top right and bottom left corners of the photo. Use some of the pretty Kaisercraft brads that came with the Kit as centres for the flowers. A couple of punched photo corners in the lilac Bazzill were added to the photo and to finish off I added a title with the glittery American Crafts alpha that also came with the Kit.

This Kit is available for a short time from the Online Store.

Thanks for looking!

Niki's Layout using 'Sweet Pea' Kit

Thursday, 10 May 2012

Hi Everyone

I am back with my layout using May 2 kit 'Sweet Pea'

This was such a fun layout to put together! I started off by cutting out the shape on one of the sheets of patterned paper and used that as my background.

I then started adding the rest of the layers. I added some doodling to the yellow paper to make it stand out a little more and those gorgeous brads!

My title was too long to use the large Thickers included in the kit for all of it, so I used some of the yellow paper to journal most of it and just used the Thickers for the main part.

Hope you like it and make sure you check back tomorrow to see Kirei's layout using this kit xx

Another Vintage/Heritage Layout

Tuesday, 8 May 2012

Hi Everyone

I have another layout to share with you today, this is another one from my Vintage/Heritage Scrapbooking class that is coming up this Saturday 12th May
(unfortunately the class is full but if you want details of other scrapbooking classes let me know, they are great value at only £23 with 4 layouts and lunch included!)

This one is more vintage style than heritage and features a photo of me and Ben on our wedding day:

The photo unfortunately doesn't do the layout justice but the mix of the slightly blurred black & white photo with the papers used comes together really well.

The corner embellishments (bottom corners) are cut from the off cuts of one of the papers as is the rose embellishment too.

I added a large 1-word title, (I sometimes think these have the most impact?) and some journalling strips.  I aslo inked the edges of the patterned papers with black ink to pull everything together

I finished off the layout by adding a few strips of patterned paper to the top left corner together with some lace and a sub title and two tiny hearts.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by - I have a couple more of these layouts to share with you but they won't be until after the class on Saturday so watch this space xx

Another 1st Birthday Card

Monday, 7 May 2012

Hi Everyone

I have another first birthday card to share with you today:

This one uses a super cute Tatty Teddy Me to You stamp which I've coloured with Copic Markers. The papers are also from the Me to You range. I don't stock them unfortunately but they are really gorgeous!

I printed the sentiment on my PC and added some brads and a bow to finish off.

I used the sketch over at Mojo Monday this week to create this card.

Supplies used:
Copic Markers: C1, C3, C7, B00, B02

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by xx
