Thankful for You | Hip Kit Club | Recipe Challenge

Sunday, 22 November 2020

Hi everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Hip Kit Club and I'm playing along with this week's challenge which is a Recipe. The challenge is to include these things: stitching, two photographs, chipboard and three patterned papers. The DT also had the additional challenge of a 'thankful for' theme. I have used the beautiful October Hip Kits which can be found on the Hip Kit Club website

I choose the check Simple Stories Stay Cozy pattern which is one of my favourite patterns in this month's kit. I folded over the corner to reveal the pattern on the other side too. I machine stitched through lots of the lines on the background using gold thread in my sewing machine. The result is super pretty.

I added a Simple Stories Cozy Days chipboard frame under the fold, and added my photos to this area. I also added a patterned paper tag, also Simple Stories Cozy Days. I added my gold title 'Thankful for you' to this tag.

I added flowers and leaves and some ephemera butterflies to the layout.

I love how this turned out! Play along with the Recipe challenge over on the Hip Kit Club Group on Facebook. Enjoy the process video below.

Happy scrapping

Thankful for Every Little Moment | Shimmerz Paints | November Color Kitz

Friday, 20 November 2020

Hey everyone, I have a new layout to share today for Shimmerz Paints using the November Color Kitz.

The November Kitz contains Don't Rain on my Parade Vibez, Going Peach Side Shimmerz, Precious Metal Shimmerz, Misty Morning Inklingz and Show Me the Honey Inklingz. As well as these amazing paints, there is also a pack of three Dotz, some gorgeous sticky backed pearls and of course the exclusive cut file, which reads 'Thankful for Every Little Moment'.

I started with a sheet of white card that I trimmed down and distressed the edges. I mounted this onto a sheet of Maggie Holmes Marigold paper that had colourful stripes on it - this paper was a great choice as the colours in the paper match the colours in the Kitz perfectly!

I cut the outline of the cut file in kraft card and cut the internal letters in light pink.

I added three colours from the Color Kitz to my layout, as a base to put my photo. The colours I used are: Misty Morning Inklingz, Show Me the Honey Inklingz and Going Peach Side Shimmerz. These three colours are so pretty together and my plan was to create a lovely area of colour for my photo to sit on.

Once dry I arranged my cut file onto the layout and popped up all of the internal pink letters on foam pads to give lots of lovely dimension. I added my photo and a few embellishments on the painted area.

I also created a little cluster of embellishments down in the bottom right corner of the layout and added some splatters of the Color Kitz Paints.

I used a metal die and my Big Shot machine to cut out some leaves from white card. I then painted these with the other two colours in the Color Kitz: Precious Metal Shimmerz and Don't Rain on My Parade Vibez. These leaves look so pretty painted in those gorgeous colours.

I added two of the Dotz to my layout and a few of the sticky backed pearls on each side.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this layout and video. Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz Store, add my name to the comments to receive a little freebie! Enjoy the process video below.

Happy scrapping

Cosy Days | Bramble Fox | November Fox Box

Thursday, 19 November 2020

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Bramble Fox using the beautiful November Fox Box. For this layout I have used the 'Cosy Days' title as well as two mugs both with etched details and the frosted pink ear muffs.

I have also used Fox Dies #4 to create extra detailed items for my layout.

I've used a white sheet of card for my background and together with a sheet of Maggie Holmes Marigold paper. I cut this into 2" squares, distressed the edges and arranged them onto my white background.

I then set about embellishing every square. I added the small perspextives from the November Fox Box to three. The Cosy Days title filled another. In some of the others I added die cut leave that I cut with Fox Dies #4. In another I added a piece of the chicken wire Fox Die and in another I added the squares that some out of the chicken wire Fox Die.

I added my photo with a few paper layers and some other small embellishments and finished off with some sequins and splatters of paint.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping. Enjoy the video below.

Here's the Scoop | Hip Kit Club | Mixed Media Monday

Wednesday, 18 November 2020

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the October Kits. You can find the October kits on the Hip Kit Club website.

Today's assignment is Mixed Media Monday so I am focussing on the Lindy's Magicals in the October Color Kit.

I began with a white background and tore a large strip of orange Simple Stories Cozy Days paper to place across the layout. I then started applying the Magicals powders. I applied them as powder to the layout and then spritzed water onto them ...I love doing this because of how the colour then explodes! This method shows all the amazing colours in the powders which you don't always see if you mix them with water before applying them to the paper.

I used all three colours and ended up with some very intense areas of colour on the layout. The sparkle and shimmer when these are dry is amazing!

I cut three pumpkins using an exclusive cut file called Pumpkin Face which can be found in the OctoberDownloads tab. I cut the solid shape only with the faces, rather than the outline shape. I cut these three times from orange Exclusive Hip Kit Club paper and backed them with navy cardstock from the October Cardstock kit. I arranged these together with my photos.

I had additional photos to add to this page, so I made a little pocket from patterned paper which I sewed together on my sewing machine. I added the extra photos to a long strip of paper which I concertina folded so it fit in the pocket - this is a great and easy way of included extra photos on a layout.

I embellished the layout with houses from the Jen Hadfield The Avenue sticker book and and other embellishments. I also added a title which I stitched through to keep in place.
Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this layout and video.

Happy scrapping
